I had a blown fuse but they told me that rats and mice had eaten my engine harness and proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay out of pocket for it and the warranty wouldn't cover it. If they ever tell you that the work needed to be done isn't covered by warranty, take your vehicle somewhere else first to confirm they aren't making up shit to steal your money. My wife called to make a service appointment the other day for a check engine light. She has already had the vehicle there 2 times for the exact same EVAP code. I know because I personally checked the codes myself each time. The first time, they kept the vehicle two days and changed the vent solenoid. The second time, they said the gas cap wasn't tightened correctly (which is virtually impossible) and cleared the code. Of course, the light came back on. This time, when she arrived, they insisted that she pay a $140 "diagnostic fee" before they would look at, but assured her it would be refunded if the issue was found to be a warranty item. She had already informed them of her gas cap suspicions since the solenoid had been replaced. Please note that we are less than 60K and also have a Mazda 100K extended warranty. After FIVE hours of my wife waiting in the lobby (because the loaner vehicle she inquired about when she made the appointment was a no-go), they informed her that it was actually a bad gas cap. Now remember, the previous time, they said it wasn't 'tightened properly'. To add insult to injury, they said the fuel filler (gas) cap was not part of the emissions system warranty, and thus did not qualify. However, it didn't matter anyway because they didn't even have one in stock to begin with. After looking through some Mazda documentation and checking the Georgia Clean Air site, the fuel filler cap is most DEFINITELY considered part of the emissions system. Her plea with the service manager was unsuccessful, and my follow-up call has so far not been returned. We will be disputing the charges and reaching out to Mazda corporate for resolution. Also, the answer that the "tech needs to get paid" is unacceptable for a reason as to why it takes $140 to do a diagnostic that someone with minimal training can manage to do for free at AutoZone and come up with the same result. We will not return here for any service, and honestly, we are pretty turned off of Mazda altogether. I just don't grasp why the automotive repair industry is so predatory - especially on women. read more

Updated Review: While the buying experience was alright, my experience since has been terrible. First, we had to sign our paperwork three times because they kept messing it up. Second, I did not have the title tax paid off on my trade-in vehicle. So, we wrote them a check and signed a power of attorney so they could handle it all. Well, they apparently lost that form. They began calling multiple times a week asking for the title to my trade-in. They didn't believe that I didn't have. They even questioned whether I had written the check or not!. Finally, when the title arrived, they were adamant that I get it to them asap. I work about 45 minutes away and get home after they close. It is absolutely ridiculous that I had to take time off to take them the title when it was their mistake. Finally, their service department is a nightmare. I had the car for about 2 months when one of the tires kept going flat. I called and they told me it was probably the cold air, because apparently I'm too stupid to know the difference. They told me I could take it in if I wanted and it turned out to be a nail. They charged me $20 for the service. Now, that's a small amount, but I know for a fact that many places will perform this service for free, even if you're not a customer (e.g. Discount Tire). But my wife and I were heading out of town, so I paid the $20. Two hours later and we were still sitting in the lobby. I finally tracked somebody down and it turns out the car had been done for quite some time, but they failed to tell anyone. We had asked before that point, but were told that we'd be notified when it was done. Here's the nail in the coffin; a few days later I received a call asking about my satisfaction with the service. I voiced my concerns and the lady on the phone just got upset with me. Despite my complaints, however, nobody has ever called to apologize or to make things right. Also, they spam my email, text me, and call me trying to sell me more cars...I just bought one and I'm not in the market for another. So, to recap. The buying experience was pleasant, but once you've signed the paperwork, service bascially drops off the map. Original Review: I recently purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5 from Mazda of Lake Lanier and have to say that I enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly, but not overly pushy. My wife and I had been casually looking at new cars and stopped to test drive the CX-5. Connor came out to great us and didn't hesitate to give us a test drive. He answered our questions and chatted with us, and was not pushy. We didn't have our trade in vehicle on hand, and he told us to think about it and bring in he trade in in a couple days so they could evaluate it and give us a better number. We loved the car and brought in our trade in the same day. We began talking numbers while the trade in was being evaluated. Eventually, all the details were laid out and we weren't quite as low as we wanted to be in terms of the monthly payment. Now, this is the reason I took a star away. I felt the bargaining process was dry and that we gave a lot, but didn't get much back. We stretched our budget for a larger down payment to show a greater commitment, but it didn't feel as though hey were willing to meet us half way. They were able to get us a special interest rate and another factory rebate though. However, the overall experience was a positive one. In the end we were not drastically off of where we needed to be. This is a business and they are looking to make money. It is entirely possible that they did in fact offer up their best deal early on, but I really have no way of knowing. So, that is my one complaint: a lack of transparency in negotiations. The staff is great and were/are very helpful. I have continued to feel their support when I have questions about the new car. There has been no feeling that they no longer need to provide good service to me. In fact, I would say that the service has remained consistently high. If you are looking at a Mazda (or Cadillac) I would definitely recommend checking out this dealer. read more

