Large open grass area - perfect for sports and recreational activities

Maywood Park is one of my favorite parks in the South Bay. There are a lot of seating areas with tables and grills, so it's a perfect place to have a bbq or picnic! There's also a Safeway really close by on Stevens Creek in case you need to pick up some charcoal or last minute BBQ material. They have a playground area and large open fields - great for sports and recreational activities. There's also plenty of shade in both the grass areas and seating areas. There are restrooms located in the back of the park near the tennis courts. They also have a rec center that runs summer activities for kids and can be rented out. The park is also dog-friendly (I always see people walking their dogs here). They also have tennis courts in the corner of the park, but these fill up pretty quickly. There's a small parking lot near the tennis courts and tons of free street parking. Something to note is that the park is connected to Eisenhower Elementary School's playground. When school isn't in session, anyone is free to use the school's amenities including basketball hoops, wallball courts and additional playgrounds. I've been coming here for a few years now for my morning runs, reunions with friends, and picnics/BBQs.

That tiny building in the very far back is the bathroom, pretty far from the playground.

First impression is that it looks small, quiet, clean and simple. There is a baseball diamond, three tables with one barbecue pit, a few benches to sit on, a playground, a decent sized flat grass area and on the opposite side of all of that is the bathroom. A little far away from the playground so if you have little ones who are just getting potty trained, this may be too far of a journey for them to hold it. The playground is pretty small but it is still fun. It has a little bit of everything. It is on a sand so the kids can run around barefoot. The little kid playground is right next to the big kid playground, so it's great if you have multiple aged children. The only concern I have is the structure is made of wood and I got a splinter on my elbow from rubbing against it. Also, it is next to a pretty busy street, so keep your eyes on your children. I would not go out of my way to come to this park but if I happen to be in the area I wouldn't hesitate to stop.

The perfect location is underneath the trees by the tennis courts and round amphitheater-like concrete.

While it has some inclusive features, many structures don't feel designed with littles or kids with disabilities in mind. There are open stairs and gaps with no barriers, which made it stressful as my son kept running toward unsafe areas. We liked the climbing section with the big slide, but access wasn't very accessible and things got chaotic with kids not taking turns. The open field is nice for activities like kite flying, but again, no barriers meant constant redirection. Also worth noting: the dog park is right next to the baby swings and restrooms, and parking is very limited and easy to miss. Overall, some nice features, but the lack of safety made it more stressful than enjoyable for us.

It is decent in rain, as it is gravel, but grass. The dog park area is about a 3 star area. The rest of the park is better. It has a very large green field in the center, ringed with a walking trail, picnic areas, and play areas. There is water and bathroom facilities. The parking area is a bit in the small side. If you play Ingress, there are a number of portals here.

Not residing in this county and visiting this park for the first time, I was blown away. I am sort of kind of okay totally envious and jealous. :) OVERALL: Very, very, very well kept and very, very, very clean. Nothing was or seemed broken down. Saw many people walk and play in the playground but not many people picnic/sunbathe. VARIETY: If you love water, there's a walk path for you. If you love redwoods, there's a walk path for you. If you love sunshine, there's a walk path for you. If you love bridges, there's a walk path for you. If you love pavilions, lights, nature, there's a place for you. If you love playgrounds, there's different ones for you to pick from and a super modern clean one too! PLAYGROUNDS: Wow. The equipment utilized is high end. The options is numerous of what one wants to do. The 3 hammocks are fantastic...this modern playground is gated with one entrance/exit door. Questionable individual sitting at the entrance with a table of "free gift," attempting you to entice you to join their program. Restrooms available. Simple parking with multiple spaces for you to pick from. Very ground level flat cement guided trails.

Super cool to see all the cute ducks and baby geese wandering around--such a fun little surprise…read moreduring our visit! The Magical Bridge Playground is just around the corner from the waterfront, which makes it easy to go back and forth between nature and playtime. There's plenty of seating and grassy areas, so it's a great spot to bring a blanket and have a picnic. Restrooms are conveniently close by, which is always a plus when you're with kids. Pro tip: try parking in the first turn-in from the Homestead side--it's usually easier to find a spot and puts you closer to everything. Central Park really has something for everyone--whether you're there to play, relax, or just enjoy the wildlife.
