Yummy dinner here last night before a show. We made a 5:00 reservation, showed up a few minutes before, and may have been the first restaurant patrons of the night. Many more had shown up here before we left, however. As it was happy hour, we tried three different appetizers: falafel with hummus, dolmas, and harissa carrots. All were delicious and ended up being rather filling. My wife and I both had the lamb gyros, while my daughter had the chicken shawarma. While the dishes didn't appear to be a huge amount of food, they ended up being plenty. Everything had really nice flavor. As it was my wife's birthday, she got the free baklava for dessert. My daughter and I both thought it was fantastic...maybe one of the better baklavas we've had in a long time. My wife thought it was fine but has had other versions she'd liked better. Service was quick and strong from the start. All food came out surprisingly fast. We'd come here again if on/near Tennyson Street and in the mood for a good Mediterranean experience.

I had been passing by Mazevo, craving to try it, for quite some time. Especially given the pretty decorations that you can see from outside. After visiting for the first time, I don't think we will be returning, but it's worth a try to see if you feel differently. Our food a bit mixed. While the chicken shawarma was good, we found the hummus tasted a bit off. We aren't hummus experts, but we do buy a lot of restaurant hummus, and this one was very different a bit of a weird flavor. The carrot plate was good, but unfortunately both me and my partner found ourselves craving a similar carrot dish from another Mediterranean place nearby. The service was a bit weird as well. Our waitress wouldn't make eye contact and was seldomly responding as we spoke to her and ordered.

Second visit and for an early dinner. Walked in while doing some shopping in the area. Last time was during lunch and the shakshuka is phenomenal!! Ordered fried pickles, fries, and the lamb kebab entree. Pickles were great and had a nice tzatziki style sauce. Fries were seasoned, tasty, but not crunchy enough for me. Kebobs were solid, perfectly cooked, tender, but lacked a bit on seasoning. Overall solid experience, attentive staff, and clean Located in highlands, so parking can be a bit tough, great if you are visiting other shops before dining.

Mazevo is located along Tennyson St among many other fantastic shops and eateries to stop in. My girlfriend and I were hungry but also wanted to have a healthier lunch while walking around. We were in luck when we happened to walk by Mazevo! First impressions were that the interior was very nice with a lot of seating and a large bar as well. The shakshuka was very good with PLENTY of flavor. It was honestly a bit more flavor than I prefer but I like my food on the blander side so can't complain there. Eggs were cooked very well sunny side up. The combination of the spices, runny yolk, cheese, and the French baguette were awesome. My girlfriend ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it was slightly salty but again we prefer our food on the blander side. Service was awesome. We were checked in on frequently with waters cups always full. The server wiped down our table because some water spilled and then swapped out my baguettes with new ones because he was concerned that some dust may have gotten on them. I said it was ok but it was a nice gesture. Last thing I'll touch on is the pricing. The pricing is honestly not bad at all considering the generous portions and especially the location. Most places on Tennyson tend to be on the pricier side but Mazevo seems very reasonably priced. I look forward to going back to Mazevo for a healthy, reasonably-priced meal again in the near future and recommend others to do the same!

Have you ever shown up for a reservation but the restaurant is closed? Me neither until today! This place was supposed to be open at 11, and well, nobody is here. Confusing stuff!

Everything was flavorful - Excellent chicken shawarma, creamy baba ghanoush and lamb tagine brimming with flavors. Service was top notch and quick. I might be back for their shawarma! Recommend this place if you're in the mood for some authentic Mediterranean food on Tennyson.

My favorite Mediterranean place in Denver. I really like how I can get a reservation at any time and don't have to deal with booking months or weeks in advance. They have a nice bar too that I've sat in for a solo dinner. For food, my favorite is probably the gyro plate. The sample platter is nice to get to try multiple things but the best appetizer is the lamb ragu. The only disappointing thing I've had from here is the pickled veggies - the pickles were just from a jar so I wouldn't recommend that dish. Otherwise the pita, spreads and mains are great. Service is also always really attentive. Definitely must try.

The service and food here were fine. I enjoyed the starter/small plates more than my actual meal. I wish the lamb kabobs had more flavor. I did really like the baba ghanoush and labneh with the bread.

Receipt (overall great price for 2 people), but highlighted the drink sent back 2x for "debris" still on the bill

I was very excited to try this restaurant with my partner to celebrate a special occasion. We showed up and were seated right away, which was great. We were seated in the front area (pictured) which I think is the cutest part of the restaurant, it has a quaint garden-like feel. Until looking it up, we were under the impression that the place had just recently opened due to the service. We could from our table hear servers questioning who had what table at the host stand, often saw food come out to the wrong table, and we were unsure of if there were individual servers or a shared model because 5 different people came up to us asking for orders. There is definitely room to grow on the service side -- namely prebussing. Tables are small and nobody likes sitting with dirty dishes in front of them especially when staff continues to come by, and particularly when you are seated near the entrance. At one point nearly every table in the front area needed to be bussed while people were sitting, and staff would walk by to fill water or take an order but leave with empty hands (one out, one in service technique) . Another thing to grow upon is drink service/speed. The cocktail menu is lovely, however drinks came out very slow. We had to send a drink back 2 times due to an issue with some "debris" in the cup, and on the 3rd time the issue was resolved. I was surprised, though, at the way it was handled by service (quickly rushed away, not asked if a different drink was preferred) and then still, that drink was on our check. As a guest, it felt like no efforts were made to right the issue (other than remaking it (slowly, and still with "debris" the first time) -- house shot, house dessert, or something to improve customer experience after a situation like that goes a long way :) even an explanation of why it was happening because frankly, it was gross. Clearly the food is made with love and it it was the STAR of the show. It was the best part of the experience -- as it should be! Every bite tasted flavorful, fresh, and just downright delicious. Wish we tried even more, but highly recommend the Harissa Carrots. I also would have liked if our service allowed some time to explain the story of the restaurant and the menu, but instead, things felt rushed and disjointed. Service should be trained on the 2 bite rule as well, as I saw other tables standing up and trying to flag down any server just to get an extra sauce. Just small service improvements will level up the entire guest experience. I look forward to returning and seeing the growth and cohesion of the FOH team, and BOH is already killing it! Great location and ambiance

