Went to dinner last night with three friends. The positives first.. the food was very tasty and the portion sizes were great. However, I will never eat in at this restaurant again. Our table wasn't ready at our reservation time and we were then sat immediately next to the front door, with negative temperature drafts hitting us all night. The restaurant is critically understaffed and our table was consistently ignored throughout the night; including our bottle of wine not being brought out and food taking over an hour and twenty minutes to reach the table. An entire jug of water was spilled on my friend with management doing nothing to rectify. May do take out in the future, but will never go back and eat in person. read more

I gave this place a try about 7 or 8 times and it was 7 or 8 times too many. When ordering takeout it takes about an hour even for a salad or wrap. Several times I have shown up 20-30 min after the estimated time and it's still not ready. When I have dined in you are looking at almost 2 hours from when you sit down to when you leave. The last time I went took 20 min for my lemonade and then I saw them give my meal to a woman complaining at the bar (I know it was mine because the rest of the tables food sat on the hot plate til they remade mine took about 12 min). The food is actually fairly good so it is unfortunate the service is abysmal. The only reason they have decent ratings is because they give you free baklava for a 5 star review read more

The service was pretty terrible. We ordered quickly after we sat and were there on a Saturday evening. The place was not super busy but it took an hour for our food to come out. Two of us ordered shrimp so the amount of time it took to cook did not add up. The price for the food also was not worth it. After a long drive into town, we were so delighted to find such a cozy and welcoming place just steps from our hotel. A heady aroma of warm spices hits you as soon as you walk in the door and I knew right away that I'd eat here a few times a month if I lived in Denver. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious! The dolmas were the best I've ever tasted and the lamb tagine was ridiculously comforting with just the right amount of kick. My boyfriend and I ate here for our anniversary a few months back and were overall super happy with it. We were very impressed by the food - it was SO good. The only part that was mediocre was the service - our waitress seemed to be young or new (?) and barely came to our table so we were left waiting for a long time between drinks/ food. However, I'm sure they are short staffed and she seemed novice, so nbd. Def will order the food again, maybe for takeout next time. read more

We noticed Mazevo after walking past it a few times while shopping on Tennyson. After looking at some of the reviews online, we decided to give it a try. We got there shortly after open while staff were quietly preparing for the dinner hour. Our seating requests were taken into account and we were given a nice table near the back for a more private feel. We started with the Mazevo Platter that had the freshest Tabbouleh ever. The hummus was incredible and the Baba Ghanoush delightful. The falafel was so good, the other person with me ordered it as their entree. The platter came with warm freshly made pita. I ordered the chicken shawarma that was served over hummus and with pita. We ended the meal with baklava that tasted fresh from the kitchen at home. The cocktails were incredible and we were quick to get them refilled. Our server Joe was the perfect amount of energetic and helpful, and quick to get any needs met. He was super accommodating and had a very warm, pleasant personality that was extremely welcoming. We went all out and I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it ended up being. No tabbouleh in our appetizer dish, chicken kabaab plate was missing mixed greens, no vegetables with the kaftka kabab, $11 for about 3 sq inches of baclava. Would give 4.5 stars if I could only because it is not THE best Mediterranean food I've ever had but it is VERY good and a spot I will definitely be back to many times. I have had the Mazevo platter and it is great for a group to share. If you're looking for a spot to just grab an app and a drink, this would be a great spot for that. For an entree I've had the falafel which comes with dolmas -- both are delicious. The falafel is flavorful and most importantly, not dry. The dolmas are also to die for; if you don't get them with whatever entree you get, you should definitely get the app size. They're packed with flavor and not overly oily. To drink, I've tried the coral reef and the mango mojito -- the coral reef is VERY gin forward so only get that if you love gin and the mango mojito is not surprisingly very sweet. Last time I was there, a man who I understood to be the owner made my friend and I cocktails on the house because he was trying to decide if he wanted to put them on the menu. Drinks on the house -- always a plus. In short, will definitely be back and would happily recommend this place to others. read more

This was by far the best mediterranean food i've had at a restaurant before. My friend and I sat at the bar and had great service. If we hadn't sat there it would've been a 40 min wait on a Monday night!!! It definitely would be worth it to wait though. Once upon a time during a crazy worldwide pandemic when seemingly everything was going to hell, Mazevo starting saving days one at a time starting with a meal. The bartender offered me water and conversation while I waited for my order to be fresh prepared and before I knew it, it was time to hit the road with my stacks and leave my new friend. My drive up the mountain was torturous because the aroma tempted me to rip open each container devouring it while driving- I did not care that I had no utensils yet the only thing that stopped me was the embarrassment I knew I'd face getting pulled over with taziki dripping from my nose. 40 minutes later I was surprised to find, since the food was packed so well in tin, it kept its heat. First stop- tahini hummus that had me smiling ear to ear... so creamy and rich and flavorful. It took every negative thought out of my mind as I savored the flavor. The harissa chicken atop this bliss was spiced to perfection as was the roasted version that came accompanied by a delicate tomato couscous. Earthy, slightly spicy, and full flavored. The cooling taziki sauce had small bits of cucumber that set these dishes off. I wondered, how does one achieve such mastery of Mediterranean delights? I was so glad I ordered tons of food because with this whole COVID business I don't get out much and knew I'd need stock for a few days. These are meals I can eat on repeat with big smiles. We were so stoked with our experience here. We were walking around on a snowy, freezing night on Tennyson and happened upon this lovely Mediterranean joint. They've been open 2 weeks. The food, as well as the service, were impeccable. They have have free WiFi, as a bonus. They made my hubby a custom vegetarian schwarma dish that was delish, however, when we got the bill, it ended up being $16 extra than the original dish, just to make it vegetarian..... I got the roasted salmon, which was phenomenal, but still a bit pricey. We will absolutely come back, but please be careful when ordering off the menu. They didn't let us know how much more the dish was going to be, which soured our experience. read more
