Overall rating: 4.6 Super cute and intimate spot. I went around dinner time so it wasn't too crowded. The drinks were good but extremely expensive for the size of the place. It's a great place for a night cap. I'd recommend if you're in the area & looking for something quiet.

Cute little speakeasy-ish cocktail bar in Clinton Hill. We stopped here as part of the Winter Tippler tour to try out Mayflower's Negroni. It's definitely pleasing to the eye, but very much an acquired taste. It was the first time I've ever tried a Negroni and to be honest I don't think I'll be having one again (through no fault of the bar). This place is SMALL. So I can only imagine how packed it gets on weekends. We were lucky to choose to visit on a weekday night. The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly to us. He explained how they have a few signature cocktails but tend to make more of the classic stuff. They also have a pretty interesting beer menu as well. There's no kitchen here but thankfully the bar is attached to a restaurant so you won't have any trouble finding a place to eat. I may return if I'm around.

Nice place to grab a drink if you're ever in the Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn. Discovered this place during the Winter Tippler event. The ambiance is dark and intimate. Friendly bartender. A great place to relax and wind down.

Drinks are on point. Loved the scotch cocktail the bartender put together off the cuff. Smoky and decadent. Cozy and intimate spot for a late night cap. Just what the doctor ordered!

Very cool spot and cozy. But the bartender lady works alone and she is pretty rude and unhelpful.

Super cute quiet bar next to the same owner's restaurant. The bartenders were perfectly sweet and made a lovely pamplemousse drink.

It's super cozy inside, and they also give you pillows to sit on. Our server was really friendly and gave us great recommendations. We ordered a few different things to share for our party of two: - Bacon wrapped dates (5/5) so good!!! - Short ribs (5/5) I actually don't usually eat beef but these were so good and not dry. The orzo on the side also balanced it out well. - Kale salad (5/5) This seemed like a simple salad but it was so yummy and dressed well. The pine nuts tasted good with this too! - Vegan fruit sundae (2/5) Sadly this was the only thing that missed the mark. I didn't like the raisins and the almonds didn't really work well with everything but that was just me. The sorbet was also pretty sour. The best thing about this was the white cream on top (it tasted like real cream)

We tried many things, would 100% recommend the Patatas Bravas & Brussels. We both enjoyed the Beef Empanadillas but my friend through the Chicken Shawarma sliders were very cilantro forward. Dessert was nice as well, I think the only disappointing item was the Spanish Pitza which we both didn't like. Very nice space, aesthetically pleasing. Can definitely see myself coming back to continue exploring the menu

So considerate! The prix fixe was really good value - starter, main, desert AND a bottle of wine for $99! The salad was really tasty, I liked the warm walnuts and the figs added a nice contrast of texture and sweetness. Of the other items in the tasting board, I really enjoyed the Kashkaval cheese. We didn't opt for any add ons/fondue dippers with our fondue, so only had bread. While we did feel full at the end, next time I'd go for an add on for more variety. Highly recommend and can't emphasize the warm hospitality and great service enough.

And because I was looking forward to fondue that day, we decided to go with the regular menu. The base fondue was $24/pp which I think was really reasonable. We ordered: ~ Cheddar & Cider fondue - Cheddar, cider, onion jam (the flavors really complimented well. The cider gave it a nice sweetness to the cheese. I can eat the cheese all day) The fondue was served in a cast iron pot and you get baguette for the dipping. You can pay more for additional add ons but we decided to just stick with the baguette. ~ Two Skewers Plate (Kofte Colorado lamb, herbs, spices & Chicken yogurt, red pepper, herbs, spices) Served with house-made harissa and tzatziki, and a choice of mushroom bulgur or squash caponata. ( We were informed if you don't like olives go with the mushroom bulgur, which we did). Initially I was worried the chicken skewers would be too dry ( as that is the case for a lot of places) but no, the chicken wasn't dry and it was well seasoned. I'm happy that I went. It's a cute little date spot to do fondue.

The food is probably the closest you can get to actual Spanish tapas but what i love most about this place is that everythings got flavorrrrr For our table of 4 we got CROQUETAS with their house cured chorizo- very good POLLO FIORENTINA- chicken was so tender and packeddd with flavor! BARRIGUITA- plentiful serving for a tapa, we loved the potatoes it came with too CHICHARRON DE POLLO- flavorful chicken and easier to eat than you think TARTAR- delish but small Chipirones- sooo delicately breaded you can barely tell, was great COSTILLA A LA PLANCHA- plentiful for a tapa, we recommend cooking for longer since its traditionally a tough cut of beef SAUTED VEGETABLES- tastey and not mushy thankfully! The food was absolutely amazing really flavorful and well done. Just be a little prepared that most dishes come in smaller portions. But the quality definitely makes up for it. I ordered the paella, and it's easily enough for two or even three people and it was well worth it. Really delicious. The drinks were also definitely worth trying while you're there. The only thing I wasn't big on was the desserts they didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. But overall, great atmosphere, excellent food, and a fun experience. I'd definitely come back.

To find Debajo you have to find the staircase leading down as this is below ground level - hence the name. DO NOT GET the queso - it's literally a couple thin slices of cheese, a tiny bowl of almonds, and some tomato mixture. You can add bread for like $7 on top of the original $16 price - actually ridiculous for what you get. The roasted duck breast was flavorful and tender, and the bavette steak was even better. But don't let the basement level dissuade you; they really turn their location into a strength. There's a covered "outdoor" section with lots of natural light, and the inside is spacious and modern, with a semi-open kitchen that makes it feel like you're in a place twice its size. The tapas we tried were great. Patatas bravas were crispy on the outside, with a fluffy inside, and maybe a touch too much salt. The hamachi crudo was excellent, with a unique coconut and mango sauce that gave it a touch of sweet to go with the zest. And the pulpo was great, the octopus was well prepared and the sauce was hearty without dominating the taste. The half chicken was the most memorable dish; our server recommended it, and it's clear why. It was unbelievably juicy and tender, with plenty of lemon flavor in every bite. Lots of meat, don't expect a small plate like the other menu items! All in all a good experience in a nice atmosphere, definitely staying on the list for tapas in the future.

Unfortunately this place fell very flat. Leading with what we liked: Their mocktail offerings were good, promising a 0.0% ABV which is hard to come across when mocktails are offered. They serve oysters, which adds to that aphrodisiac experience of the oh so 'wow this is a former brothel!'. The bartenders and servers were fast and very sociable with the more sociable customers. The immediate entrance is very tight, and it was uncomfortable navigating the space. We expected there'd be more seating in the back, which there was, but it was limited and not offered to us until we asked for it. We honestly had no clue where it would be and only asked because of how this place was advertised. While it was comfy once we made our way back there, it was reminiscent of a lounge style bar space that almost any bar could replicate with the right room and budget. We didn't feel as though this hit the spot and were let down by this experience. I'm not sure if I can judge the menu of drinks/ foods as expensive, but we left hungry bc we couldn't justify some of the prices. In addition, I've seen a lot of complaints about the volume of the music: it's definitely loud at the front but a lot lower in that back lounge space. It's as loud as any bar's music level would be, but truth be told we were expecting music that matched the vibe of what was advertised and yes, at a lower volume.
