Mandu loves coming to this park. It's nice with multiple playgrounds and paths. There's also a few picnic tables as well. There's quite a lot of weeds though and after every walk, Mandu comes back with spikey thorn like things in his fur and paws. There's also sometimes trash leftover from the elementary school and Mandu sniffs around hoping to catch a bite of something which isn't good :(( read more

This is a huge well-maintained park tied to the nearby school. There is a nice paved path that goes around the baseball field which worked well for a relaxed evening scooter ride. There is a nice bbq area and 2 tennis courts as well. There is a creek on the side if you want to explore further...probably nicer when there is water. read more

Maywood Park is one of my favorite parks in the South Bay. There are a lot of seating areas with tables and grills, so it's a perfect place to have a bbq or picnic! There's also a Safeway really close by on Stevens Creek in case you need to pick up some charcoal or last minute BBQ material. They have a playground area and large open fields - great for sports and recreational activities. There's also plenty of shade in both the grass areas and seating areas. There are restrooms located in the back of the park near the tennis courts. They also have a rec center that runs summer activities for kids and can be rented out. The park is also dog-friendly (I always see people walking their dogs here). They also have tennis courts in the corner of the park, but these fill up pretty quickly. There's a small parking lot near the tennis courts and tons of free street parking. Something to note is that the park is connected to Eisenhower Elementary School's playground. When school isn't in session, anyone is free to use the school's amenities including basketball hoops, wallball courts and additional playgrounds. I've been coming here for a few years now for my morning runs, reunions with friends, and picnics/BBQs. read more

First impression is that it looks small, quiet, clean and simple. There is a baseball diamond, three tables with one barbecue pit, a few benches to sit on, a playground, a decent sized flat grass area and on the opposite side of all of that is the bathroom. A little far away from the playground so if you have little ones who are just getting potty trained, this may be too far of a journey for them to hold it. The playground is pretty small but it is still fun. It has a little bit of everything. It is on a sand so the kids can run around barefoot. The little kid playground is right next to the big kid playground, so it's great if you have multiple aged children. The only concern I have is the structure is made of wood and I got a splinter on my elbow from rubbing against it. Also, it is next to a pretty busy street, so keep your eyes on your children. I would not go out of my way to come to this park but if I happen to be in the area I wouldn't hesitate to stop. read more

Maywood Park is a great example of urban planning. It's a medium sized park connected openly to Eisenhower Elementary School's playground. This allows the school to benefit from the park's amenities and vice-versa. The west side of the park has two tennis courts, restroom facilities and a rentable recreation room. The east side has playgrounds for smaller and bigger kids and a large grassy area for sports. There's a baseball backstop here, but I saw people just using this area for a casual soccer game. Both sides have some picnic tables with BBQ grills. The school has its own basketball hoops, wallball courts, and separate playgrounds for smaller and bigger kids. And since there's free access between the park and the school playground, this increases the amenities available to park users when school is not in session. There's a small parking lot by the tennis courts plus ample street parking around the park. Unfortunately, this park is bordered by Pruneridge Ave to the north, so you do get noise from the constant traffic. read more

Maywood Park is probably the best park in the area. It's got plenty of seating, and always lots of events, parties, volleyball/soccer games going on, especially during the weekend. Many people use the grills and they have a nice playground for the kids. There's also a skateboard area for teens as well. I love that this park is always lively with lots of kids around! read more

One of my favorite parks to have a gathering. Tennis and bball courts, large fields, playgrounds, and bbq make this park the place for our usual family reunions. The perfect location is underneath the trees by the tennis courts and round amphitheater-like concrete. My family spends the whole day here, and we never get bored. There's also an easy-to-find geocache in the park that also added to the picnic "excitement" ;) Fun stuffs. read more

The play structures at this park are really dated. But some of the kids looked to be enjoying them. There aren't many picnic tables so that was disappointing. The park does have a lot of nice grassy areas. Parking looked to be along the street. I couldn't tell if there was a dedicated lot at the other end. read more

