This Spanish tapas and wine bar is a great cozy spot in Nomad. Service here is really quick and the vibe is perfect for a date night! I got their charcuterie, hamachi crudo, and duck breast as well as their albarino wine. Everything was great to share. I loved their wine selection and would highly recommend adding at least a glass to pair with your meal. Out of the dishes that I got, the favorite was definitely the duck breast which had a date-based puree that was absolutely delicious. The other bites were alright. Nonetheless, it was a very warm and cozy vibe--great for an intimate dinner!

Gambas. The shrimp was fresh and perfectly cooked. The roasted garlic was great to spread on the bread. In the background are the pickles.

There are many pics on Yelp of the paella and the octopus but on my visit they did not have it on the menu. It was disappointing but the other dishes made up for it. No reservations and they sat us! This was towards the end of the evening. Must get if you're adventurous: Anchovies - these are raw in a seasoned oil that comes with olive tapenade. You eat it with the bread and it's a great appetizer! Also, the pickles. This is a side dish, not free. But they come with pickled chilis. The food would not have been as yummy as it was without the chilis. Must get them! They also come with other types of pickles. For the basic folks: The Gambas (shrimp) is a great starter! The roasted garlic that it comes cooked with spreads nicely over bread. The bread is free and you can keep asking for more. Pork belly! It was very good but some parts were tough and chewy. The fatty edges were the winner. There was nothing special about their version but pork belly fried like this is special as it is! I would skip next time: I would try something else other than the chips. It's a bit salty and the dip is too. They also have a very tasty non alcoholic wine that I ordered. It was surprisingly very dry and tasty. Not sweet at all. The ambiance is casual and the service is fairly quick. It's attached to the Made Hotel at the bottom. The entrance is on 28th street but there are steeps steps. If you want to take the elevator go into the hotel. Overall the food was good and the prices were fair for NYC. We went about an hour before closing and the vibe was very chill. However, because we dined late they were out of a few dishes.

Amazing food! Debajo is a hidden gem. The braised short rib and patatas bravas were our favorite; out of the two times we've been here we've ordered them.

Loved how cute and secluded this bar is - nice space under the hotel with great wine and some Spanish classics. The other reviews are right, the place is pretty pricey (steak dish over $40 for a few pieces and no wine bottles under $55) but once you commit everything's delicious. Great places for a date night or occasion

The food, service and beverages were amazing. Definitely visiting again!! Cool Vibe in the cellar and upstairs is a coffee house with cocktails. Super clean - super friendly!!

Debajo is a cute spot located in the basement of a hotel my friend and I ordered the patatas bravas and the pulpo rice. Unfortunately the pulpo rice also came with potatoes so our meal was 80% potatoes. However, the food came out pretty quickly. The octopus was tender, and the patatas bravas were well seasoned. We also ordered a basque cheesecake at the end which was pretty yummy.

A very cute space that fits the restaurants name Debajo - you follow the stairs outside that lead you downstairs to this cozy oasis! Of the tapas, I particularly enjoyed the Grilled Octopus and the Little Gem Salad - the refreshing crunch was just what I needed. I've wanted to try the octopus with the forbidden rice but it was not available that day.

The food and ambiance are good. It took me a while to find it since it is underground as the name suggests. Prices are a bit high.

Debajo is a restaurant located under the Made Hotel. It's not huge, which gives that level of intimacy. I see that it's rated pretty highly here, but I give it a 4 stars at best. The food is pretty good, but are the tapas spectacular? Not particularly. The PCT/pan con tomate is tasty, but it's standard -- and I can say the same for everything else. The biggest disappointment for me are both the sangrias. We ordered two pitchers, one of the red and white each. Not only did it taste watered down, it didn't have the signature fruit. Service was ok, it was one guy I saw seating and serving everyone.

Delicious and fresh Spanish food tucked away in a downstairs restaurant. Service was decent and the food was a real throwback to Madrid. The waiter recommended 2-3 tapas per person and 1 main to share for every 2 people, so we ended up getting the Patatas Bravas, Cauliflower, Brussels, Olive + Sardines, Tomato Bread, Jamon, Octopus and Babette Steak. I'm pescatarian so couldn't eat Jamon or Steak but my favourites from the rest were the Olives and Tomato Bread. Patatas were a bit too saucy for me so the potatoes were no longer crisp. Cauliflower and brussels tasted a bit Chinese which was unexpected. I also looooved the desserts and thought they were the highlights - lava cake and panna cotta were both absolutely amazing. They sound like relatively simple dishes but were some of the best I've had!! Panna cotta was the perfect texture and the lava cake was so chocolately and gooey. We also got a pitcher of Sangria which totaled around 5-6 glasses and was good, not too sweet.

The food and service here is great, just a little pricey for tapas. My favorites from what my friend and I ordered were the patatas bravas ($16 for a good portion - loved the sauce) and pulpo rice ($29 for an appetizer portion). Not sure if I'd return given the price point but the food is delicious, just a little expensive if you're ordering multiple tapas to be full.

