I found two dresses that caught my eye. One required too many alterations to make it work. The other was beautiful but I ended up going with another dress. Athena was very patient and helpful. I got my wedding dress here back in 2018! I'm just getting around to a review because I was reminiscing through wedding photos for my anniversary and I just loved my dress and had to share! I had altercations done to meet my modesty requests and the seamstress who they recommended did a beautiful job! I'm shocked to see so many Yelp elites rated this store so highly, my experience was extremely disappointing. The service was subpar to what you would expect for a bridal dress outing. Our sales rep asked me which type of dresses I liked and then made me go searching for dresses myself. When we asked her for assistance with picking dresses, she seemed almost annoyed to help us. Instead of assisting me with putting on the wedding dresses, she walked away and I had to struggle to put wedding dresses on my own. When asked about alternations that could be done to a dress, she was very aloof. Having done my research about this shop, I also knew that there was a discounted area for wedding dresses. However she did not seem to want to show us this room. For the average cost of dresses (which was higher compared to the other shops I visited) I would have expected better customer service. The whole situation was such a shame because I think I found the dress I loved at this shop but the experience put me off from shopping here. If they treat you like this before you buy the dress, what's to say they'll treat you better after you buy it. read more

I absolutely love this dress store, everyone I've talked to says it's the best in Tucson and I'd say probably the best in all of AZ. It's filled every corner with the most amazing handmade one of a kind dresses, and they offer customized fittings with their seamstresses who are insanely talented! I came in with my sister to find her a wedding dress and we had the most amazing experience. They were able to work with us and our budget and found the most perfect dress for her special day! I live in Oregon but plan to come back to Tucson when I need myself a wedding dress or any formal dress for that matter. Went here to try on wedding dresses and the service was awful. We had to pull, try on, and do our best to clip all the dresses. Maria was supposed to be helping us, but she'd disappear for extended periods of time to the point where it felt like no one was helping us at all. Multiple times we had to ask other staff members to go find her for us, she'd return for a couple minutes, then disappear entirely. It never felt like my tastes were being considered. Any additional dresses that were pulled were so far away from my vision my guests had to go out searching in place of the assistance I was supposed to be getting. This is the absolute worst bridal experience. Do not recommend. They'll treat walk-ins with better care than the people who actually took the time schedule an appointment. read more

If you're looking to dive through racks and racks on your own with minimal guidance then maybe you'll like this place! I went shopping with my niece and the lady that helped her had very poor customer service. That Say Yes to the Dress happy, joyful experience is not happening here. It was the main reason she ultimately opted not to purchase her dress from here. -Received No assistance in and out of any of the dresses like both other shops that we visited did. The offer wasn't even extended as an option. -She did not choose any dresses based off of the style that my niece told her she was looking for. It's free for all looking through the racks. -This was the last shop of the day, and she found one that we all really thought was perfect for her. But when we asked to speak with the seamstress, she wouldn't even BALLPARK how many anticipated hours she would need for alterations. As we were told they charge $40 per hour for alterations. It would be nice to have a rough idea of how long she thinks it may take. - Prices were definitely higher than the other two shops we went. Mind you, it was not the plan to go in looking for cheap. I really enjoyed the search process for my wedding gown for my Vegas wedding in late February. The staff was amazing during the process and treated us really well. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star was because there was some complications with the ordering of my dress. I think it's a worth wild place to visit. I literally stopped in here on a whim on the way home from another shall remain nameless bridal chain that I never should have went to to begin with. It was 6 weeks before my wedding and I decided to stop in and just look, not expecting much when I had only 6 weeks and without an appointment. I was greeted and they immediately started pulling dresses for me to try on! They have many of the prominent bridal designers and a lot of dresses in store. My dream dress was a Madi Lane and while they didn't have the exact style, we found another very similar Madi Lane in my size. I needed some nuanced alterations to the dress and they were able to do that even within my time frame. The sales people and alterations team were awesome and literal angels for me. The alterations folks are top notch and so accommodating - they did everything exactly how I wanted up to the week of my wedding. So glad I stopped in because I absolutely loved my dress! The store is definitely a hidden gem in Tucson. Initially when you walk in it is a really cute boutique. To the left they have all bridal dresses. Maria the store manager was amazing. She went the extra mile to get me exactly what I wanted. I live in North Scottsdale and I went all the way to Tucson to try on the dress that I wanted. I wanted it in a different color scheme and she definitely delivered on that... This is the only bridal store that was willing to work with me on my financial situation. The selection of wedding dresses is amazing. I was looking for nontraditional dresses that have a pop of color on them and was not finding what I was looking for at other places. When I went here, i found my perfect dress. Colleen helped me find my dress and knew exactly what I was looking for. This is my favorite shop in Tucson. It appears to be a bridal and Prom dress store but it is so much more. There are dressy and casual clothes for seniors that are fun and artsy. I have bought dresses for my children's wedding and silk jackets and jumpsuits for dinners and parties. The best is Margarita who brings everything to the fitting room along with lemonade and chocolate to keep me going! It's really great fun and so enjoyable. The only drawback is the cost of alterations, especially compared to the clothes which are so reasonable. read more

