I was looking for a place close to work and was impressed by previous reviews. It's in a business park and pretty convenient to get to. Quiet location with plenty of parking. Nice menu with plenty of options. Gentleman was very kind. I ordered the Chicken Chipotle sandwich. It was prepared quickly, which I appreciated so I could get back to the office. There is plenty of seating available and the shop offers a cozy, welcoming vibe. Sandwich was so delicious! Good flavor, with quality ingredients. I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches.

Found a yummy lunch spot! My work has me travel to different sites so when I came to work at this location, my colleagues all highly recommended Mayhew. The chicken chipotle sandwich was at the top of their recommendations, so that's what I ordered! Thoroughly enjoyed that sandwich! I was full and satisfied. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch spot!

A service oriented mom and pop shop with a great selection of hot and cold sandwiches wraps, salad and a daily soup. To complete your meal grab a bag of chips and a bottled drink and if you are lucky, some baked goods. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, but i haven't had the pleasure of trying them yet.

An extremely inexpensive place to enjoy a simple bagel or burrito breakfast. The owner was very nice. My bagel was perfectly proportioned of cream cheese to avocado ratio. There is plenty of seating and parking. There is coffee, chips, salads, soup and a variety of drinks. Prices range from $2.50 - $8

    Pesto Chicken. Added sprouts.

I chose that i wanted liverwurst bc i assumed most people dont want that, so i got a liverwurst only sandwich. I thought they would do liverwurst and add other meats. Wouldn't be bad if the liverwurst wasnt so bland and had some flavor. My wife ordered the French bistro and circled ham....she got two sandwiches. One French bistro and one ham sandwich so we ended up with three sandwiches. The value is at least there....you can get filled up with half a sandwich. The liverwurst was saved by me mixing it with the ham sandwich. Worker was a little lazy and didn't cut the sandwich all the way through on 2 out of the 3 sandwiches and bc the crust is so thick, we ended up ripping one bread awkwardly. All in all it was worth getting 2 sandwiches. I would suggest the soft sourdough cause the regular and Dutch is a mouth and jaw destroyer.

My to-go order is the Hornet on a Dutch crunch roll with everything on it except mustard. Make it a combo with chips and a drink, and you'll have an incredible lunch. The ambiance is different from other sandwich spots in midtown. The chairs and tables are older and worn, and it's small inside, but it's also inside an old house that was converted into a restaurant. That alone makes this place unique. People hang out inside or outside with friends and enjoy the vibes. There's a real sense of community that the Sandwich Spot brings along with uniquely crafted sandwiches. All of the sandwiches are named after people or landmarks in Sacramento. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and will help you with recommendations if you're not sure which sandwich to get. It honestly feels like you're in the company of good friends. The staff joke around and seem to enjoy their job and working together. I think my only complaint was that basically all the sandwiches had 2 to 3 sauces so its a bit much and messy. I omitted the italian dressing on my sando because im allergic to olive oil but im sure it was good. I also think the wait was a little long for the sandwich, not terrible but for a place that only makes sandwiches it was a little slow. It was busy so I will definitely give them that. For those living in the neighborhood this is such a convenient spot. This is a smaller grocery store so you won't be able to find everything, but what they do have is plenty. There's fresh produce, wine, beer, shelf stable items essential to everyday recipes, and where they really shine is their deli and butcher area. They also have some prepared items like desserts, salads, dressings, pickles, dips, and more. On my latest visit I ended up ordering their Italian Hero ($11.99) from the deli counter, and picked up some of their pickles and house made caesar dressing. Everything was high quality and I loved that they have these options available. The Caesar dressing is delicious and I'll definitely be stopping in again for more. I've been using it on salads since picking it up. It had a good amount of parmesan cheese so The pickles have a very unique flavor, they're definitely tasty but not my favorite version of Dill Pickles- they are more tangy and zingy that traditional dill pickles, not bad just not what I expected. (I was thinking more kosher dill, like Claussen pickles or like the pickles you'd get at a Jewish deli). The sandwich was the star of the show, for $11.99 it was HUGE, the Italian Hero comes with prosciutto, mortadella, salami, roasted red bell pepper, and provolone- all sandwiches also come with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and pepperoncini. The combination of ingredients on Dutch Crunch bread was amazing and I think having roasted red peppers as an option is underrated, it elevates a sandwich so much. While I wouldn't do my normal shopping here, I would absolutely come for specialty items or pick up needed items for convenience. I'll be back again soon!