Simply the worse service experience ever. Car was brought in with a grinding sound in the front left wheel. Not only is the sound still there but rear brakes, rotors, and calipers were replaced. Brakes were less than a year old. 1000 dollars to fix things not related to the problem and service people the obviously didn't care about the customer. We talked to the service mgr who stated it was a holiday and they would call the next morning. Still Waiting for that call. Save yourself time, money, and aggravation..... PSA: Do NOT use lake Lanier Mazda. So aggravated right now.... First thing to note, they have 1 MAZDA technician. Only 1. I made an appointment to bring my car in at 8:00 am for oil change, tire rotation and installation of Apple car play. At 3:40 pm , I called for status to find out the car was not done and will not be done before they close at 4pm. (No clue if or when they planned to call and tell me it wouldn't be ready) When I dropped the car off at 7:30 am, I told them I needed it by 2 pm. When asked why it wasn't done after 8+ hours, I was told by Brandi that they had 6 other Mazda's to service that day and mine did NOT take precedent since I wasn't sitting waiting on it. They wanted to leave my key under the mat, leave my car In parking lot and have me make phone payment now so they can leave for day. Since I've already had a car broken into while I'm a Secured, dealer lot, that was NOT happening. I arrived at dealership at 3:58 to pay for car and pick up my key to find that they don't have paperwork or even a total for me yet, but they are offering me the cash 'deal' for my 'trouble' today. I was also offered a free car wash. They were very polite. As I sit here, still waiting on my car while watching the service employees leave for the day, I would definitely NOT recommend this dealership for anyone owning a Mazda. At 4:30 pm, I still don't have the car I dropped off at 8:00 am. Make the drive to Mall of Ga Mazda in Buford. They are a Mazda dealer and will actually take care of Mazda owners. This place has gone downhill. I can no longer recommend this shop. In fact, I'd recommend you keep your distance until signs show major improvement. This shop used to be professional and well priced. They would refuse do work on your car if they thought it wouldn't make sense (like rotating and balancing tires that really should be replaced, or replacing belts before they showed wear). Also, they could do most things while you waited in their well appointed waiting room and they even price matched some of their services if you brought in a printed flyer. Now, it's a grab bag of bad experiences and I just don't have hours and hours to suffer for someone else's lack of customer service. I recently made an appointment to have the alignment done of my Ford Flex. When I pulled up at the time of my appointment, the first words out of the attendant's mouth was "I don't think we can work on that." Huh? You worked on it last year! And if you couldn't work on it today why didn't you tell me when I made the appointment? I asked the attendant to double-check with someone since all I was there for was an alignment and already had an appointment. She instructed me to wait in the waiting room. After thirty minutes passed, I left the waiting room and walked out to the service entrance to ask about my car, only to see that no one had even touched it! Something that shouldn't take more than 45 minutes was already 30 minutes behind and no one came to tell me! I was on my lunch break and had limited time. Also, while I was there I could hear someone at the service entrance yelling and cussing about "all these cars" and even yelled at a customer as they were parking their car. I asked for me keys and left. There is no excuse. If they couldn't honor the appointment then they should have called me. If you think its going to take several hours to do something routine then you need to let your customer know so they aren't stuck somewhere they hadn't plan on spending the whole day. read more