Susie , Laurie , Anna and Reem made me feel like so special and understand how important it is to find that perfect dress. It wasn't just me. They give this special attention to each customer. Shopping for a mother of the bride dress or pants suit and it was recommended I come here. I was told that they had quite a selection but I was not prepared mentally for what is actually in the store. It was a bit overwhelming as I had sensory overload but the sales associate, Lauri, provided just what I needed. I indicated to her I was having some difficulty and her approach was perfect. She help me find a place where I could sit down gain my composure and then she described a plan that would help me get what I needed. And that's exactly what happened. I returned the following day with the shoes that I will wear with the dress so they could have it altered and the owner, Maggie, assisted me with this and again the treatment was excellent. We recently went shopping for my daughter's wedding dress. We started out with an appointment at a national chain, and were underwhelmed with the limited number of options (4) for dresses that weren't covered in lace. Our second appointment was at Maya Palace. Maria helped us out, and my daughter tried on 12 dresses that were in the "less embellished" style she likes. We found an amazing dress. What we liked about Maya Palace: variety in the selection of dresses, attentive service without "hovering", great 3-way mirror set-up that lets the bride and shopping pals see the dress from all angles, the fitting/dressing room was conveniently open, but felt private, straight-forward explanations about ordering and alterations (Maria consulted with the seamstress to make sure her information about alterations on the dress we chose was accurate). What a great shop in an unassuming strip mall industrial park. The owner is really helpful and kind and her shop is lovely. She literally has every kind of beautiful clothing out there. It is a dream store! When I came here there were people in the back trying on wedding dresses with an entourage to review but the store was big enough to have a regular fitting room on the other side for non-wedding related trying on of items. I have been to Maya Palace twice while shopping for my wedding dress, and the two experiences were night and day. The first experience left me extremely agitated and unhappy. I had a very similar experience to another reviewer in terms of how aggressive the saleswoman was. The consultant was extremely pushy and inconsiderate, from telling me I should get my ears pierced for the wedding to refusing to acknowledge that I told her at the beginning of my appointment that I was not buying that day regardless of what I found because it was my very first time ever trying on wedding dresses. She ignored everything I said, and pushed the sale HARD. I did find a dress I loved, and she was determined not to let me leave without it. She essentially tried to scare me into buying on the spot by talking about discontinuations and such, which was extremely off-putting. I left feeling very overwhelmed and unhappy -- and, frankly, angry -- at the way this woman had treated me and my family and friends. Luckily for Maya Palace, I loved the dress enough that I was willing to give them a second chance and came back for it a few weeks later. Beforehand, though, I specifically called and asked for the previous consultant's work schedule so I could come back when she wasn't working. The consultant I had on my second visit was Mary, and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is sweet, funny, and kind, and made me feel beautiful in every dress. I was fairly certain I wanted the dress I had found on my previous visit, but she still helped me pick out dresses by the same designer and in similar styles so I could compare it to others and feel completely sure. She also helped me look through what felt like dozens of veils, as well as jewelry, without ever once pushing me to buy. She really listened to what I said, and was therefore able tailor what she had me try on exceptionally well. She is very good at picking accessories to compliment a dress, and I don't think I could have done it without her! I haven't yet dealt with alterations, but I am hoping for a positive experience. I'll update when that rolls around. Bottom line: good selection of truly gorgeous dresses, and definitely ask for Mary if you're looking for bridal! read more

I went to Maya Palace and paid after alterations 2300.00, FULL price for a dirty floor sample dress that they assured me they would clean and make perfect again, and all I got was the same dirty dress. The day before my wedding. I picked out a dress from their beautiful selection of dresses back in December. They said they were unable to get me a new dress in my size from the designer so I would have to take their floor sample. I thought, cool, but the dress was dirty with dirt and make up stains, and black shoe marks on the bottom from people trying it on, as it had been tried on by probably hundreds of brides. I quite obviously expected a discount but the owner Susie told me verbatim, "we don't give discounts because we will clean the dress and steam it and make it look like new so you wouldn't even know it was the sample everyone tried on." Everyone thought the no discount thing for the trampled on dress was weird but I loved the dress so we went with it. I trusted them. Fast forward to every single one of my appointments when I tried the dress on and would marvel about how freaking dirty it was. I felt the need to remind them at each appointment "You guys said you would clean and steam it... you're doing that, right?" The response was "Oh, sweetie, of course! We wait until the last week so it doesn't get dirty during fittings." Every time - so I almost felt a little dumb bringing it up. During the final fitting in the building both my mother and I spoke to the OWNER Susie again. "The dress will be cleaned and pressed, right? It is VERY dirty." As always I got the same "of course" response. My seamstress Karen (who was fabulous) dropped it off at the store for me the week of my wedding to have this done. 24 hours before my wedding my father in law picked up the dress and when he brought it back to my hotel I was shocked. The dress literally had not been cleaned OR pressed. It was given to me in the same state as when it was stained and trampled on by hundreds of brides in the store. My future mother in law called the store frantically and because we didn't have time to get the dress back to the store (we had a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner - obviously) she was told to clean the freaking dress herself with hydrogen peroxide and a toothbrush. Obviously this would not work - why would I want to spot clean a filthy, dingy, stained dress so I called the business and basically had to TELL them how unacceptable this was, so they could come and pick up the dress and clean it properly. I am disgusted with this establishment for not only creating a ton of stress on my wedding day, but for making me pay full price for a dirty floor sample, and then lying to me that they would clean it in order to get me to buy the dress. It caused so much drama on what should have been a fun and stress free day of my life. You get one wedding day, and they nearly ruined mine. My family and I will never come back to this store again. read more

