I ordered via Ubereats for lunch. They use their own delivery drivers so paying tip on Ubereats is mandatory and worth it. My food arrived on time and was still hot and very delicious. I've been into Pupusas a lot lately and so far Maya Fusion Cafe has the best ones. I had the Pollo and Revueltas and I can't decide which was my favorite as they were both equally delectable. The cabbage it comes with is also very well seasoned. I also tried their tacos de carnitas and al pastor. Very fresh, delicious and tasty. I'd definitely stop by in person to dine in one day.

Outside area

Happy hour tacos were delicious, service was very homie. My husband enjoyed his Michelada.

Came here with some friends who are local to the Brooklyn area. Prices were super reasonable. We had a couple cocktails and pupusas which were so delicious. I wish there had been a sample platter where I could've gotten all the different types of pupusas. I would definitely come back when I'm in town next!

Pina Colada

Order a couple of Pina Coladas. Horrible. First off the Pina Coladas were $20 each. Secondly they used Cheap Tequila. Everyone know s Pina Coladas are made with RUM !! 0/10 Recommend My husband said its awful

Catered lunch with rice and beans, fajitas, salad and chips.

If I could give service a 6/5 I would! I ordered food here for a catered work event and Jose more than delivered. He made an order special for my needs and even threw in a few bonus items for us. I have all latin workers who loved the fajitas, rice and beans, salad, and chips and salsa. Flavor was excellent and it was still hot when it arrived! The leftovers were great too!! 10/10 experience all around. Can't speak on the ambiance but I would like to go in person soon!

Sangria

I really enjoyed my food here. I came here for a quick lunch (which wasn't quick lol) and ordered a sangria, chicken quesadilla and horchata. The sangria, while was a bit small was really strong. I mean I was surprised how tipsy I was with one drink. The chicken quesadilla is made out of corn tortilla which is different but I enjoyed it. It's not the typical American quesadilla. It used cotija cheese, very flavorful grilled chicken, lettuce and sour cream. All and all I would def ordered this again. The horchata was just ok, a bit on the watery side. The service was ok, nothing to write home about but you can tell it's a mom and pop shop even if it's a bit on the bigger side.

We decided to check this place out after being near the area. we came in were seated outside, weather was still nice. Drinks we tried the Mojito, not bad good taste & decent amount of alcohol. We started with a Pupusa , very good nice & cheesy. Main dishes I had the Carne asada big piece of meat comes, with salad , rice & beans meat was very good, nice grill taste, good salad, rice & beans. Hubby had a Shrimp Burrito, it was stuffed with rice, shrimp not bad. Friends tried a Salad & Steak & onions, both good as well. Nice seating area outside, cute decor overall service was good out waiter was nice & attentive, decent prices over all. Everything we tried was good, we enjoyed our meal.

I thought this place was AMAZING man. I have appts on Fridays in the area and went twice. First time I can't lie I was like how in the world places like this slip past me. So I yelped it, like where the tacos at?? And Yelp said 8 minutes away so I went in to investigate. Theres a cute kind of enclose outdoor space and they have an inside with a bathroom that had like all the mops and brooms fighting me on my way out lol. The manager I thought was a man but I met a different woman last week there that knew everything like she was training the young man who was serving me and you could just tell she could do it with her eyes closed. Definitely a date night or night out with friends but I managed to solo brunch there twice with no company enjoying the atmosphere, the music and even doing a TikTok live inviting my viewers to check out the place. I got the same thing twice a huge plate of food with a shell steak, rice beans, salad, pico de gallo, tortillas and a chicken and cheese pupusa! Oh and a sangria (second time I only got one bc BABY I still gotta drive home. The food is good. The steak was burnt the first time like was that yesterdays yall? The second time it's wasn't burnt so bad. But the dish as a whole with all the things it comes with I just loved it. Especially the pupusa which is not on the menu. I asked for it and they made it but when I asked again the second young man was like we don't sell that (and then that lady who I was telling you about she snook in between us and said that's not something we offer to everyone but we will make it for you. That's what I'm taking about. Floor me with that buttery, cheese perfection! I can see the place very busy in the night as it is with at least 3 patrons on the inside and 3 couples on the outside at 11:45am. I'm glad for the beautiful of the outdoor space and a little hidden gem that I can always return to. Parking is there, not far from the train and I was definitely return and with friends. The menu has like a million items beware maybe check what you want befor you go.

empanadas and strawberry margarita(tajin rim)

Extremely hot day and stopped by for empanadas and some drinks. We were a party of three, sat outside. We had proper shade and more than enough water to rehydrate. Empanadas were bomb, had several different kinds but the chicken one was the best. That red hot sauce is 10/10 . Several rounds of margaritas for the table, the tamarind one was the best one. Would recommend and will be back to try more of the menu some other day. Try it out, service was great btw.

