I was in dire need of a wedding dress in less than a month leading up to my wedding. Long story short, my original dress was hemmed too short and I couldn't wear it. So I was panicked because I didn't have time to order a dress didn't think I could find something off the rack. I also was worried I'd have to spend another $5k to get a new one. Let me tell you ladies! This place is straight heaven!!! I should have gone here from the start. Their prices are incredible! They sell sample dresses and they're not like other places where the prices are cheap because the dresses are destroyed. These dresses were in perfect condition. All the dresses I tried on were about $1,000 or less. The dress I ended up picking was only $400 and it was originally $3,800. I included pictures of some of the other dresses I tried on just to give y'all an idea of how high quality their gowns are. They don't have a huge selection but what they have is really great. And you have to try everything because you never know. The staff was so helpful. Sharon was truly an angle to me and my mom. She was not pushy and really helped me focus on my happiness and what I wanted. She even went across the street to get me a vail that matched the one I already had. And the way they work with you to size dresses that are too big is unlike any other store I've ever been too. It's hard to explain but they really help you visualize what a dress fitted to your body would look like so it's easier to decide. Having a store where you can just go and buy an affordable dress same day is such an amazing option. I cannot recommend Mollys bridal enough. Please please please to visit them! I called this salon and spoke to Lisa who verified they had a sample gown I had seen on their website and she thoughtfully put it aside for my daughter so we could come down and try it on. Lisa was so helpful in making suggestions for alterations and ways to personalize the gown. We tried on a $6000 Badgley Mischka for $1100 and a Pronovias gown that we tried on in an upscale bridal shop that same day which was $2690 at the other shop but the sample was $900 here. While I absolutely love my dress, I'm still not very happy with my experience there. First of all, they had maybe 6 dresses in my size and budget. I managed to find a few I liked, though. When we got there, we were let in and showed where the dresses were located and the lady helping left. I believe her name was Lisa. Then it was up to us to find the dressing rooms and try on the dresses, and clip the back, and we had her check in ONCE at the very end. When I found a dress I loved and wanted to buy, she came in and said "Well it isn't fitted correctly. You're busty like I am and I guarantee you won't like how it looks on you when it's fitted." So she adjusted the clips and said "See?" and I said "No, I still like it and plan to lose weight before the wedding so it will be able to be altered to my body better." and she LAUGHED at me. Thank you very much, I DID lose 20 pounds and dropped multiple dress sizes. If I didn't love the dress as much as I did, I would have left right then and there. I work on commission and customer service is extremely important for making sales. I definitely did not want to give her my money. When I've gone in for a fitting, everything was fine. The problem I have had recently was the fact that they didn't order the correct veil and then blamed that on me and my mom. The materials for my straps didn't come in at the same time as the dress (they may not be entirely their fault but I assumed it would all arrive at the same time), this means that I won't be able to take my bridal portraits because I'll be pressed for time with the alterations. The icing on the cake was when, after saying yes to a dress, she changed the lighting in the room so it really highlighted the dress and played my wedding song. Size 16-18 checking in. If you're a plus size bride who is overwhelmed at the thought of shopping in a sea of runway sample sizes and plagued by flashbacks of crying in Target fitting rooms, COME HERE. The store manager, Lauren, was my consultant and she was everything. SO encouraging, honest, and genuinely helpful. I wanted to try on every type of silhouette possible, and she was completely down for it. She made me and my group feel comfortable and entertained, while focusing on finding dresses that made me feel beautiful. This was my first appointment of the day, and I so recommend coming here before going to any "average size" shops. I felt so confident, like an actual real normal pretty human being. Lauren had a lot to do with that. I'm not a girly girl, so I initially felt clueless looking through the miles of tulle and lace. But the environment was welcoming and encouraging. I did not find my dress here on the first appointment, since most of the designers are fairly traditional and I'm an offbeat bride. But Lauren happily referred me to a sister store and a different consultant who might be able to help me more. (That speaks volumes about the customer service here.) read more

I've been to Molly's a couple of times already to look for bridesmaids dresses. It's a cute little shop that offers a variety of dresses from bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride to flower girl dresses. I've never really been able to order from them before because they require A LOT of time in advance for you to even be able to take a look at the dresses (around 6 months) which I think it's along time when other places have a faster turn around time. Anyway, this time we went with a lot of time in advance so we are able to order our dresses but still feel they try to rush you to place an order that's why I'm taking a star off. Service is great, this time wasn't so busy so it was great for all girls to try different dresses and choose from a variety of their samples. Make sure the designer carries the color your bride is wanting so you won't waste time looking thru those designers and save you some time. read more

DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT do your alterations at this place! It ended up being the most horrific experience at the end. I purchased my gown from Lulu's across the street and they were awesome so when they sent me to alterations to Molly's bridal I did not question it. Now the staff was nice and it made me feel like they listened to my requests but the alteration job itself was done so poorly they ruined my dress and I could not wear it and had to purchase a second dress a week before my wedding! I asked to secure the buttons on the back several times and after they reassured me they did that, as soon as picked up the dress they started to fall out. They made the back so small that all my skin on my back was pushed out. And guess what they said when I mentioned that? that on my wedding day I need to ask someone to just push my skin inside the dress, pretty much squeeze it in and I'll be fine. Needless to say, it looked so bad and was impossible to move in it. They had to redo the bustle as they attached huge plastic buttons on the back and you could see it from a mile away. But even after the second time the bustle still looked weird. All in all I paid over $1100 for alternations (which seemed way too much for the job) and you would think you'll get a very professional result, but it looked like it was done by someone who's never altered a dress before. And what they told me about the back being too small was just unacceptable. read more

