I was recommended here by my bridal shop. Leighanna lost the sleeves that came with my dress. She kept them for reference to create a different longer sleeves but did not return them. When I contact her she first claimed they were at the bottom of the bag. They where not. Then she said would have return them at the first fitting. This was not the case because she kept them after the first fitting to use as a model the other ones. I had plans for them and wanted them back. The dress fit ok in the end but not perfect. It could have been tighter (I did not change sizes in between fittings). Price is reasonable, but to be fair I didn't price shop. read more

I brought my wedding dress to Leighanna to take in and shorten. I took pictures of it before I had it altered just so I could see the difference. When I met with Leighanna, right off the bat I could see she was a very strong opinionated woman. Do not let her tell you what you want. You tell her what you want. If she tries to tell you differently, keep your ground or you wont be happy in the end. When i went back for my first fitting my dress sat crooked. I told Leighanna and she said it was the way the dress was made and that she didnt do it. I also told her I didnt like how it was now bunching in the middle from how she altered it. Her response was "thats how the dress is made" "theres nothing I can do about it." Well actually there is because the bunching wasnt due to how the dress was made. It was due to how it was altered. After that I went back to look at my pictures. My dress was perfectly straight before I had her alter it. It also laid flat. So something happened in the process of her taking it in, causing it to sit crooked. I went back a second time to have her shorten the dress and fix the crookedness. As i was explaining where I wanted shorter and where I wanted the dress to fall, she told me I was being "OCD." I just stared at her blankly. This is my wedding dress and I think its ok to be OCD to make sure I'm happy with it. I am a very precise person so I was making sure she was understanding exactly what I was wanting. She apologized for snapping at me and said she had a migraine. I had to pay another $150 to have her straighten out the dress and fix the length. Total I paid over $600 to have my dress altered, shortened and then have the alignment fixed from the error she made. In the end I was happy with my dress but it just stinks that I had to pay to have something fixed that was just fine when I brought it in. Leighanna is very nice, dont get me wrong. But do make sure to hold your ground. Dont let her tell you what you want. Its your dress. Tell her how you want it done! read more

I bought my dress from a huge warehouse in NYC/assembly line style where they measure you with your clothes on even if it's winter and you're wearing a big sweater =(. The first time I tried it on, I could zip it up and then turn around to the front without touching the sides (it was so heavy and stiff that it could almost stand on it's own). Leighanna quickly clamped me into a snug fit taking the dress down 2-3 sizes. It was like a new dress. When I came back for my final fitting the day before my wedding, it was perfect. I was referred to Leighann by the lovely ladies at the Circle Park bridal boutique. There hasn't been a single visit that I've made to Leighanna when she didn't seem completely flustered, but note that she's this busy for a reason. Her studio is out of her home, which can easily be found since it has a cute little sign by the curb. Leighanna means business. I stepped into my dress on my first visit and she immediately got to work pinning everything. With approximately seven layers of tulle, and pretty much alterations in every part of the dress, Leighanna worked wonders. I was able to pick up my dress just in time for my engagement photos. After being able to walk around in the dress, I noticed that the bottom of the dress was probably a couple inches longer than I wanted it to be. This is a review that is long overdue. Our wedding was 04/14/2012. I went with Leighanna because I read so many great reviews of her on Yelp as well as other wedding websites. She did not disappoint! I brought my dress to her in 11/2011 and she completed my dress 03/2012. She really didn't start until about 02/2012 though, which was no problem for her. My dress was extremely complicated. I bought a dress on deep discount which was also 3-4 sizes too big and not exactly what I wanted. These are the things that I had her do for me: 1) she brought the dress in from a dress size 16 to dress size 10, 2) she brought up the dress by about 2 inches, 3) she created a sweetheart neckline for me (this was extremely complicated because I wanted to keep the lace and beading on the dress so she had to restitch this back on after modifying the neckline), 3) she added sleeves with lace detailing, 4) she removed the outer tulle layer, 4) she removed the lace and beading detailing on the outer tulle layer and restitched it back on to the dress (yes, it's as crazy as it sounds!), 5) not to mention the lace, lace, and more lace added. Whew! It was a complete transformation of the dress exactly as I requested of her. She can seem a bit abrasive from time to time, but she knows what she's doing because she's been doing it for a long time. I couldn't have imagined using anyone but her! Well, I was recommended to use Maybe Sew by the boutique I bought my bridal dress from. This shop is located in a home business that is in a nice and quiet neighborhood. She has the setup in her shop as 2 rooms...one for her and her seeing machine and the other for all of the other dresses and for customers and their guests to get dressed/undressed in. I initially thought this was fine, but as instated inthink about how.my dress was hung with others dresses with the potential for my dress to become ruined by others drinks or by simply leaning on bags, etc I became worried until I received my gown back. I only had one actual alteration visit and the second visit was rushed as my promised to have my dress by a certain date so I had about 40minutes to complete all alterations. During this time she repeatedly called me bybthe wrong name after being corrected. Eventually she began to get it right. She also was a lol mouthy and snippy at times. Although I didn't like her attitude at times she got my dress to.me in a timely manner. Undid habe an issue with the price as she only took off maybe a half an inch off of the shoulder of my gown and I didn't have lace on it and the cost was over $300. She even mentioned to my maid of honor that her prices don't come cheap. Well, I expect excellence when I'm paying top notch money. At one point I was on the verge of having a birch fit with this lady b3cause she promised excellence and I had to flat out tell her that what inreveived in my gown was not excellence and it was sub par. After we got on the same page she worked to accomdate my liking and all was well. Overall, She's okay... very expensive though. She's bossy but is very confident in her work that makes you feel confident. Now her prices are high. If you're in a rut and need a job done asap them it recommend her as a last resort contender mostly because of the cost. read more

