Just ate here last week and was extremely impressed with the quality of the food! So of course I had to eat here again today for lunch! I ordered the New Yorker and it far exceeded my expectations of pure melt in your mouth goodness! I ordered mine on toasted sourdough, no mustard, cheddar instead of swiss and added oil & vinegar. I had planned to only eat half.....but that didn't happen! I love this place and look forward to trying other sandwiches on their menu! Another great thing about this place is the customer service! We went back to "Antonellie's"... second time in three days... it was mobbed... 45 minute wait for orders. We were bummed and fired up Yelp for help. We found "Maya's Deli"... less than 5 minutes away. So we headed over there... not crowded at all... was that a bad sign? Can't explain that as the food and service were outstanding. The paperthin meat sliced sandwich with soda for the old $5 was alright but the meats are poor quality cheap tasting meat. Cheese an extra dollar is a little bit much when the meat is very scarce on the sandwich and they raised the price to $6.50 for sandwich and soda and definetly not worth it. Many places sell hearty thick sandwiches for the same price and Id say go elsewhere to a place that puts a bit of thick tastable meat into its sandwiches. Definetely say go elsewhere if you want to taste quality meat or any meat taste on your sandwich . Very Concerned why Cold totally unheated sandwiches are always taxed. Every Cold sandwich they sell they tax and most deli we have been in don't do that at all.I guess most people just get ripped off. People are very friendly but your going there for a good quality sandiwch and there sandiwches are not that. FYI...Please realize all COLD to go sandwiches are nontaxed and all hot /heated items or to stay and eat in there place is taxed which is about another 75 cents. Let me start off by saying, I'm an east coaster...and we're really picky about our sandwiches. When I first moved out here I thought I'd never find any deli that could match up to my expectations. Maya's Deli is the best deli I have ever been to...better than any I've had back East! Not only are their sandwiches the perfect size (for my big appetite) they are so fairly priced for the quality. Everything is always fresh and the home made soups are PERFECTION. This "mom and pop" deli deserves five stars without a doubt...for always making the perfect sandwich and for always brightening my day with their warm welcoming...they remember me every time I come in! Been in twice this week picking up salads for lunch. First was the tuna salad with ranch. Generous scoop of tuna on top of a great salad mix with onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Was fantastic. I used a Yelp deal here that I bought a few minutes before I went to this place. Great Deal! My bf and I went here for lunch and had a pretty good time and a pretty good meal. If we had not gotten the Yelp deal, we would have gotten the $5 lunch sandwich deal. But because we had to spend $12, I got a more expensive sandwich and a cookie! You definitely have to try Maya's Deli! I work close to the deli so not only is it conveniently located a block away. But just so happens the food is "top notch." When my team and I need a bite in the middle of a meeting or to grab anything to go while we are out Maya's is always the way to go. When you have all these commercial places to eat next to parkway plaza it is nice to have a mom & pop shop to stop in to. The employees are always very friendly, and even when there is a line they move through it very quickly. They also accept orders over the phone, so if you have a few minute of travel time and are just picking up food definitely call your order in. DO NOT FORGET TO TRY THEIR PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES! They are delish! They have a great selection of meats and breads and cheeses too. selections that most other deli's don't have. read more

Walked in and watched an obviously homeless woman (50 years old or so) order: a bagel, a banana, and a can of ice tea. The cashier took the order and the homeless lady paid then gave the cashier a $2.00 tip. When I commented that it would the most valuable tip of the day the cashier said "It always is. She always holds back on her purchase to make sure there's enough for a tip. She is an amazing woman". I'm guessing most people (including myself) would not look at this filthy old woman in tattered clothes with disheveled hair and call her amazing. If more of us could look for the good in others this would be a truly amazing world. The food is always fresh and tasty, and the service is always prompt. The prices are probably a little on the low side for deli sandwiches and they recently added beer to the menu so you can grab one with your sandwich. read more

MY NEW FAVORITE LUNCH SPOT I have been there on a few occasions, under the radar. I wanted to see what would happen if I visited multiple times. Sometimes you get a good experience at first, but it goes downhill from there. I am basing this review on over 5 trips. I would like to report that on every single visit, I have been treated well and given a smile. Even when I only wanted an item that was a couple of bucks, I was greeted well and taken care of in a timely matter. Some of the other local spots might want to take a page from this training manual. They did a fine job with my roast beef on rye (hold the mustard) and I wouldn't mind going back if I was penny pinching.
