My 3 year old LG refrigerator started leaking water from the ice compartment over the memorial day…read moreweekend. Then by Monday, everything spotted cooling and all food was spoiled. Call Fair Repair on Monday of the memorial day weekend. Alex came out and diagnosed the fridge and said the compressor was dead. Told me the steps to get a new one ordered from LG, which is covered under warranty. They repair to install would not be covered. He gave me and price to replace and would waive the diagnostic fee if they were to install the new compressor. The compressor took almost 2 weeks to get from LG as their process is not acceptable but nothing to do with Fair Repair. Once Alex received the compressor we scheduled the date to install, he came on a Friday night and finished putting in the new compressor. Fridge is back up and even though LG is responsible for such a bad product, Fair Repair did an great job getting our Fridge back up and running. Give Alex a ring next time something (appliance) gives out on you within couple years of owning it.

He and his crew did a very thorough job with the air duct. They used a huge vacuum and other smaller vacuums all with HEPA filter. They also offered to clean the dryer duct and bathroom fan which they also did a great job with. Before they put back the vent cover, they put a filter on each one of them and turned on the furnace to let the filter catch any particles left in the vent which was a great idea. After it was done they showed me photos of the furnace blower and the before/after photos of the dryer duct. It is amazing to see how clean it is now. I highly recommend this company

I found this company on Yelp (via Clear Thumb) and they had fantastic reviews and referrals The team was over at our house this afternoon, and I appreciated getting a call from them in the morning with an arrival time. They immediately got to work, being careful to leave their shoes off, neatly removing vent covers, marking all the locations with temporary blue tape so that they wouldn't get mixed up and performing the duct cleaning. Afterwards, Diego pointed out that our vents in the rooms were not sealed against heat loss, something that should have been done when they were installed in the house the first time around and quoted us a great price for the service. He went through and put heat tape on all the vents - thank you! Beyond that, Diego thoroughly inspected the ventilation system and pointed out things for me to think about in the future, like the fact that the heating system had a vent going to our uninsulated garage and that we would save energy by closing it off permanently. There was so much water coming out and I wasn't sure what to do or how to handle the situation and so I started googling and yelping and doing whatever I could to try to find somebody to get it solved that night even though it was late in the afternoon. The gentleman that came to fix our boiler had his truck breakdown on the way over and several complications and yet he still showed up to help us and fix the boiler. He didn't let the rain or the broken truck stop him and he showed up at 8:30pm and had everything solved by 1030 10:30 pm. at night and I'm sure he hadn't eaten dinner. Also he didn't charge us a crazy emergency fee because his truck broke down and he was very reasonably priced and it was pretty amazing he still showed up after everything he went through in a super big rainstorm and a broken truck. Man we were so thankful because the hotter it was just leaking like crazy and flooding our utility room . Thor Mechanical really came through for us in a big way!

Unfortunately,…read moremy experience was disappointing due to poor communication, unreliable scheduling, and lack of follow-through. There were multiple times when dates were suggested for someone to come by, but no one showed up or I had to follow up myself to find out what was happening. When I did reach out, the appointment would usually be rescheduled rather than the company proactively communicating with me. I understand that contractors can get busy and schedules can change, but basic communication is important. If someone cannot make an appointment or needs to reschedule, I expect a simple call or message ahead of time. Instead, I felt like I had to keep chasing updates just to know whether anyone was coming. This was especially frustrating because I was willing to give them the opportunity based on a neighbor's recommendation. My final message was viewed, but I never received any follow-up from him or the company. At that point, the lack of response made it clear that I could not rely on them for the work. Based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable using Thunder Bay Electric or recommending them.