I feel duped in a way. I spoke to a salesman (AJ) and told him what I needed the price to be out the door. He told me fine it can be done, so I drove an hour to the lot. I should have walked away the moment the price became 5,000 more than what we spoke about. The salesman had a smile and was very nice all the while knowing they changed the agreed price. I had my own financing and set amount I could spend. So after swallowing the fact I was not getting the price we spoke about over the phone, I started from the beginning (advertised price) but wait there's now an add charge (Atl. Advantage $1735) that I could not opt out of even though I was buying a used Chrysler T&C from a Lincoln dealership. This plan is for their new cars, I really didn't want it. They dropped the price to $735 but that goes to show the advertise price is not the "true price". After speaking with the bank I was allowed to go up on my loan. I had to come back the next day with the check from the credit union. The next day what should have been a quick in and out with the Financial Department turned into 5+ hours of waiting to close the deal. I had a grumpy 17yr old son a 70yr old mother mad because we were there 5+ hours, plus two 3yr olds hungry and trying to eat all the snacks. I finally get in with the Financial Department and asked why the line item that should have said Atl. Advantage now said wounded warriors fund. The finance guy removed the line item and added that amount to the price of the van (make the sales price $735 more) After all was said and done, I paid more than advertised internet price, it was late (I fell asleep waiting to close that night. I felt stuck because that would be the last night I would have available transportation. I still feel like they did a Houdini on me. Now there are not any mentions of the "Atlanta Advantage Plan" and after the 1st verbal broken (phone price agreement), I pray they keep the now verbal Atlanta Advantage Plan. One bright side, I walked away with a big red bow and a full tank of gas, but I bet they do that for everyone. read more

Terrible customer service and does not follow through on their commitments. I made my first appointment for service after moving here from south Florida. I arrived on Sat Dec 28th to find the manager out front, the power was out and they were unable to service my car that day. She told me to come on Monday Dec 30th. I explained that I had to work that day and that my work requires me to drive. She said that she would put me in a loaner. I called Monday morning before going, they said they would cal me back. No one called back. I showed up at the dealer and they informed me they don't have any Mazda loaners. Not that they don't have one available, but that they don't have ANY Mazda loaners. So why did the manager who clearly saw me drive up in a Mazda tell me they would put me in a loaner. BTW That Manager was there and never came out to speak with me. I ended up waiting there several hours to have my car serviced and was offered a "Free Car Spa" which the rep wrote on the back of a business card. Brandy instructed me to call and make sure they had a loaner because I would need to leave the car for the day when I wanted to redeem the "Free Car Spa". Today is Feb 20th, I have called, they never have Loaners and are very uninterested in following through. The girl today told me "I don't see any loaner on the lot". I said so you do have them? She said we have one and its not here. I asked if I could schedule for when it was returned, she said I have no idea when it will be returned. and AGAIN she said let me take your number. NO ONE HAS CALLED.. I called MAZDA Corporate customer experience today and he was also not able to get the service manager on the phone. I have purchased three brand new Mazdas since 2014 and have always been very impressed with the service I have received, I have always taken my car to the dealer for service. Mazda of Lake Lanier has horrible customer service. All of this would be mute if they hadn't offered the loaner and the Day Spa service. I know where I will not be taking my car for service and will NEVER purchase a new vehicle from. God only knows their integrity under the hood when they clearly lack integrity up front. read more

Service department is hard to reach, they don't return calls or follow up. We contacted Mazda Mall of Georgia and they immediately scheduled an appointment and had the parts shipped overnight. This is definitely the worst car dealership I have ever encountered when purchasing a vehicle EVER! We found the vehicle we wanted to purchase on their website for $14,000, went to see it and made a deal for $12,000 and the paperwork was in order for financing... or so they said... They pulled what is known in the industry as a "YoYo deal"... that is where they let you drive off the lot with the car and a week later they call you and tell you the financing has NOT gone through and you have to come in and when you get there, the price of the vehicle has now gone up! If you are not familiar with what a Yo-Yo deal is, I highly recommend you look it up on the internet!! Needless to say, the Owner was WELL aware of his and his employee's shady and frankly, unethical, business ways. In the end, we walked in there with a cashier's check for the full amount of our ORIGINAL negotiated price and they STILL didn't want to sell us the vehicle when clearly there are ZERO financing issues... bottom line... GREED... they wanted more money from the beginning and will try to do just about anything to get it and screwing the customer... You have been warned!!! After all was said and done, they HAD to honor the contracted price, it is a contract, (but they still try to manipulate you) no matter how you pay for it... and we purchased the vehicle at THE $12k price, paid in full and we will never ever recommend them to anyone ever!!! I had an appointment at 9 and in the 5 hours it took to diagnose the problem, I heard at least 3 other customers come in and complain about the outrageous price of service. They inflate their prices too outrageous amounts. They were insisting on charging me close to $500 to replace one wire. I would not suggest these people to anyone and if by any means avoid them. If you are however stuck going to this individual location to get your automobile worked on, then expect high prices. read more

