Little Manila Market - Ilocos Empanada, comes with a spicy vinegar sauce

@fortunefoodfinds: "FRIED my best to only take a few bites! Picked up Turon, Taro Cascaron (or…read moreCarioca as I like to refer to it), n' an Ilocos Empanada from LITTLE MANILA MARKET in Ewa Beach. When you grow up with these desserts or start craving the popular orange Filipino street food, the comfort it brings just puts you in a good mood!" SERVICE: friendly INTERIOR: tiny but mighty with lots of Filipino snacks, sauces, sweets, etc. Organized n' well stocked. EXTERIOR: located at Ho'opili WAIT TIME: none PARKING: street OVERALL COMMENTS: wanted to check out what products n' hot food they had available. Visited on a Saturday, which was good bc I learned that they only offered hot food on the weekends per the lady who was working. I really wanted an Ilocos empanada so I was glad to see that they had it the day I went. I ended up air-frying it when I got home. It was still good even after the egg got double cooked. Had yummy flavor n' I liked that the vinegar it came with had a nice lil' kick of heat. The taro carioca was my favorite. Sweet crackly exterior, chewy inside similar to like mochi, n' you could taste the taro. I like my turon made with a long wrapper; get more crunchy sections from the ends, so this was the kine of turon I like. Also it has a caramelized outside adding extra flavored sweetness n' crunchiness. It's great knowing there is a Filipino market that carries a wide variety of products n' serves hot food too!

Past Little Manila Market many times... My daughter shared with me that they serve Filipino hot…read moredishes and desserts. This is one of my favorite foods, SO of course I had to go check it out for myself. Unfortunately, at the time I went there it wasn't available, and was told it wouldn't be available until about 10:30 am. So, I browsed around Little Manila Market... It's a small market and the name says what exactly you'll find here. I seen there was Puto; A steamed rice cake slightly sweet & topped with cheese for $7 for a pack of 6. I purchased a container, Let me say it was very delicious! I opened it up in my car on my way to work and couldn't stop eating it. If I could have I would have eaten all of it before reaching Waikele. I wanted to share some with my husband so I shared 2 with him. I'll be back for more! Hot foods are available: Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays. Location: Ho'opili next to Haus Of Puas. Parking: Street Parking. Seating: Outdoor, tables with umbrellas. Looking forward to trying their Filipino hot dishes & picking up a container or two of Puto. One for me and one for the husband.

This is definitely a place you need to try if you love seafood! Everyone was very friendly and…read moreefficient. It was clean and you could smell the fish but it didn't smell bad like some fish markets do. You can choose your fish and they will clean it and cook it for you-there are also several restaurants inside that we will be back to try because they looked and smelled great!

I saw a post on IG about a beef bone soup with noodles that I wanted to try. It took about 20…read moreminutes from the time I ordered, till my food was ready. Odd, as nothing really needed to be "cooked" very long. I noticed immediately that a majority of the tables were disgusting and there are flies buzzing around. In any case, I still decided to order my food as "dine in." I did some shopping while I was waiting, and of course, while I was standing in line (almost 20 minutes later) my beeper went off. You cannot silence it, so I ended up abandoning my place in one of the three cash register lines. Since there are only 3 lines, they do not move quickly. This is prime time on a Saturday, mind you. I went to turn in the beeper and get my soup. The soup comes in a flaming box with a bowl shaped opening with feet, where the stainless seet bowl sits. Now, I get that the flaming box is meant to keep your soup hot... However, WE ARE IN HAWAII. The ambient temperature isn't going to cool down the soup dramatically. IN FACT, I HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE WAITING FOR THE FLAME TO GO OUT, BECAUSE MY SOUP IS TOO HOT TO EAT. Additionally, because the bowl sits on feet, the beef bones weight keeps spilling the soup off one end. The soup is delicious, but this is the stupidest execution and presentation of something meant to be delicious and simple. Also, if the bowl is too hot to hold and drink from... soup spoons would be awesome. ‍

Shopping in Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i…read more.. When I saw that there was a third location of One 2 Buy, I thought, "Wow, they must be doing well!" I'm glad that the first location moved to Coral Street... it has better lighting, parking, and organization. The second location in Pearl Kai is also new and clean! This third location, inside of Keiki Kingdom, has more of a warehouse vibe. There are open cardboard boxes so that customers can see the products. I like the fact that there are prices on most items. It's a satisfactory place to find unusual Asian snacks. My friends liked the Hawthorne candy - it was like individually wrapped fruit roll ups! The green onion crackers had packs of eight crackers in the bag. It's a fun experience! Take a look around! Parking is free! Note: this used to be a Walgreens!

A Waipahu Treasure Hunt!…read more One2Buy just opened in the old Walgreens location in Waipahu (across from the former Don Quijote), and you truly can't miss it....the building is painted bright and loud in the best way. When you walk in, you can tell they're still setting up, but it actually adds to the experience. The front is filled with claw machines, giving it a fun arcade vibe before you even get to the good stuff. Then you head in deeper and suddenly you're surrounded by rows of exotic snacks and foods from all over the world. Half of it I've never heard of, the other half I've only seen scroll past on TikTok. It felt like a full-on treasure hunt trying to figure out what everything was....thank God for Google Translate because nothing is labeled in English and nothing is priced. We just threw everything into our amazingly smooth shopping cart and hoped for the best at checkout. Honestly? No regrets at all. The best part is taking all your treasures home and having a blast opening everything and doing your own taste test or mukbang. It's such a fun experience, whether you go with kids, friends, or just your adventurous self. If you love discovering new snacks or want a quirky little adventure in Waipahu, definitely check this place out. Excited to see how it looks once they're fully set up!
