Came here for dinner the day after Christmas. Walked in and the place was pretty empty. Probably due to the time we arrived. We were seated in a booth. I had ordered the enchiladas and my husband ordered the same thing he always orders the fajitas. Honestly I was disappointed this time around when we came for their food. And mind you we had been here many times before. The enchiladas was so dry. And the rice don't have any flavor to us. I don't know what happened. Maybe just having a bad day. Super solid experience. Everyone is so friendly and offer some of the best service around. The moment we sat down we had chips, salsa, and refried beans waiting for us to snack on. Everything seemed to have zero salt. For the first time in my life, I didn't enjoy the queso appetizer with the chip -- just no cheesy flavor at all. If you put some salt on it, it was edible. This place has excellent service! From the moment we stepped we were stepped in we n knew we would have a good evening out. The staff greeted us and were very attentive. I loved the refried beans as an option with the salads for your chips. I ordered the quesadilla as a starter and it was very good, the guacamole it came with was fresh and a great hint of lime. We went on a Wednesday night, so they had the mariachi band there which was really nice. Honestly we were shocked out how quickly all of the food came out. We were in and out in under an hour! All of the food was fine, but the tamale was a bit overcooked/dried out in parts and stuck to the corn husk, and my taco on the combo platter was a hard shell at one point, but by the time it got to me it was so soggy from being on the bed of lettuce. A few things here, and you only get one time to make a first impression- it was not a good one. I will explain. Food was good. Salsa and refried beans with the chips was nice. The fajitas were good, probably the best on the table, the Mazatlan Enchilada dish was huge, and my chicken chimichanga was not impressive. My chimichanga was a chicken fajita style and the chicken is cut small (see picture of fajitas) and the peppers and onions take over. Not much ambiance here, it is a nicely decorated, but is wide open. (Like a Friendly's!) So it's not for the romantic date night. The bar is nice, and service was great. The first impression and lasted at dinner was the dirty floor. It seems like the tile has food everywhere. Maybe they need to call the Fuller brush company or someone who can get the floor clean. It is not something I normally would notice but EVERYWHERE the tile and grout had food on it. So it just seemed dirty. Maybe I did not enjoy myself because of that.
