My new fave place for sandwiches!!! We got the Avogobble on toasted wheat and Veggie on toasted rye, kiddos got turkey on white roll. We also got the Mac salad and potato salad. Everything was fresh and delicious!! Perfect portions too! Couldn't ask for a better sammy :) staff was super friendly and gave us our 10% discount with our Yelp check in. I went in today for the second time with my brother. This time he got the meatball sandwich and I got The Godfather. Both were very delicious. This time though the cashier seemed as though it was an inconvenience to take our orders and actually work. I don't really appreciate someone who does not wanna work at a fine business like this. If it wasn't for the great sandwiches I would not return. I truly believe this has to get fixed. If the cashier feels like they do not want my business, I will take it elsewhere. Why is this 5 star material?? Let me tell you- this restaurant is F A M I L Y owned. I'm from a small town and getting that small town feel from Mayas Deli has made me feel close to Home. They are always so sweet and even have my order memorized before I make it to the counter. Their food is MOUTH WATERING. When I want to scarf down a big fat delicious meaty sandwich I go with godfather. When I'm feeling healthier options, they have acai bowls or can make anything lettuce wrapped. The five dollar sandwich-and-drink combo can't be beat. However, for just a little extra, they will toast the bread Pannini-style, which makes it absolutely FABULOUS! My favorite is either tuna or turkey. Whenever I have to go to Home Depot, this is just right next door. And they make each and every sandwich just EXACTLY the way you tell them you want it. And if you have a big appetite, they usually have a soup and sandwich or pasta and sandwich combo that is more than I can eat. I went in after seeing it there for a couple of years and had a roastbeef sandwich with avocado and banana peppers. their squaw bread is so moist and yummy. Most deli's don't even have squaw bread. they have all kinds of great sandwiches and their peanut butter cookies....TO DIE FOR!!! Everytime I go in there everyone is very nice and helpful, it makes me want to go back. And they have a restaurant.com coupon so when youa re trying to cut back on eating out during the week this is a great place! I don't eat there but it might get warm in there. Hands down the best sandwiches in east county especially the premium Italian which is phenomenal and absolutely massive. The sisters that run the deli are very sweet and the entire menu is affordable. You actually get more than what you pay for. Ok so my son is always begging to come here after a visit to home depot. Well finally we had a chance to stop by. Everything looked clean, I saw a few people enjoying their sandwiches. First time trying this place. I always go next door to drop off my dry cleaning and decided to go in this time for a sandwich. OMG I loved it! Priced very well at $6.95 for a chicken sandwich. The bacon was thick and so crispy! I got a chicken supreme hot sandwich and switched it up a bit by changing it to grilled sourdough, cheddar cheese and add mayo & mustard. Go and visit this great deli. Their staff is friendly and the food is really delicious. My personal favorite is the godfather on toasted squaw bread. I've tried most of there specialty sandwiches and all have been great. Prices are $5-7 for a full sized and it's totally worth it. I eat here for my lunches as often as possible. Also I use there mobile ordering through yelp so by the time I walk over is practically ready. They seem to rely on their regulars and know me by name. One reviewer said the Godfather was the best sandwich they ever had. I assumed it was Italian, but it turned out to be turkey and roast beef. The Italian sandwich is called the New Orleans.
