Let's Go!! A new Afghan restaurant in Concord. We have been waiting for this place to open and we were super excited to try this place out with family and friends. The food is amazing and very authentic, even down to the skewers they serve the kebabs on. We especially loved the Qabeli Palaw, the Manto Dumplings and of course the Kebabs. Special thanks to Mohib for his incredible hospitality, he made us feel as though we were dining at his home. Our server Jose was very attentive and made sure our glasses were full and dishes cleared and food spaced appropriately as to enjoy each dish. We will be sure to come back soon and sample their other amazing dishes. Welcome Mazza, we are excited you are here!

Mocktail. It had ginger and mint. Really refreshing.

Food: great flavors. Got a lot of chicken for the price! Service: exceptional! Ambiance: it was slow in a Tuesday, but nice restaurant. Bathroom: egg.. maybe some cleaning needed

The food was delicious! This was truly the best chapli kabob I've ever had! The manto was really, really good, too. Another plus is the generous serving size. Will definitely be back.

    My favorite Ashak dumplings.

I had the pleasure of visiting Mazza for the first time today, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff's professionalism was evident, providing exceptional service from start to finish. The restaurant itself is impeccably clean and well-organized, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The menu offers a wide range of options, ensuring there's something for everyone, and it's particularly kid-friendly, making it an excellent choice for families. The food was absolutely delicious--flavorful, affordable, and prepared to perfection. Every dish was a treat for the taste buds, showcasing a true mastery of culinary skills. In addition to the food, the restaurant boasts a stunning view that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. Whether you're seated inside or outside, the picturesque scenery complements the overall experience.Convenience is also top-notch, with ample parking available at the back of the restaurant, making it easy for all guests to find a spot.Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fantastic meal in a beautiful setting. Chapli Kabab

Tried this place for lunch and it was by far the best afghani food I've had in the Bay Area. The meat dishes were so juicy and flavorful and fresh, the chapli kebab was sizzling on the skillet, the rice was pillowy and seasoned to perfection. It was nearly empty on a Sunday for lunch the entire time we were there - let's support this incredible business, people!

    Receipt, overcharged.

This is the second Afghan restaurant in Concord that has overcharged me. The first one was the one on Clayton Road. Menu on the website clearly shows the eggplant dishes $7.99. It charged me three dollars extra which is almost 50% more than what I'm supposed to be charged. See attached picture.

The smashburger had an off-putting sweet element I couldn't put my finger on; could've been the bun, sauce, perhaps oil it was cooked in? Crinkle fries weren't quality, & the mozzarella sticks had next to zero cheese inside. Forget about a cheese pull, I basically bit into an empty tube of fried breading. Instead of marinara (always my preference), we were given ranch, as it seemed they were running on a limited menu that night. My companion was not a fan of his chicken wings with a sweet & spicy "candy" sauce. I hate for this review to be an exercise in whiny complaints but food like this is the reason I'm apprehensive to try new eateries.

I'm not an authority on Afghan food so this is rated as an outsider…read more Overall the food can be summarized as: lightly seasoned, enjoy the simple flavors of each component, and Must use the sauces to complete the dish. I personally think everything needed some salt, but maybe it's meant to be this way. Highlight is most definitely the green sauce (yogurt and chili, not spicy), baklava (sweet sticky on the bottom and flaky crisp on top, not overly sweet), yogurt mint drink (dough). Shami beef and chicken kebab were juicy and not dry. Through a bit of miscommunication.. I was given the yogurt drink instead of the normal side of yogurt cucumber sauce for the meat, and was warned by Ali that some people don't like it since it's a yogurt drink with salt, but honestly it was great and was essentially a yogurt mint sauce I expect from other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern type places but more watery. So admittedly I just took sips of this while taking bites of the kebab and rice and it was pretty much the flavors I was looking for, but an extra step. Beef Mantu was another source of confusion since there are regular and homemade versions (I didn't realize). They made me the homemade version without confirming with me on the phone; no problem. It was filled with lightly seasoned beef and topped with interesting spices. Overall not bad not great, definitely needs sauce / salt. Too light in my opinion. And for $25 I wouldn't get again not worth it. The customer service from Ali was great. Knowing this was my first time he explained everything, offered to charge me less due to the miscommunications (I declined), and gave complimentary side of sauce and baklava as a nice gesture. Good food. I know how to order next time. Extra green sauce or yogurt drink all over.

Service was pleasant, and we received enough attention throughout the meal course. Great, open seating with the view on the Monument Boulevard, that was bright and comfortable. The outstanding Afghani food, and even better the desserts with saffron tea made this experience complete throughout. Would highly recommend Narunj Palow with thinly sliced dates. Turned out to be a little bit pricier than I thought it would be for a lunch, however, it really did worth it.

Just a heads-up: the red sauce is very spicy, so use it with caution! This was my second visit, and you've definitely won me over. Interior austere with no decor. R & B Music from FM with commercials. Service wasn't quick as the single person on duty was packaging orders previously placed. When he was available, I placed order which was ready in 11ish minutes. Offerings (halal): chicken sandwich, tenders, rice bowl, wings, salads, wrap, pizza, kebabs, drinks, sides (4). Set orders begin at $10. Bites: tenders & crispy fries (10) -about 20 pieces 3/8" regular cut fries, crunchy, not mushy, tasted ok, nothing special -dab of cole slaw tastes fresh, crunchy, 3 pickles tart. -small piece of tender crunchy on outside, dryish bland on inside. Mild Thyme sauce added zest. Mac & cheese (4) initially tasted watery, bland, warm. When it cooled, cheese more pronounced, velvety, had a slight peppery kick. Also slight sodium aftertaste. 3.5 stars. service lackluster. Tender passable. Mac Cheese is the star. Quantiy/pricing reasonable.