After finishing a job assignment just down the street from this restaurant, I was hungry for some quality food. Lately, my tendency is to go to a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant to get me something healthy. And upon doing a search what was nearby, I found this place (Moroccan/Greek influenced restaurant.) I didn't need to waste anymore time to ponder over; I rushed to it after work. For some reason, I thought this was a place more towards a casual dining restaurant (like Cava or Modern Market.) I was wrong. This is more like a high-end restaurant that offers quality and yet fairly affordable foods. The restaurant inside is quite fancy. The first section (right after you've entered it and to your left) is the prettiest section of it. Then the second portion is the main dining with 6-8 tables nicely spaced between. The bar extends quite extensively; it's a great place if you are to dine in single. There are more tables all the way to the back (west side of the building.) I was greeted by a young lady immediately upon arrival. I told her it was for a to-go order. She took me to the bar and instructed me to place my order there. One of the guys at the bar kindly enough to offer me a glass of water while perusing the menu. Service was attentive (until this point.) The menu booklets are fancy and beautiful. There are four pages. It's sectioned out from the starters to the soups and salads to the main plates. Not sure if they have a separate menu when it comes to the drinks. Like I said, I was there for a takeout, so I didn't look f or it. Once I knew what I wanted for the night, I placed it with the guy who gave me the water (earlier) Oh boy, had I known the fact that this place takes a long time to prepare foods, I would have called in. For the time I placed my order and finally got it, there was good 40 minutes. It was the peak dinner time on Sunday (it appeared that the restaurant was at its 85 - 90% capacity. They were also other pickup orders by DoorDash/Uber Eats as I saw more than a handful of guys came and went to pick up their customers' orders.) For this reason, I strongly recommend that you place your order ahead if it's a takeout. Or if you want to dine in, avoid the peak time as those who were dining last night might have waited long to get their foods; this is just an assumption, however. What I got me last night were two items from the starter section: Lamb Ragu ($14) and Beetroot With Labneh ($12). Both are gluten free. As of mid-August of 2024, the overall rating of this restaurant is solid 4 stars. I did read some honest/frank opinions of others who have utilized this business where their reviews might have been solely based on their likes and dislikes but to me, both dishes were quite impressive. Lamb Ragu: consists of ground lamb placed over hummus with pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. All the ingredients truly compliment each other perfectly. This dish is served warm but when I had the leftover the very next morning (which was out of my fridge), I didn't bother to warm it up. It still tasted good. It comes with pita bread which is seasoned with curry powder was my impression (apparently this is gluten free as well???) Beetroot With Labneh: I had no clue what Labneh was until this point but now I know. It's a combination of cheese and (traditionally goat) yogurt. And the drizzle of citrus orange dressing over the labneh tasted more like a jam, but this was the magic that did to the whole dish might be an understatement. The perfectly cooked gold and red beet cubes were superbly the main ingredient in this dish where it makes the whole dish so beautifully colorful. Wow, I'm amazed. I'm giving this place a perfect 4-star review (the reason why I'm not giving it a 5-star rating is because the wait time for a takeout was simply too long (like I said 40 minutes.) Not sure if they can do something about it to make it a bit more efficient in the future. Anyway, I will utilize this business in the future for sure if I see fit (if I would be in the neighborhood again.)

Very tasty food and great service. Waiter was extremely attentive and the music was great. Lots of laughter in the dining room. I went with the chicken kabob plate and added hummus & pita bread. The bread had a right amount of garlic and the chicken breast was so juicy and flavorful

Their hummus is excellent, their baba ghanoush is the best I've had since leaving the greater Boston area (with its abundance of outstanding ethnic restaurants) and the eggplant moussaka is fantastic. Plus they put this fully vegan cream dressing on the garden salad that is out of this world. Byblos has completely ruined me for a lot of other restaurants. As I'm writing this I think I've talked myself into going there for lunch!

To start, the hummus, pita, and htipiti are a must, obviously! And the za'atar-spiced fries are seriously addicting -- I could eat an entire order myself. Both salads are fantastic and are the perfect addition to the meal. But for the main course... DO NOT leave without ordering the za'atar roasted chicken, bavette steak, and wood-fired carrots. You will be missing out if you do! Every single time we've gone, everything has been cooked to absolute perfection, and the flavors are immaculate. Honestly, I'd lick my plate clean.

We got a few drinks and placed an order for apps and mains together since it would be easier. And normally you would expect drinks would come first followed by apps and then mains. We got the apps, drinks and mains all together which was a bit odd because our table had no more place. Our server did not ask us and we thought it was understood. The lamb kofte, hummus and mandu dumplings were great! Their pita is fresh and piping hot, unlike other pitas I've had which was a big positive! The main dish my mom got was the carrot dish because she is a vegetarian, it was such a lazy dish! Just extra charred carrots on a bed of chickpeas and sauce - I expected more! Everything lamb was grilled to perfection and tasted really good. The falafel was very tasty as well. Stick to meat options if you decide to dine here. I wish they had a few more vegetarian options in the mains. We decided to skip desserts here because they did not sound appetizing at all. Service was alright. FYI - they will add a 20% service charge irrespective of your party size.
