I reallyyyy wanted to take pics of the food but i was too excited! Its been on my list for a while and it did not disappoint! Showed up Friday late afternoon around 4:40p and it was fairly quiet but still warm and welcoming. Narjis took care of us and she was just lovely. Checked in just enough and at the right times. We went for the sampler plate. Humus and babaghanouj were solid. The olives were so wonderfully flavored. Grapeleaves were meh.. but the falafel I can vouch for as a middle easterner. I didn't feel like meat so I ordered an eggplant dish that was tasty and comforting. Their basmati was fluffy and cardamom heavy which I like. The hubby enjoyed his chicken shawarma with humus so much he forgot to share lol Wine selection was decent. I really liked my Greek Syrah. We were a group of 5 with 2 small children. It took a while to put in our order. Then as we looked around a lot of customers were waiting for their food. As we kept waiting, customers who were seated after us received their food. We then said we were going to leave and suddenly our food appears. Waitress said she would comp us 1 beer and 1 kids lemonade. Seriously? That is a ridiculous comp. Food was good but service and compensation was not worth visiting again. This was on 10/5 at 7:13 pm. Love this new Mediterranean spot! The cutest interior, nicest staff, great wine, and delicious food. My favorite dish was probably the super-tender harissa chicken -- but the spiced lamb with hummus was absolutely a close 2nd. Both are super flavorful dishes packed with spices and sauces. I even loved the vegetarian options: roasted harissa cauliflower, red lentil soup, hummus. So this is a great spot to go with a vegetarian, or just get some veggie sides yourself. read more

We really enjoyed our food and experience and we will be back!!!! We started with cocktails: the mango mojito and new fashion and then enjoyed the max eco appetizer player which was enough for the three of us to all sample the various items; we did add 2 pitas tithe order so each person had a pita. The husband enjoyed the lamb kabob and my friend and I split the cauliflower dish and the falafel dish. The harissa sauce on the cauliflower was wonderful and when paired with the falafel, helped cut the heat a bit. We were so full we didn't try dessert. We will definitely return!!! read more

This was our first time visiting Mazevo. The host was courteous and seated us quickly. The ambiance was low-key similar to an Asian restaurant. Gentle music playing and resembled music from an Asian restaurant, not a Mediterranean restaurant. Service was prompt and accurate. Food appeared soon after ordering. We had the red Greek wine which was smooth and good. The Greek salad was fresh but only had one cube of feta cheese. The lentil soup was pureed and had a nice flavor. The bowl was quite large. The lamb kabob was excellent. Prices were reasonable. Overall, I recommend this restaurant. My preferences for a Greek / Mediterranean restaurant include Greek music and art. Soups with whole grain not pureed soups. More feta cheese on the Greek salad. More Greek wines to choose from. read more

What an absolutely delicious meal! I hadn't had Mediterranean in awhile so this was quite the treat. I ordered the Spiced Lamb with Hummus and my friend ordered Lamb Kofta. We were told the kofta would take a bit so we took our waitresses suggestion and ordered the Labneh for an app. Oh my labneh was that a great choice. I had always heard of it but never actually tried it. What have I been missing all my life... the creamiest cream cheese ever with olive oil and Mediterranean spices. I will for sure order that again and probably not share because it is THAT good. The only drawback to this meal was how long everything took, getting drinks, our food, our check and no real check ins throughout the meal for more water. We were all in town visiting Denver for a friends birthday and we made a last minute reservation for 7. They were able to accommodate us beautifully with basically a private room with a big beautiful skylight to ourselves. Service was quick and they were very attentive. My husband and I eloped in Greece 5 years ago and had always planned to go back for our 5-year anniversary. Well, Covid messed that up for us, so here we are at Mazevo instead! Very cute interior, they did a great job remodeling the bar that was here pre-covid. Love the pergola & plants by the fireplace, really nice visual atmosphere. They really missed an opportunity to make it even more Mediterranean with authentic music, and instead we were serenaded to Mmmbop, Rock Me Like a Hurricane, and I Will Always Love You. Damn shame. The sample platter was fantastic, with the babaganoush & falafel being particularly delicious. Husband had the salmon, which he loved, and I got the lamb tagine, which was very well-braised. The cinnamon was a little stronger than expected, but the portion was good and the meat tender. I would definitely go back, I just wish they would change the music to something more authentic. read more