I found Leighanna through Circle Park Bridal, their top recommendation. My dress had thin straps that I my mom and I were very concerned about from the beginning. We asked Leighanna her opinion of the straps and she assured us 100% that the straps would NOT break. We trusted her after many times of her reassurance. The day of my wedding, right before the ceremony my strap was hanging by a thread. My strap ended up breaking at my wedding. I was extremely disappointed as Leighanna knew the fear we had of this happening... and it happened. Overall the tailoring of the dress was just perfect and and fit me well. Be sure you tell her what YOU want and how YOU feel in the dress. It's ultimately you wearing it and not her. read more

She will hold your wedding dress against your wishes if you do not choose to pay her prices. We have never come across someone like this in alterations, the police were called on her. Leighanna is so kind and caring. She will do what it takes to make you happy and always reminds you that she is there for you and to not worry. Importantly, she will do it right the first time and she is ALWAYS right. I was nervous about my dress being too low and she reassured me it would be fine- sure enough she was right. She made me a custom veil. When my bridal store didn't order me enough lace trim for my veil she made sure to make sure she did the best with what she got. She even had me come in to ensure I would be happy with the length and everything. It is beautiful and I am so happy. One quality about Leighanna I truly appreciate.. She is honest and tries to save you money. Instead of charging me to hem my gown a little (which she said would be expensive BC it is lace and needs to be hand sewn) she told me to buy a petti coat and then I wouldn't need to pay for it. When my friend took her bridesmaid dress, she told her she wasn't going to take in the bust 1/4 of an inch BC it wasn't worth the $40 it would cost and she was right. Most people do not have that integrity and will try to get every dollar they can out of you (Especially in the wedding biz) I really appreciated all she did for me and highly recommend her to anyone needing alterations. She is truly a pro. Ps. Many commented on her strong personality. She is honest and straight forward which you need when it comes to your gown. If you can't handle that then you don't deserve her. I HIGHLY recommend that all brides in the DFW area go see Leighanna for all her bridal alterations. I bought my dress in Austin and the boutique did not offer alterations so I brought the dress home with me to the DFW area. I looked up my options and noticed the high ratings for Maybe Sew. When I started reading all her reviews I knew she was going to be my top pick. I sent her an email and she instantly responded. When I called Leighanna to schedule my appointment for the initial fitting, she couldn't have been more accommodating. When I went to the first appointment to drop off my dress, she was ready for me, even when I showed up early. She efficiently and professionally showed me where my alterations needed to be. She even thought my dress might need a certain alteration along my hip area and made sure I knew that it could be an extra cost. Then, once she had me all clipped up (yes, she uses clips instead of pins so the fabric of the dress is not damaged or tears) she was thrilled to let me know the hip alterations would not be necessary! When I came back to do the final fitting, which was also the second fitting, she was once again, all set up and ready for my appointment. Also I need to note, I dropped my dress off at the end of January and I was able to come pick it up the end of March! She works hard and promises to have things done when she says she will (that is huge for brides!) When I tried on my dress it was PERFECT!!! She did the bustle exactly how I wanted it and she even danced with me to make sure I wasn't going to trip. Leighanna also does a fantastic job of making sure you know that should I need ANYTHING between now and the wedding to not hesitate to call her. Just because final payment was made doesn't mean she is done working with you. She cares a lot about her clients and it shows. My reveiws needs to start with don't buy a dress 5 sizes too big. Shame on Circle Park Bridal for selling me a size 12 dress that needed to be altered to about a size 2. I didn't know any better but they should have. The only decent thing Circle Park did for me what recommend Maybe Sew. Shame on them. That being said...I had a good experiece with Leighanna. Maybe a little abrasive at first, but she's really a sweetie. I took my size 12 dress to her for a consultation and she was confident she could make it what I wanted. I didn't leave it with her at first. I went back several weeks later for my first fitting and felt good about the directions of the alterations. However, when I picked up the dress I pretty mcuh knew that it just wasn't going to work and this was not her fault. I told her I was happy with the dress but after trying it on at home, I knew for sure. I really should have tried on more dresses, but I didn't..I found this one dress and went with it. Now I'm about 3 weeks out from my wedding and this dress either needed more work or I needed a new dress. I immediately ordered 2 more dresses in various sizes and called Leighanna. I couldn't even breathe, but she made sure I understood she would do whatever necessary and it could be done in time for the wedding. I took my dress back to her that day and showed her pictures of the other two dresses I had on the way. Basically the dress I bought and she altered, just wasn't what I wanted in the end. It wasnt' appropriate for the venue or me or anything...although it was a very lovely dress. I struggled with what to do. When my other dresses came in, I took the one I decided to go with to Leighanna and we pinned it for a hem. I picked it up a week later and while I waited she hemmed it just a tiny bit more...as this point I couldn't eat or sleep and to my OCD bain that tiny bit more was alot. She handled all of this very well. My dress turned out perfect as did my wedding. I would recommend Leighanna, but I would not recommend buying such a large dress in the first place. She took my monster of a bridesmaid dress (size 26 dress that should have been ordered as a 20) and made it look like it was custom made for my body. Before I took it to her I knew that she had her work cut out for her, but I didn't realize how much it was going to take. Leighanna was great to work with and very responsive. The only issue I had with my dress after the alterations is that it kept bunching up in my torso. I talked to another friend who had the same issue with her dress and her seamstress told her it was because there was too much fabric in the torso. I also have really long legs but a short torso so I think that was the issue which I felt could have been caught. But honestly I didn't notice until I was walking around at the wedding. Leighanna never took any measurements of me and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but the dress didn't feel quite right. In addition, the loops on the corset back she added in kept popping off. Not noticeable to anyone but me but it stressed me out. They also weren't evenly put on. But she did work with me in basically redesigning the dress so I was pleased with that. read more

