I'm so happy my friend recommended this place to me because it is exceptionally better than the place by my apt that I have been going to. This place is much cleaner, the atmosphere nicer and my nails lasted way longer. Which, let's be honest is the best part about my experience b/c it makes it worth every penny. I actually don't get manicure's that often because I end up peeling the polish off once it starts chipping, which is usually like day 2. But, not here. My nails lasted a whole week. No chipping, no temptation to peel the rest of the polish off. Yippee! The one thing, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just be prepared that they take a long time doing your nails. I got a manicure and pedicure and I was there over 1 1/2 hours. It was nice to sit and relax on this particular day, but I know I don't always have that kind of time. This place has been going...downhill since I first went there. The main problem: the past several times I've gotten a manicure they've cut me--EVERY single time, over a period of several months (I stopped going here regularly). And not just one finger, it's at least two and the last time, three. So I bleed, they sorta apologize, they put a few drops of some crazy antiseptic that stings like HELL and makes my fingers throb for the rest of the night. That's not even worth the extra $5 on Wednesdays. Next. A few months ago, I was getting a pedicure and a girl came in a few minutes after me and sat down in the chair next to me. The employee used a special nail cutter on one of my toenails and set it down on the pedicure chair tub thing. Then, the employee working on the girl next to me needed the same instrument. So the employee working on me just hands the cutter to the other employee, and bam, she uses it on the girl. No sterilization or anything. Now, I'm clean, and my feet are clean...but this just shows that although they've made some decorative changes to their place and it looks nice overall, they actually don't seem to keep their instruments clean. HINT: have new ones for every customer! The customer service, in general, has slipped too. They always used to ask me, "would you like something to drink?" Occasionally, I'll see other people with drinks, but they forget to ask me. Or somehow, even though I'll arrive well after other customers, somehow my pedicures are finished first. I hate that. Anyway, I feel a two-star rating is a bit harsh, BUT this place is more like average and minus one star for cutting me EVERY SINGLE time during a manicure. They are right next door to Yoberri, which is nice, and they do still honor the rewards card :) They're not outrageously horrible, but they need work. read more

Be prepared for a longer session, they take their time (which is what I love most). This place gets an A+ for customer service! We had a really late mani/pedi appointment... I don't know why they let us make an appt at 715 when they close at 8, but before we even got started they told us that we wouldn't have time to dry our nails. We were fine with that, but when we were done, they still let us dry our nails until 815! We didn't fell rushed whatsoever! Overall the techs are friendly. I was just in here with 5 friends getting ready for my wedding. This was my first time in, but it was great. Each of us enjoyed our manicures and pedicures and they all looked great. They let us bring in some champagne, so that was cool too. My pedicure is still going strong after 4 days, but my nails have started chipping. I got a french, which may have made a difference. Now I understand why all the other reviewers said this is the only place they will go to get their nails done! I live just around the corner but went based on Yelp reviews. I wanted to use a youswoop to go to another place but decided I would splurge on paying cash for the pedi here. It was well worth it! Comfortable chairs (I didn't try the massage feature but the chair itself was nice) and the nail technician was meticulous about the pedi. It took a while but I don't care because she was very thorough and made me feel like I was getting a lot of bang for my (30) buck! I also agree the employees were very nice and one tech (not even the one who did my nails) called someone else over to take the sample swipes of nail polish off my thumbnail. Let's be real, there's approximately 4 billion nail places in Chicago. But for some reason, I LOVE this place! I don't know what it is they do, but my manicures always last twice as long as other places (aka Pinky's). Cherry on top is the mini shoulder massage they give you while your nails dry. I have been to nail.com a bunch of times because it is conveniently located across the street from my condo. I feel like the service is inconsistent. The last time I went a man did my pedicure and didn't even ask if I wanted my nails cut or filed. He just cut them... pretty short. The polish job was terrible. I left looking my pedicure was a week old because he didn't paint the nails to the cuticle. Everytime I get my nails done there it seems like the polish only lasts a day or two. I know that when I go for a manicure and pedicure, I want a relaxing experience... It is hard to feel relaxed when the music is blasting. I went in yesterday for the first time for the wednesday special. i made an appointment and got right in. i was offered a beverage and the staff was helpful in helping me find my usual color that was not displayed on the shelf, so at first i was impressed. my pedicure was ok. the jets were not on in the foot bath which sucked and i dont remember getting the foot scrub/salt. then the girl starting painting my toes (french pedicure) and it hurt so bad. first, she cut my nails too short then when she painted the tips the polish got under my nails and when she used remover to clean it up i felt like she took a knife blade to my toe. She was digging into my nails so bad i pulled my foot back and she still kept doing it. my manicure felt very rushed. while i was getting my manicure done, 2 more customers walked in and my girl like freaked out. first she muttered "oh my god" then when the 2nd person came in she looked up in swore. after the first person came in, she started to rush my manicure which i didnt really appreciate. she put the polish on very quick and goopy so they dont look that great. also, while i was getting my manicure, another customer sat down to get her manicure done and her nail tech abandoned her to do one of the new person's nails. she was fairly calm, but i would not have been happy. since my polish was on so thick i had to sit there for 45 min until they were dry. i messed up one nail twice while waiting which they fixed & i appreciated. also, its only been about 24 hours and the polish has already started to crack. given my experience, i probably wont be back. i would maybe try the one on clark, but ill probably stick to pinky nails. read more