This review is for Maywood, but the comments apply to the other Santa Clara parks as they're all pretty similar, and similarly easy to maintain and exceedingly BLAND. Good neighborhood park in Santa Clara that's well maintained. Many sections to the park, including a section for kids of course. There is a building to rent that has about eight (8) large tables, and about 60+ chairs. It's built into a quad and has an interior courtyard. The building is painted an industrial beige from the cold war era and the interior courtyard is HOT with almost no shade except for a lone burch tree at the south section of the building. Suggestion #1: Create some sun covering to make the interior coutyard more useable and less ugly. Suggestion #2: Paint the building a modern vibrant color scheme; look at Rivermark or the new buildings on Rengstorff in Mt.View for inspiration. Don't stop with the outside. Suggestion #3: Jazz up the park with some occasional spots of interest and color. Yes, this park is built for lowest cost. But it's BLAND looking! Suggestion #4: Community garden? read more

Been coming to this park for years. It's a great place to have a BBQ, throw a baseball/football, play a round of tennis, set-up a volleyball net or just chill. There are various areas with tables, a kids playground area and plenty of shade. Plenty of open grassy areas for recreational games and restrooms that are open on weekends and holidays. You'll see people walking their dogs and just enjoying their day all the time. Just a fun place to go for a family BBQ. Santa Clara's finest also make routine trips thru the park, to help keep it family friendly. read more

That kid on the swing on the right is mine! I'm glad he 's wearing his hat. I live right next to this park. While it is not the largest park or has the most facilities, it is always very clean, neat and filled with people playing sports, riding bikes, taking walks, having birthday parties etc. There are four children's playgrounds: a small one for toddlers, a medium one for preschoolers, a large one for older kids and one that has one half for toddlers and one half for preschoolers/older kids (it is right next to an elementary school which owns three of these playgrounds that are available for public use). There are tennis courts, lots of BBQ/picnic tables, basketball courts, restrooms, a small amphitheatre...etc. Between this and the Central Park in Santa Clara (which is often covered with bird droppings), we much prefer this one. read more

I try not to expect too much out of a park, hey, it's for having fun! It's a pretty decently sized, clean park. On one side, there is a playground and a hill that extends out to Eisenhower grass area. On the other, there's a tree-lined path with tennis courts and a weird concrete-cement semicircle. There's a bunch of picnic tables everywhere. There's plenty of space when there's not a lot of people. The buildings look a little old though; sometimes I see summer camps there. Like another reviewer said, it's more geared towards tweens (HA, never thought I'd use that word.) If you choose to play tennis, arrive early. The tennis courts get taken pretty quick. If you're an adult, bring something to do, like a Frisbee or a soccer ball. Or just explore, run around, maybe even be a little rebellious and go on the swings when there's no one watching. The reviewer who said this park is bland is 100% correct. Nothing special here and totally meant for older kids (the sign says 5-12 year olds). It was difficult to keep my 1 1/2 year old entertained since the park was meant for older kids, and there was loads of trash in the sandy areas. The park in general was relatively clean, but once again, other than the swings, slides and climbing area, nothing going on here. Ortega Park kicks this parks butt. read more

Maywood is a city park on busy Pruneridge Avenue that is nestled next to Eisenhower school. It has a neighborhood park & rec building that runs summer activities for neighborhood kids. read more

This is a nice family friendly park. I take my daughter almost twice per week there. Lots of open area and picnic tables. Also, nice walking path around the park. Some room for improvements: The open area has lots of patches and dried-up grass. Please maintain those areas. The maintenance seems average. read more

This is a large clean park with lots of activity options. There are picnic tables that are first come first serve, tennis courts, a small slide and swing area. There are always people playing soccer, volley ball or base ball in the grass area. Be careful walking your dog though. All dogs have to be on leash and people have said the police stock the park and give out expensive tickets. That being said it is a good place to walk your dog if you live in the neighborhood. read more

Great for a walk or run. Looks beautiful during fall with all the maple trees. Surrounds a elementary school. Lot of people walk their dogs as well here. read more