The place is nice and comfortable. It has a modern look. The service is ok. The staff know the food and they are attentive. The food is "ok". Perhaps I am picky because I know Spanish food. I know some of the dishes are just canned even though they could actually make them by themselves (as they do in most spanish bars). I thought the chistos would actually be the sausage, but it's more like little hotdogs! The best dishes: the octopus is good (I wonder if they buy the octopus raw and cook there - I didn't ask). The patatas bravas were good. The shrimp were good. The cauliflower was tasty but it was not really a Spanish dish. I've stayed away from Spanish food in NYC so I can't compare but it is inferior to at least most bars in Spain.

Food has good flavors but I think it was due to them just opening & not even staff that the service was very slow, they did apologize & comped the salmon along with giving another croquette dish, so nice of them and really appreciated it! It is pricey for these tapas but I did enjoy them, I would say the duck was salty but the ham croquettes, octopus, salmon, potatoes bravas was good. It's located downstairs from a hotel, nice speakeasy decor. I'll come back again for another try!

The restaurant is elaborately decorated with beautiful pink flowers and greenery. We sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and let us know it was happy hour, with $2 off cocktails, beer, and wine. I got their espresso martinis (actually, I got a second one when I finished it cause why not), and my husband got their mule, which had a nice piece of candy, ginger, and a light in it. We were only here for drinks and apps as we had dinner a couple of hours later. We went with the tempura oyster mushroom tacos (they are very mini) and the everything Ttaokboitti. We loved them both so much! The little tacos come with three, but they can add another for an upcharge. We just ordered another batch (they are mini) because they were so delicious. The Ttaokbotti was so so good, and since it reminded me of an elevated mac and cheese, it was my favorite.

About 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday night there were some people waiting for the doors to open. Once we asked for a table, we were asked to step to the side so reservations could be checked in first. Luckily in a few minutes we were offered seats at the bar since they had full reservations that night. The bar was comfortable and the bartenders were great. I loved watching the cocktails being made and speaking of cocktails, they are excellent. The Bool included tequila, pomegranate and jalapeño; the other cocktail was a spritz of sorts and both were fabulous. The menu is Korean tapas, so we ordered a bunch of items to try. As each dish was served the server described the dish and even provided some instructions on the best way to eat it, if applicable. Tuna Tartare was quite good, the knife cuts were a bit inconsistent which was surprising given the level of everything, but the dish was still enjoyable; citrusy with crispy sunchoke chips. Oyster Mushroom Tacos were incredible. It didn't even feel like I was eating mushrooms. The tacos were so falvorful and balanced. If they ask you if you want to add a 4th taco to the dish, definitely say yes. Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice served with a beautifully runny egg brought the spice and the dish was both elegant and homey at the same time. Just wonderful Birria Mandu served in a bone marrow consume was spectacular. Fried Chicken Wings, we opted for the sweet and spicy version served with kimchi daikon were sublime and addictive. They also provided a wet towel with the dish so you can clean up afterwards. Those 5 dishes were a good amount of food to feel satisfied, but we couldn't stop there and needed to try dessert. Do not pass up the Black Sesame Bread pudding, it was sublime. Served in a sizzling cast iron pan with candied almond slices and ice cream. It was so unique and really really delicious. The whole experience from the hostess to the servers to the food was A+ and I can't wait to go back.

There were two-three fairly larger hunkers which we had to cut up but otherwise flavor was nice. Next came the top sirloin cooked to medium with a bed of roasted carrot purée and a salsa sauce. The sirloin was seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection- very tender! By far my favorite dish! The calamari was a bit of a disappointment. It was fried too crispy and lost the calamari taste. Although the song is about love,…read moreand not dining, I've found that when I have an impeccably perfect time at a restaurant, the subsequent visits just don't measure up to that first time. And this isn't entirely the restaurant's fault: when, as a customer, you've already tasted a good part of the menu, seen the decor, experienced the good service and ambience, it's really hard for future visits to be "as good as the first time." But then there's Parlour Room that dazzles me every time I visit New York. Last Saturday we sat at the same booth as our first visit and were lucky enough to have Jesus as a server again. I was so excited to see him. We had so much food that we had to take a good amount to go, but let me give you the rundown. New things we tried this time: Octopus: I've never had octopus in my life. And I've never wanted to try it. No interest at all. But a Parlour Room suggestion? Okay, sure. I trust it. And guess what? 10/10 Ribs: The presentation was pretentious in the best way, but still, my expectations weren't too high. BUT they rivaled the best soul food restaurant. Fall off the bone and full of flavor. I couldn't believe it. Another 10/10 Mac and cheese: I wasn't enthusiastic about ordering this because I didn't want all the carbs and cheese. Then I couldn't stop eating it. 10/10 The usuals: burger and fries, meatballs, and deviled eggs. Always 10/10, or 5 stars, in Yelp standards. :) The drinks and dessert were unbelievably decadent as well. As usual. What an evening. One more thing...They changed the menu recently, and in my experience, that usually means some sort of disappointment as you discover they've gotten rid of your favorite dish, added uninteresting things, and/or consolidated the offerings in general. But Parlour Room was thoughtful in this regard--unlike anything I've seen before. And what a relief. When I didn't think the menu could get any more perfect, they went and concocted another level of perfection. Oh, I love this place.