They also sale formal and semi formal dresses. This is a good place shop if you don't want to like someone at your party. Make an appointment if you plan to go here. It can get really busy! I'm writing this review a little late, but hey better late than never right!? I've actually been shopping at Maya Palace since 2004, they have supplied my party dresses, prom dress, 21st birthday party dress (for Vegas) and more recently my Wedding Dress! Every experience I have had there has been awesome. My wedding dress shopping experience was amazing. Liz was my consultant and she had me pegged from the moment I walked in. I had no idea what I wanted, had had some not so fun experiences at other places and she had MY dress in the 5 or 6 I tried on. They have a great selection to choose from in all kinds of styles. My situation was a little complicated because I was getting married in Austin, TX and could only fly back one time to get my dress altered. The ladies at Maya Palace were awesome. Helen was my seamstress and Oh My God I WISH I had someone like her here in Austin. She was so sweet and was able to do 3 alterations for me in 2 days so I could take the dress back with me! Overall, just an awesome experience with Liz and Helen (and everyone else there), would recommend them to absolutely anyone. Prices are reasonable, you are buying a quality product here! I'm not big on writing reviews ever, but I really felt this was important to share. I got engaged in May and was planning for a beach wedding in 2017, and by June I had bought a beautiful yet inexpensive, flowy dress at another store for our intimate low budget beach wedding in San Diego. Flash forward a month or so and after talking about it with my fiance, we decided to go in a different direction for our choice of venue in SD that we were both much more excited about, and therefore the dress I'd bought just felt totally wrong for our wedding. I just wasn't in love with my dress anymore and knew I'd need to get something else. I called Maya Palace after researching bridal boutiques in Tucson a bit and asked if they had any appointments available that same day and at the late hour of 5 pm knowing they closed at 6. A very nice woman named Margarita told me yes that would be just fine. She asked me questions about what style I was looking for and confirmed my appointment. I figured I would just check out some dresses to get an idea of what I wanted since I'd just be going by myself. I ended up getting out of work early and showed up to my appointment much earlier than expected. Margarita was there and greeted me so warmly and took me straight to the dresses I'd described. I told her my price point (which was pretty low since I'd already bought a dress and we're keeping our budget small), and she happily took me straight over to the discontinued and clearance dresses. I couldn't believe how big the selection was!! So many gorgeous dresses all within my budget! She was so helpful in pulling dresses that were exactly what I envisioned and we headed over to try them on. I felt so well taken care of and attended to, and Margarita was so wonderful throughout the whole process. The second dress I tried on was every bit of what I wanted and imagined for our big day. Margarita let me feel the dress out as long as I wanted even though it was already fast approaching closing time. I never felt rushed or pressured throughout the entire appointment, and ended up walking out the door with the dress of my dreams!!!! The whole process was so smooth and fun and I just am so happy with my decision to get a different dress, and can't thank Margarita and all the ladies at Maya Palace enough for helping me find my dress :) I would highly recommend going here to find your dress as they have every style to fit any budget and the staff are so friendly and accommodating!!! read more

This review is 2 years late but I wanted to warn other brides who choose a non-traditional dress at this shop. The minute I stated I wanted an elegant, black gown, the good customer service came to a screeching halt. I had an appointment but was pulled out of the bridal fitting room area and moved to the busy back area with the small fitting rooms. It was chaotic and my mom had no place to sit as the chairs were full. They claimed there was a scheduling conflict. Yea, sure. I did find a beautiful gown here but if you plan on a non-traditional style, just be warned you will not be treated like a bride. The seamstress did a great job on altering the dress. She was far kinder to me than anyone else. What irritated me the most was when I came back for a second fitting. My sales lady walked away for a second to grab some bra inserts and pins. Another sales lady with a European accent came over and was making comments in an effort to get me to buy the dress. She handed me a mirror and told me to look at the back of the dress to see how great it was. I told her I already knew as I've already purchased the dress. She asked the occasion and I told her my wedding. She had a shocked look and repeatedly asked me why I picked the black dress. She then asked if it was a budget issue. I was very offended. I could afford almost any dress in the shop but I really wanted a black dress. I informed her my goal was a black dress simply because I loved the idea and didn't want to be like every other cupcake bride. She basically rolled her eyes and walked away. Yes, after two years this still bothers me enough to warn other non-traditional brides. Yea they have a nice selection but you will not be treated as a bride.