One of my favorite regular spots for good Mexican food. The menu is very expansive and includes just about anything you could imagine. The staff is very friendly and service is always excellent. Great outdoor seating as well.

Lively fun colorful interior. Service was quick and lovely. I ordered 3 tacos: 2 carnitas and 1 al pastor. The prok carnitas were crispy and the perfect mix of fatty/lean meat. It was moist and flavorful. The al pastor was also amazing - super juicy and strong pineapple flavor. Great tacos and taco tuesday deal. Would love to try the michelada next time around

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.

4.4 and rounded up. Ambiance 4 stars…read more Food 5 stars. Service 4.3 stars. AMBIANCE: Walking to the restaurant from the subway, it's located on an unassuming block at the corner of 4th St and Havemeyer in Williamsburg, front of store doesn't particularly stand out. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa. One of the top picks of the evening. - roasted bone marrow and chorizo, served as tacos with fresh blue corn tortillas, and added a sprinkle of pickled onions--does that sound amazing? Bc it was AAHMAZING. - spicy chipotle-guajillo shimp 'diablo' (not spicy): served with pumpkin tortillas and three accompaniments on the side--mushroom chile crisp, horseradish crema, celery 'salsa macha". Part 2 to make your own tacos was another hit! Our entire table agreed if they sold the sauce for the shrimp we'd all buy it. - heritage pork osso bucco 'carnitas' with Fall-spiced black mole, sour cherry mostardo, calabrian chile pesto: cue drooling now. This part 3 of the tacos was served on pumpkin tortillas; the meat was practically falling off the bone, tender, juicy and flavorful. - buffalo-style com 'elote: sooo good too! A little messier to eat since it comes drizzled with spicy hot sauce butter, feta, lime aioli, cilantro, though totally worth it! - Desserts: --green tea matcha churros: comes with two little pots of spiced mexican chocolate & passion fruit sauce. Warm, sugary and crisp without being too sweet. --pumpkin spiced-vanilla flan: topped with sour cherries, cocoa nibs & toasted seed 'trail mix", if you love flan you'll love this, so smooth and creamy with a bit of crunch and tang from the cherries. --pistachio tres leches cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry, using an olive oil cake: we all agreed this was probably the best tres leches we've ever had. The pistachio nuttiness and the creaminess from the milks paired well. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive service though it was very loud in the restaurant and they had to really shout. There was a delay in the middle of our meal I think bc kitchen was slammed, after the entree we waited about 35 min for our desserts. Considering they limited the seating to 2 hours and about half of our party arrived 20 min late, and accounting for the long wait pre-dessert, they did us solid by extending our table time by about an hour in total. Also great that they brought the first dessert out with a candle for my friend's birthday.

I ordered the Shrimp Costeños--chipotle-marinated shrimp with pineapple salsa, sweet potato purée, and tropical pico de gallo. The combination sounded ambitious, but it worked beautifully. The shrimp had a nice smoky kick from the chipotle, the pineapple salsa brought just the right amount of sweetness, and the sweet potato purée tied everything together. It was one of those dishes where every bite tasted a little different in the best possible way. My son ordered the Grilled Pescado, which happened to be Chilean sea bass that day. The fish was perfectly cooked--flaky, buttery, and practically melted with a fork. Paired with the chileatole sauce, esquites, quinoa, and arugula-jicama salad, it was surprisingly sophisticated for someone whose culinary opinions usually revolve around chicken nuggets. My wife went with the 3 Taco Combo, which disappeared so quickly I barely had time to negotiate a bite. Based on the speed at which they vanished, I can only assume they were excellent. We also tried both the red and white sangrias. They were fine--certainly drinkable, but not the star of the show. Think of them as the opening act, while the food was definitely the headliner. Overall, Ruta Oaxaca delivers flavorful, well-executed dishes with vibrant presentations that make the meal feel special without being pretentious. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the plates were so colorful that my phone ate before I did.