The service at this place was THE WORST experience of my life! Very rude, unprofessional staff, very disrespectful. I had my Mazda vehicle in service and spend over $3,000 for repairs. The repairs were not satisfied and my car was not serviced properly. The staff never apologized and not once called me by my name, but twisted my name every time I spoke with them. Never called me to give me a quote and assumed it was ok to go ahead with the repair. They tried to patch things up with a car spa and when I gave them a chance, they ran my car through an automatic wash only, but it took 2 days to waste my time. At the end they took of my precious license plate bracket that my deceased husband purchased for me to replace with their plastic advertisement bracket. At this point my car is not running well, no one bothered to call and fix things. I have NEVER met more uncaring service staff. I am very disappointed and very displeased. I would not recommend their service to anyone. It is very sad that people don't know how to handle issues and communicate to make things better, especially that it creates jobs for them when someone spends large amounts of money in car service at the dealership. read more

My wife found a van she was interested on their website and the Internet price was fair. Me always being the skeptic, I assumed when we got there they would tell us that they just sold it. We didn't have much time so to prove a point to my wife I agreed to ride 30 miles to see if it was legitimate. To my surprise it was there and was exactly what we were looking for. I asked about the price and was told a price that was approximately $1000 higher than the Internet price and when I told the salesman he said ok. I also asked would they come off the price a little more. He said possibly and it didn't hurt to ask. Then when we went to open up the car. The battery was dead. There was another nearly identical beside it. That battery was dead also. I told salesman I was in a hurry and would return Monday or Tuesday morning and he said he would get battery charged up . They open at 9am. I made my way back to the lot Monday morning a few minutes before 9 am. I waited for over 30 minutes for someone to get with me. After waiting to have car jump started I finally got to drive it. I liked the car. After returning I ask salesman to work up his best price and send me a text or email because I was going home to get some sleep. The next morning I had not received any info so I rode by on my way home from work. Salesman brought out a paper with some numbers and the price was still including the extra $1000 for the wax job. When I questioned this he got kind of defensive and said they would be losing money if they didn't charge for it. I finally just left. I am guessing things might have been a little different for me if I had been purchasing the $84000 Cadillac off the showroom floor. My advise to anyone wanting to deal here is to read the fine print and don't believe it til you see it in writing. read more

I recently had my car at Lake Lanier Mazda for repair. I was very disappointed with the level of customer service I received. I dropped my car off for repair as I was going out of town for one week. 1. Steve failed to return my calls. 2. They did not get started on my car in a reasonable amount of time. 3. When I returned home with my car the problem with the 4 Wheel Drive continued to exist. LLM did tow my car back to their dealership after my complaint . They had my car for almost 3 weeks when it was finally returned to me . The problem was still not fixed. Communication by the service manager Tim was very slow. My phone calls to the owner were not returned. I took my car to another dealer who found the problem in less than 48 hours. Failure to fix my transfer case in a timely manner caused my transmission to fail.I have now had to replace my transmission. Despite numerous phone calls and texts, along with promises to communicate with me, and several emails that I have sent, I have not received any compensation, or an official apology from LLM. I have not received any communication from the owner or the General Manager. I complained to Mazda North America, and while they were sympathetic, they cannot force LLM to communicate with me or compensate me. The transfer cases are apparently known to fail on CX 9's and if you don't replace them, they continue to cause damage and will cause transmission failure. In my opinion, this was not a good dealership to work with and I believe they are not good communicators. I spent over $1700 at Lake Lanier Mazda, and the main problem was never taken care of. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose another dealership. I have left a lot of details and information out of my review so it would be shorter.I will now have to find other options to deal with Lake Lanier Mazda and the Atlanta Automotive Group., Again, this is based on my personal experience and I have been bitterly disappointed with this dealership. If they choose to communicate with me or help me in anyway, I will be more than happy to update my review with current information. read more
