They didn't have any custard filled donuts, however they had custard-topped pastries. Since they have a custard ingredient, it would be great if they can sell custard filled bars. They had the long glazed donuts anyway. (Customer service tip: they can provide training to their workers on how to upsell the custard options in particular.) Got half a dozen plus an extra pastry. This wasn't intended. I only wanted six. While the young girl informed there was an extra cost for one item, she didn't inform me of what ISN'T included in a regular half-dozen, BEFORE putting it in the box. I was craving donuts early afternoon and decided to go to Mazzoa since they have great reviews. Not sure if it was just later in the day but almost half of the donuts I ordered were dry and stale. Overall, the space looks great and somewhat instagrammable but it was a bit in random places. For example, the neon sign was above a doorway of a hallway, it might be better somewhere isolated so people can take pictures without hovering over those ordering. The lady who helped me was really nice and answered my questions. A bit bummed out that I didn't get to try their cronuts since they ran out early, but that's my mistake! I had high hopes for this donut shop, but was extremely disappointed. I am not sure why other people rated them so highly, because my experience was the complete opposite. To start, their prices are extremely high! I paid almost $20 for a dozen of donuts that consisted of regular donuts only, glazed, old fashioned, etc. The size of their donuts are regular sized, so I am not sure of the reason behind such high prices. There were only a few selections left like maple, glazed, coconut, chocolate, apple fritters, bars and a few others. Granted, it was my fault for going this late in the day. So if you have your heart set on a specific flavor, go early. I asked the cashier how early they open and he said 5:30am. I can't wait to try their sprinkles and blueberry. I'm surprised by the glowing reviews. This place keeps getting more and more expensive. It's ridiculous. When I first started coming here a dozen was $14. I reviewed this place a year ago and in my review I stated a dozen was now over $18. I just came in here yesterday and a dozen is now $23.45??? When I'm not road tripping I pick up a few boxes for colleagues too. Everyone loves Mazzoa. These are simple donuts and I tend to gravitate towards the classic type vs. the donuts that have way too much going on. Friends of mine told me about this donut joint, so decided to give it a try. Its a cute little mom & pop place has your basic standard donuts. I have been here 2x so far and I got their cake donuts and yeast donuts. I have to say their yeast donuts are way better than their cake. Their cake donuts flavor are good but little bit on the drier side. Their stand out one would be apple pie donut. OMG I feel like I was eating a slice of apple pie.
