My regular liquor store was sold out of the seltzer that Becky likes so I took a short drive to Town & Country Wine and Spirits (corner of Carlton Hills and Carlton Oaks in Santee). They were fully stocked in the walk-in "Beer Cave". They had what I was looking for (for $2 less than my regular store!) along with a full stock of beers, ciders, and seltzers. The shelves in the store are filled with typical liquor store stuff. Snacks, chips, booze, ice. All the essentials. Town & Country does feature a full-service deli counter. I take a look and with a little hesitation I viewed the menu and found something that looked good. Called in and ordered the smoked turkey Gouda panini and a acia smoothie. I had been meaning to stop here sometime because these sandwich shops in liquor stores can be very good. When I came in one evening the gentleman behind the liquor store counter told me that the sandwich shop closes at 6 PM. Today, I decided to stop by - they have a daily sandwich deal for $5.99 plus 99 cents for a combo (chips and drink) - all the combos add 99 cents which is a very good deal. When I went, the special sandwich was the torpedo, which I didn't want, so I had my own custom sandwich made - turkey, avocado, cheese and veggies. The service is very good, but a little on the slow side. You'll want some time to wait. There was one customer ahead of me and I waited about ten minutes. The 99 cents combo includes a 12-ounce soda and a small selection of about five or six types of potato chips. I wish they had the small bags of Lay's or Doritos, but I guess those would cost a bit more. At least the sodas are all brands. The sandwich was just okay. It was a little messier than I would have thought a sub should be. It was fine for the price, but I feel that there are other stores in the area that make a better sandwich. The BBQ chips seemed a little stale. The selection in the liquor store is huge and overall, the deli prices are very good for what you get, but I wasn't truly moved by it. Their sandwhichs are absolutely delicious, and they always toss in a couple of bite size candies whenever I order one. (They probably do that for everyone, but I like to think I'm special, which they're great at doing) The owner never seems to forget a face. He asks me about my husband or my son every time I come in. The girls that work there are sweethearts. This place always has what I need. Just picked up some sandwiches for my family. I ordered a Rueben, and two turkey bacon avocado toasted subs. Holy smokes!! The Rueben was incredible! The pastrami was hot and the Swiss cheese was perfectly melted. Rye bread was toasted panini style with nice grill marks. Crispy onions and sauerkraut, as well as a savory thousand island dressing complimented the entire sandwich. Everyone else said they really enjoyed their sandwiches as well. I've tried Ruebens at many places in SD and they are all sub par at best. I have two go to places for Ruebens and neither are close to my house. Glad I've finally found that place. I used to work for a company that would service this place. That's when I found out about their sandwiches. My personal favorite ... the hot pastrami. Amazing. The owner cares about his product and is personable. This is evidenced by the small things such as chairs to sit and eat your sandwich in the store. Unlike the store across the street that doesn't have a place to sit and eat this always communicates to me "Buy it and get out" this place has the idea of personable real down to earth people. If you go in the store don't be surprised to have people there just talking and hanging out because that's the type of "community" it has created. A good honest hard working owner that shows everyone respect. He's worth me giving my business to and his sandwiches are some of the tops I've had. 5 stars for service and the sandwiches. read more

Loved this place for deli sandwiches when it was Oaks Market. Stopped in yesterday and its now under new owner and new name. Ordered a roast beef sandwich on sourdough. Bread was not fresh at all. Could tell it had been in a refrigerator for a few days. The amount of roast beef on the sandwich didn't even cover half the bread. I showed a coworker and she laughed. Very disappointing sandwich. Both the man at the register and the lady making sandwiches were very polite. Sadly, I won't be going back if I'm hungry. read more

I was walking my Dogs on a really hot day,I walked in there to get a cold drink,as soon as I walked in this Beautiful young girl grabbed a bowl and put water in it for my dogs. The menu is quite large and is comprised of sandwiches, panini. wraps, salads and smoothies. They also have breakfast options. The employees are friendly and the service is good. The owner Bobby, is a great guy. He is always friendly and takes time to talk to his customers. He always wants to know how you are doing, how was the service you received and did you find what you were look for. I like to try a different sandwich each time I go in there. Every sandwich I have ordered, had been very good. The BLT is delicious and there is no shortage of bacon on it. I also like the country club sandwich and Thai chicken wrap.