I really wanted to Love this place but unfortunately it fell flat for me. I came a bit early on a Friday, 5ish, and ordered the Harissa chicken. I was told it takes 25min to cook, which was fine by me. They have free WiFi and I was able to work. The idea of the dish is so perfect, I love pearled couscous and chicken. They certainly took the entire 25 min, if not more, to cook it, and unfortunately that was at least 5 mins too long. The first bite was amazing, mainly because it was of the dark meat part and there was a nice drizzled sauce on top. But after that, the breast and half the leg were completely dried out. A lot of the ends were completely hardened and a little burnt. The couscous was nice with flavor but also a little dry. I just expected a bit more from a $27 dish. Also the ambiance in here is pretty lame. The music was super low and cut off constantly, and on top of that you could hear the Kitchen's terrible music spilling into the dining room. Not exactly an inviting vibe for being located in such a great part of town. read more

This review is overdue but I dined at Mazevo Mediterranean Eatery a couple of weeks ago with my family and what a treat! I have been meaning to try Mazevo for weeks after being recommended by a friend and this place was perfect for family night. The inside of Mazevo is airy, welcoming, spacious, and they have this adorable side room with a beautiful decorated fireplace. We were seated in a more spacious area in the back with a nice corner booth since there were 5 of us. Our server was lovely, she greeted is immediately and gave wonderful menu recommendations since it was our first time. We ordered the Hummus and Labneh for appetizers which were absolutely delicious, very fresh and great portions for sharing. (My family had never tried Labneh before and they were losing their minds!) Their pita was delicious too. We all ordered our own entrees (which I do not recommend haha, the portions are huge and meant to be shared!), but every entree was incredible, and we had plenty of leftovers to take home! The Lamb Tagine was so hearty and was like Mediterranean curry! The Chicken Schwarma was flavorful and so tender, the Spiced Lamb with Hummus was so tasty and authentic, and the Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly with the best pairing of kale and smashed potatoes. All of the dishes were phenomenal and the menu offers something for everyone to enjoy. We ended the meal with Baklava which was so flaky and delicious, we were all fighting over the last piece. We all left full and satisfied, this was one of the best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern spots I have tried in Denver! We can't wait to come back. read more

If you love Mediterranean food, then you have to stop by Mazevo, located in the coolest little neighborhood. This is a great spot for a romantic quiet dinner. We started off with the Mazevo platter, a sampler of their spreads. All of them were excellent, but the labneh was especially good. If you sit at the bar ask for Ace, who makes the most beautiful and delicious cocktails. He will tell you stories about Nepal and the excursions he organizes on his time off. Don't forget to grab a baklava for dessert. The restaurant gets it from a Syrian lady. Mazevo opened its door shortly after the pandemic and it's doing a great job at making a name for itself. We were rooting for Mazevo to show up but unfortunately it just didn't do it for us. Came in on a Saturday - place was empty except for a few parties. Service was sloooooooooow and it took forever for us to get our food. The lamb chops were over cooked, dry, tough, and overpriced unfortunately. They also charged for extra sauces which we weren't notified of. We knew that the harissa was an extra charge - and it was worth it. Very tasty and spicy. The gyro meat was flavorful but wasn't extra special. Also weirdly the plates were too small to be able to comfortably eat - such a weird thing to comment on but just annoying when everything's falling on the table. Unfortunately the service was super slow, and the food just didn't deliver for us this time. read more

I'm so sad for everyone who didn't have a good experience here the first time they came because I could not have loved it more! The food, the service, the decor- all WONDERFUL! We had the nicest waitress who was so prompt, helpful in making order choices and always kept our drinks full. I could eat that hummus and pita for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Put it in my veins!! The chicken shawarma was rich and salty and left me with plenty of leftovers the next day (reheated like a dream!). So thankful for this delicious Mediterranean food in the neighborhood. The hubs and I got take out tonight to give this a try. We started with the baba ganoush which was a really excellent version of this dish. I should have ordered extra pita bread to scoop this up in fact. For my main I tried the Lebanese Maghmour which I'd never heard of. The description says it's baked eggplant and chickpeas but the dish I got seemed to be more of an eggplant stew with tomatoes and onion. Regardless it was totally delicious and the side of grilled bread was a perfect pairing. The grilled bread had Z'aatar and I would assume olive oil. I could have eaten about ten more pieces of this. The hubs did the lamb kabobs and I tried a bite of his rice and the excellent green sauce that came with. He really enjoyed his dish and the bite I had was super tasty as well. Service was fast and friendly and I definitely want to try more dishes. read more

This place just recently opened up near our home so we decided to order takeout. By the time I got there from the grocery store and found a place to park my order was ready to pick up. They had a few items that were clearly marked vegan. I got the falafel . They were big and crispy on the outside and delicious with lots of flavor. It said it came with tabouli but it just had a few grape leaves with it. Tabouli would have been good with it but without it the falafel stayed nice and crunchy. I also loved the green tahini sauce that came with it as well. We also got hummus and it was excellent with the herby pita bread. My husband got the chicken schwarma and he absolutely loved it. I would say the portions are just the right amount of food as well. We can't wait to come back and try more items. read more
