Had lunch with my sons at the Spot when I was in the area. Nice little place and wasn't too busy when we went inside. We ordered the Jailo Kailo, Holly Molly and Zoom Zoom sandwiches. All three sandwiches were on Dutch Crunch bread. The sandwiches had a decent amount of meat and the rest of the fillings were good. They have a small fridge for bottled drinks and a fountain machine for you to serve yourself if you want. (However fountain does not dispense ice so they have ice in front to provide. I brought my pregnant sister to The Sandwich Spot after her appointment. She was craving their meatball sandwich on sweet bread. I thought that was a weird combination, so I asked what was popular and went with one of their recommendations, the #16. The Holly Molly, on Dutch crunch. I guess that's where I went wrong... the bread, and I stuck with my typical kind of order. Turkey. I should have branched out and tried something new! The #16, Holly Molly, is one of their popular sandwiches. Turkey, with avocado, cream cheese, and bomb sauce (spicy ranch.) I got it on Dutch Crunch bread. My sister ordered the #23. The Tik Tok on sweet bread. It has meatballs, marinara, and provolone cheese. We sat in a spacious bright dining room with big open windows while we waited for our sandwiches. It didn't take long. They called us up to grab them. These looked great! My sister gave me a bite and that's when I knew I made the mistake, lol! Her's was sooooo gooooooood! The sweet bread was warm and soft. The provolone was melted over the meatballs and marinara... my mouth is watering now just describing it! Mine was... meh. The Dutch crunch was so thick and hard. For a bread like that, it needed a lot more mayo and/or bomb sauce. I barely made it through a quarter my sandwich by the time my sister finished her meatball sandwich. Lol. I could also tell that sweet bread was a very popular choice by hearing all the customers order it for their sandwiches in it. The employees were great! All of the Sandwich Spot locations are independently owned and operated. This one is tucked away in a small quiet strip mall in Rosemont. We came here for lunch, and were impressed by their large menu. They have a large variety of sandwiches, with different meat combinations. They also take the guess work out of wondering if the sandwich is served hot or cold, if the name of the sandwich is in red, it's hot, and if the name of the sandwich is in blue, it is cold! We went with the Jailo Kailo, which is a hot sandwich, it has hot turkey, bacon, and avocado, and the Boogie Woogie which is a cold sandwich, it has turkey, roast beef, and ham. All of their sandwiches come with mustard, mayonnaise, secret sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, peppers. I highly recommend to not skip the secret sauce, it's so yummy and garlicky, and really ties everything together. We enjoyed our sandwiches, they were fresh, and tasty. We found the Sandwich Spot to be reasonably priced. For two sandwiches, two drinks, and three bags of chips, it was right under $38. There was plenty of parking outside, it was clean, and the two ladies that worked there were very nice. I was only able to eat half of my sandwich, they wrapped the second half up for me so I can take it home. Pros 1) plenty of parking. When we arrived for lunch, there were lots of parking. 2) there were 2 women working there. Very nice ladies. They were they ones that made our pastrami sandwich ($14.00). 3) on my half of the pastrami sandwhich, I got everything on it. On my SO's half, just pastrami, lettuce, cheese and sauce. 4) sandwich tasted good. We only got the sandwich. Nothing else with it. 5) restaurant looked clean. I didn't see anyone eating in there. 6) nice and large menu selection. 7) I saw 3 flavor of ice cream. But didn't want ice cream today. 8) they have a printer. So if you need to print something, you can print it here for a fee. 9) they have a program you can join. For every dollar you spend, you get points and goodies with this points. Not sure what kind of goodies, since this was my 1st time there. Cons 1) my SO feels there should have been more pastrami for the price he paid for it. Pastrami was very little. For me, it was just enough. 2) Conclusion Cute little restaurant. Clean. Nice staffs. Sandwich good. It was quick to get our sandwich. They made it on the spot. Plenty of parking. The sandwich, well, it wasn't the greatest but not to their fault whatsoever, just didn't care for it that much. I visit this place periodically and I've always left happy. I recently had a lengthy amount of time when I hadn't been in and, upon my return, the owner even acknowledged my lengthy absence. She made me feel wanted. I went in again yesterday and she knew my order before I could place it. That's great customer service. I typically get a spicy tuna melt panini and it's always perfect. A friend wanted to meet me for lunch today near his office and he suggested a different Sandwich Spot. It just ok. I was disappointed because it was not nearly as good. Perfectly good lunch for a reasonable price. Nowadays with most meals getting more and more expensive, it's nice to be able to spend less than $15 and be fulfilled. I got a "custom" sandwich - salami and cheddar on Dutch crunch with an unsweetened tea and a bag of chips for just under $14. The bread was a little dry, and not quite as crunchy as I would like, but it still scratches the Dutch crunch itch. Honestly, I haven't found a sandwich spot in the greater Sacramento area yet with a perfect Dutch crunch. Hopefully eventually! The rest of the sandwich was just as I hoped. The salami was tasty, veggies were fresh, and the cheese was exactly as I hoped. The same goes for the chips, where you can choose from a reasonable selection. (Sun chips for me) One of my happy surprises here was the unflavored, unsweetened brisk tea. Usually the only tea options in places like this are raspberry, but it's nice to have just a normal old iced black tea. Bonus points from me here. Other things of note - The inside of the restaurant is relatively calm and quiet, and feels like a relaxed atmosphere. The service can be a bit slow sometimes while they work on the sandwich, but they'll ensure your instructions and customizations are correct, so it's worth the delay!