Do not, I repeat DO NOT get your bridesmaids dresses from here. This place is a complete scam. Especially when it pertains to bridesmaid dresses. I was fitted for a dress in October they sized me at a 10. I told them absolutely not I wear a 2! I told them that would be WAY too big for me. I insisted on a smaller size and the only thing they would do for me is order me an 8. I had to sign a waiver saying I would "loose the weight". I signed it in hopes that maybe their sizes were different than other dresses. Fast forward a couple of months later I get my dress back in April. Try it on and sure enough it was HUGE I could literally fit two of me inside. Why do they do this you ask? They order you an oversized dress so that you will pay them to get it altered. More money in their pocket. I was so infuriated I took the dress somewhere else to get altered and because the dress was so much larger than I was I had to pay $200 in alterations. Yes you read that right TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS to fix their mistake. So now $500 later I have a dress that actually fits. Please do not let them do this to you!! read more

I drove in from San Antonio to come here because, my first couple of bridal appointments were a disaster and I left in tears. No one had what I wanted in my size and if they had my size it wasn't me or my style. My stylist was Marietta, who I truly believe is an angel, listened to what I wanted and asked me tons of questions to get to know me and my style. She is an expert and had great suggestions for customizations and slight changes to make my gown look perfect and fit perfectly. I had the best experience and the second one I tried on was THE ONE! I can't believe there aren't more reviews on here! After awful experiences at two other places who claimed to cater to plus sizes, I found A Curvy Bride. I actually left one place and drove straight to their shop and was still in tears when we walked in the door. The rest of the next hour was a blur of tulle and laughter. It was so much fun trying on dresses that actually fit me and worked well for my body type. I had a plethora of choices and ended up with the most beautiful Mori Lee gown. My bridesmaids were able to get Mori Lee bridesmaid dresses (short black lace, so cute!) at a 15% discount at Lulu's, their sister shop. It's all been an incredible experience. My experience at Molly's Bridal was perfect! The shop itself is gorgeous and the showroom is a glittering masterpiece. Courtney was super helpful and listened to everything I wanted. Not a single dress was shown that was out of my budget or style preference. She was supportive and lovely to my mother and best friends. Two stars because the dress ended up looking right from a distance but was not actually right. Purchased my dress at Lulu's Bridal across the street which is the sister company. Had a fantastic experience there, however for alterations they send you to Mollys. My first three fitting were great, they seemed knowledgeable and I was confident I was going to end up with a perfectly fitted dress which was my expectation for $750 in alterations. I had a heavily beaded dress, HEAVILY BEADED, so when I picked it up the day before the wedding and examined it there were clearly beads missing from the entire side of the bodice where it had been taken in. They tried to make it out like it wasn't missing, but when every inch of the bodice has beading and just the side doesn't, it is clearly missing. As well as it was not steamed and ready to go if all would have been good. The tulle was a mess, they said that we would just have to steam it later anyway. They added beading and steamed it and I picked it up a few hours later. Cool!! I wish I would have examined it further because what I didn't notice was the entire other side of the bodice was missing beading as well. Except at that point what do you do but deal with it. And they had taken the spare beading away when I picked it up the second time so my grandma couldn't even hand sew the extra beading back. Now onto the bustle, in the words of my wedding coordinator with 20 years experience "this is the most screwed up bustle I have ever seen." And she has seen ALOT of them. I had a ball gown, which i'm sure is a pain in the bustle department, but in twenty years she has seen many ball gowns. It took two people who had been taught how to do it at Mollys, the coordinator and my mother to get it done, and took forever and even then after I looked the next day because I was curious and they didn't even get it done right. Overall it really did look fine from afar and in photos, but your wedding dress should be 100% perfect, not just "fine in pictures" read more

I visited A Curvy Bride with my mom last week as my first wedding dress shopping experience. I was overjoyed to find a salon that specialized in plus size gowns because I had read that most salons sample sizes were a size 8. Being a size 14 I was hoping to find a place where I could try on samples that were more flattering to my figure and I could really get a feel for the style and silhouette that looked best on me. The shop is in a house and beware that parking is an absolute nightmare. No lot, just competitive street parking off of McKinney. Be aware when planning a trip. The house/ shop is very quaint and well decorated. We were greeted by Melissa who was my bridal consultant. She was incredibly warm, friendly and attentive from the start. She seemed genuinely interested in learning about me and the upcoming wedding. She never made me feel rushed and gave wonderful feedback. I am removing one star because most of the dresses seemed to be quite traditional and a bit basic. Perhaps that was what was in my price point but I was really hoping for some more modern silhouettes and options with delicate sleeves. Melissa did show me a beautiful dress they had ordered that is exactly what I am looking for, so it seems like they are really trying to select a wider range of styles. Overall, this is a wonderful salon and I definitely recommend Melissa for her expertise, friendliness and comforting demeanor. read more

First let me start by saying the service and friendliness was exceptional. Now, the reason for the three stars was the astronomical amount they charged me for my alterations. I bought my dress across the street and LuLus Bridal and then was sent to Molly's for alterations. My dress is lace, no beading, and pretty fitted until you get to the train. To hem my dress $200, to bring in the sides of the dress (barely) $200, to add an American bustle $120, then they were going to extend the "boning" of the dress an inch down to remove some wrinkles in the center as well as cut this tiny bit of extra fabric in the top center of my dress so it's more of a sweetheart (but not really). The extra fabric was no bigger than an inch $120. Grand total with tax $724. That is the cost of a dress from David's Bridal. I took the dress to another bridal boutique that's pretty well known in north Dallas and they're charging me $350-$400 for the exact same alterations. BUT when I told Molly's I needed to think about it (after I paid), because that was an insane amount for alterations, I came back and got the dress and they notified me they'd be charging me for pinning fees. read more