Not the friendliest I must say. I was suppose to pick my dress up 2 days before my wedding but to my surprise it was not ready. That was my final fitting. My dress was not completed. So the next day I drove an hour away AGAIN to pick up my dress. I think she is over priced for the work that she does. LeighAnna's work in fantastic. It's such a stressor to trust your dress with someone, but you can trust her work! I brought my pre-loved dress to her and she was able to make it look like it was made for me. Her set up in her house is very professional. Make sure you plan ahead though because she has a large clientele. For my dress, I needed the neckline altered to lay flat in a spot. Perfectly done. I also needed the tulle and satin shortened. Easy peasy. Finally, I needed a new modesty piece. I bought the fabric and brought to her for the modesty piece. I bought way too much fabric and she made a wrap out of it for me in about 5 minutes! Also, I went for a fitting right a few days before my bridal shower. I brought my bridal shower dress with me (unbeknownst to her) for alterations. Sshe tacked the straps for pick up the next day!!!! I needed a bridesmaid dress altered and was referred to this place by another seamstress. Her name is Leighanna and she works out of her house. She's pretty flexible with appointments, but doesn't take people after 5 so you'll have to swing by on a lunch break or something. She was very nice and had my dress hemmed and tucked in like a week (which is pretty speedy). I think she can do things on a rush if needed (there is probably a fee I'm guessing). I don't get things altered very often so I'm not sure how good the pricing was, but it didn't seem unreasonable to me. read more

Leighanna just made a dress for my sister. I see that everyone else had a great experience with her. Apparently she was not the right fit for us. She wasted so much of our time, cutting out and sewing the pattern while my sister was there. I didn't realize we were paying to watch her to do the work. On top of being unprofessional in that way, she took way too long and did very poor, sloppy work. My sister's wedding is in 5 days. She picked up the dress today and it was NOT ready. The seams were so ugly. It looked like something a child had sewn. The hem was uneven!!! And the zipper was falling out. So - 5 days before the wedding we paid the bill and ran away. Just took the dress to the local seamstress on the corner who is going to save it. They were shocked by the sloppy work. I wish we could get our money back and I cannot, in good conscience recommend Maybe Sew to anyone. read more

She turned out to be terrible, she messed up my dress and wouldn't do what I wanted her to do in terms of fitting the dress to my body. I called another seamstress who recommended Leighanna. I saw all the rave reviews for Maybe Sew when I first bought my dress and had no doubt she would do a great job. Unfortunately, that was not my story. I had a simple dress several sizes too big that needed to be altered down. LeighAnna went on and on about how many times she had done this, so other than the fact that I thought she was a bit high on herself, I felt fairly confident after the first meeting. However, when I came in for my fitting the dress was not altered the way I expected. It was so tight I could barely breathe, and the fabric did not lay flat around my waist. She was very rude and abrasive the entire time which made me very uncomfortable. Everything I asked for her to fix she told me "that's how the dress is...there's nothing I can do". I had brought a friend with me, for support, and she saw the same rude behavior that I did. After she basically said she could do nothing else with the dress she asked if I was satisfied and I said "No...but you won't fix anything I have pointed out to you". The money I had to pay her to get the dress back was a waste. I luckily had time to take it to a (Russian) alterations place in North Dallas who had to essentially undo everything LeighAnna did. I had 4 fittings with the new alternations person and the total price was 1/3 of what LeighAnna charged me and it looked great. Not recommended. read more