When a girl finds a good nail place, she sticks to it. I've been going to nail.com (cheesy name, but I'll let it slide) for a few years now and always have a good experience. Sure, there are times when I've wanted to slap the lady talking way too loudly on her cell, or the girl eating subway (seemingly with extra onions) next to me...but, these are the potential pitfalls of any Lincoln Park nail salon I suppose. Color selection is fabulous. They're always on top of the trends, and display them well. It's clean. Very clean. Ambiance is quite nice...music selection can be spotty (ie. I've been subjected to having to listen to Celine Dion for an hour...ugh) and there's even a nice big flat screen tv. I personally opt to catch up on celeb gossip magazines which they always have. (And recent ones - not from September of 2006 or something). Price is reasonable. $15 for mani $30 for pedi, or $40 for both. Note: if you go on a Wednesday it's $35. Sure, there are places you can go for slightly less, but I'm willing to pay a bit more for a significantly more enjoyable experience. They hang up your coat, offer you a beverage (water, soda, hot tea), and give you a nice shoulder massage as you commence the nail drying process (which can sometimes seem like hours!). So, I'm taking a star off (though it would only be half of one if that were an option) because I have definitely experienced inconsistencies in service. There's one nail technician in particular who seems to have major PMS everytime I get her. She's kind if scary. Sometimes it's very fast, other times it takes significantly longer. Sometimes the massage is 2-3 minutes other times it's 10-20 seconds. These are little things, but feel the need to mention them. This is definitely one of the best neighborhood nail salons - AND they just opened a third location on Diversey (right across the street from the brown line stop) where Paint used to be. I'm glad the business is doing well, and it will continue to be my go-to nail place. read more

Clearly I will not be returning. So I tried Nail.com, and I was totally pleased. Very clean and very thorough. My nails still look good on day 3, which is great. I felt a great attention to detail and it shows. The only small complaint is that they don't have the good UV dryers for hands and feet. I'm not a huge fan of the table with the lights and one little fan. Given all the other positives, this will be my new go-to for now. read more

I went here to try because it is so close to my apartment. The first time was alright. The second time I got my nails dipped and my experience was less than stellar. After the girl finished my nails looked nice, however within 2 days two of my nails chipped (my last dip manicure lasted almost a month). I went back in to get them fixed, they happily agreed to fix them. While fixing them I learned that the first girl never put one of the crucial top coats on to activate the color so now when the kind lady fixing them was finished I had two nails that were significantly different in color. She tried to fix them without having to start completely over but that did not work. Since then they have not looked nice, chipped again. I was very disappointed in the end. I wanted to enjoy this salon because it is so convenient. Sad day. read more

RUDE STAFF, UNORGANIZED AND POOR WORK!!! I needed another pedicure the same day to cover up what they did! My friend and I were excited to try out Nail.com for our girl's night. We set a reservation for mani/pedi's at 6:30pm, grabbed a bottle of wine and headed in for some pampering and girl talk. After waiting 45 minutes to get seated in a manicure station (after people who walked in after us) our manicurists were cold and seemed to be rushing to get finished. They asked us to pay before our polish, and we pointed out that we were also getting pedicures. The women seemed annoyed and restated that we needed to pay now. I paid by credit card and my friend gave $40 for a $35 service. The woman giving her a manicure never even offered her change. The pedicures were nice, but also rushed. While we were still getting our toes painted all of the employees put on their coats and stood around us waiting for us to leave, but not before accusing us of not paying. I had to pull out my credit card receipt to prove my payment and my friend had to directly confront the women who took her $40, before she remembered she had been paid. They put saran wrap on my toes while they were still wet. Surprise, surprise I need a paint change the same day I paid for a pedicure, because the paint is extremely messed up. I understand they wanted to go home, but if they had seated us closer to our reservation, we would not have been there so late. This place was a huge let down!!! It's nice they offer the BYOB option; however, there are several other nail salons in Chicago that offer the same feature, believe in performing quality work, and treat clients with respect. read more

I chose to visit this salon based on all of the positive Yelp reviews it received and I'm very glad I did. I went on a wednesday afternoon for their $35 mani pedi special and it took about two hours for the entire, blissful process to come to an end. First, I was directed to massage chair where I received a very thorough pedicure with an equally exhaustive leg and foot massage. I wanted to marry that lady by the time the hot towels came off. No pain, of course. Why should there be? The manicure was great too. I'd never received a hand and arm massage like that during one before. The woman who worked on my nails was careful and precise, constantly self-checking; making sure that I was pleased with the shape and color. While waiting for my nails to dry at the 'drying station', someone came by and gave me a quick neck and shoulder massage. The drying process took about 30 minutes on its own. Worth it for a chip-free existence, in my humble opinion. Overall, A+ The only cons: -no beverage service -The nail polish selection and wait areas can feel a bit crowded. read more

This place is definitely one of the nicest decor-ed places I've seen. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. And the PROCESS of the pedicure may have been the best (IE there was a great exfoliating leg message etc), and they offered a beverage; which I've never experienced before. This is where they get the 2.5 stars. However, the end result of my mani/pedi- I've definitely had better!! It wasn't good, wasn't horrible. But I could see brush strokes on the color in my toes, and my french pedicure was chipping after just ONE day!!!! They offer you Diet Coke, Coke, or water when you arrive and you get a short complimentary neck and shounder massage while your nails dry. i want to love this place. i really do. if you are in the mood for a relaxing mani pedi this is the place to go- super cute interior, tvs have E! on, staff are all very friendly. i went in this past sunday to get a gel fill and they looked at me like i had two heads when i asked if they used the motorized files. whoever was working the front desk then argued with me about the difference of using a file and doing it by hand or using the motorized one. i left with a headache and walked down the block to strong nail. when my mother comes to town i will take her here because it is cute. pedicure was above average again tho. read more
