My daughter was familiar with Mayday a locally owned ice cream parlor from a previous trip to St. Augustine and insisted that I go. I'm glad she did. The ice cream here is rich and delicious. There was a large variety with some unusual choices like "Rajah Honey" and olive oil. Faced with so many awesome choices we went with "the flight" which was six golf ball sized scoops to share. Each new bite was declared "the BEST" and in the end Caramel Queen was the winner. The server was so nice and they encourage you to sample any flavor you fancy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is no outdoor seating but plenty inside the cute shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Misleading GF labels. Heads up.. was super excited to go here! At first I wanted a scoop in a cup until a Mayday employee informed that all of the ice cream is cross contaminated at the factory and is unfortunately not safe if you're celiac or gluten intolerant. I also asked about the small individual container to take home and they said they're crossed too. Bummer! They label quite a few of the ice creams GF. :( read more

Seriously, go to Mayday. There is a Rita's and a couple of other ice cream shops on the main drag of St. Augustine Beach. Don't bother. Mayday is the place. With many creative flavors, this local made ice cream is fantastic. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. I got the coffee and donuts. How cool is this, the coffee used is roasted locally, it is the same coffee the serve in the store. The donuts are local glazed donuts, yes, real chunks in the ice cream, is from a local donut shop. Everyone in our party loved their ice cream. How much, we are headed back over there in just a few minutes. If you are beach side in St. Augustine, here is the perfect night. Dinner at Salt Life Food Shake, walk down to the water and pier, then walk down to Mayday. The walking makes the ice cream more guilt-free. Love this place. read more

We were craving ice cream and I wanted to try something new, so we drove down to the beach and stopped in to a Mayday ice cream for the first time. BIG MISTAKE!!! Their ice cream is AMAZING! The friendly server told us it is made fresh in Daytona, and they make their waffle cones every day in their local shop. My wife said it was the best ice cream and best waffle cone she has ever had, and if you know my wife that is saying a lot. They even have a few alcoholic flavors. Service was top notch and they encourage you to sample as many flavors as you'd like. Which makes it really hard to decide what to get... We are looking forward to returning and trying more flavors soon! read more

This is the best ice cream in town and I love this location by the beach. I come here as often as I can - whether it's coming by for a scoop after dinner downtown, grabbing a pint, or getting a bday ice cream cake. They have excellent waffle cones, homemade sprinkles (I LOVE them but my family finds them a bit too unusual), and so many great flavors of ice cream. My fav flavor is the Cookie Crush - it's the best cookies 'n cream kind of flavor I've ever had. Hands down. No contest. Get it! Other popular options in our family are the Parent Trap (more Oreos), Cloud 9 (tastes like the color white), and the Datil Dark. Haven't had a bad flavor and I've tired most of them, at least with all the samples they offer. Lovely staff and the line moves quick. We often sit inside to eat our ice cream bc they have a good amount of seating, though there's plenty of standing room in the parking lot too. Good parking for this beach town, but as always - walk or ride your bike if you can to avoid a headache. It's definitely less popular in the winter if that's when you're going. read more

Absolutely LOVED Mayday. Came twice on our trip, and I heavily considered adding a third time! They saw me struggling to pick a flavor and offered to split one scoop into two for me, which was awesome. During the first visit, I had salted caramel and banana pudding in a waffle cone. During the second, I tried the lemon and strawberry in a pretzel cone. The banana pudding and lemon flavors were my favorite, and the waffle cone was done so well. The pretzel cone didn't work for me, but the ice cream was so good that I will definitely be ordering some flavors through delivery. Amazing service and super cute store decor, too. read more

Later that evening I was checking my bank transactions, and low and behold I was charged $43.46 for my order. No way! I was not a fan. I reached out to the website email and explained the issue. I got a polite "I'm sorry you were quoted wrong" & a copy of the transaction. I also noticed a $5.67 tip that I am sure I never opted for as I never leave tips with a card payment it's usually always cash. Honestly there are many good home baked places around that are in a better price range , and handle issues better, than this one was taken care of.

The location was clean and welcoming. The unique variety of flavors were refreshing. I tried the cacao nibs which were amazing. The ice cream was wonderful! Even better was the service provided by Palmer!! She really made the experience wonderful!! I'm confident she didn't stop smiling the entire time. We had campbell he matched my vibe like a G and got me free sprinkles and galettes. He tried to to convert us to membership but sadly we are going back to Missouri. You should totally try it out!
