Be aware that this shop puts an illegal 3-month expiration date on gift cards. My friend bought me a $30 gift card in October 2025 and the owner put an expiration date for Jan 2026. I thought she was just putting there as a courtesy and did not bother to ask thinking she would still honor it if just a few months late. Oh boy No. She declined the gift card when I went in Mar, only two months after the expiration date. My friend just basically gave her $30 and she took it without blinking. According to Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009, Gift cards cannot expire for at least 5 years from purchase or last reload. Illinois even has stricter rule about it stating that retail gift cards generally cannot have an expiration date. If a card says it expires, that term is typically unenforceable in Illinois. I don't care how often you need to go threading your eyebrows, but 3-month expiration period for gift cards is illegal. I will be filing a complaint with Illinois Attorney General's Office Update: your terms and conditions on the gift card are ILLEGAL. I was not rude to your staff. You did not want to provide me the service so you asked your assistant to do my eyebrows to get me out of the door. I did not want to waste my friend's money so I accepted and tipped her well. The gift card is good for two services and you took it and said that's it. If I'd known this is illegal, I would have kept the gift card as evidence and refused your service. read more

They do a great job waxing - and I had so much less pain than I ever have had before. But they are so unprofessional - they offer no gowns, towels, or cover ups to change into so you're basically undressed with no cover. To make matters worse, someone knocked, didn't wait for an answer and just barged in with me there in my underwear. She didn't even apologize (maybe a language barrier) and then just started speaking in another language. I understood the language she was speaking and spoke right back sharing that this was not ok. She spoke back in broken English that she thought it was fine. Later I got charged a fee for using a debit card. I asked if I could just use a credit card instead (since it seemed there was a fee either way) and they said there was no way to change any charge (even if it's wrong) once it's gone through. I don't feel this was a big deal since it wasn't much but I was so surprised that even if a charge is wrong they have no way to change it. Unless you are fluent in Hindi or Gujarati and comfortable being walked in on in your underwear I would not go here. It is possible she treats white customers less casually (I am of Indian origin too). Most reviews are for brows so maybe it's my bad for having gone in for waxing. It was quite shocking and completely different from my first experience there. read more

Recommend proceeding with caution here. Started going to this salon after moving to the neighborhood. I have somewhat thick eyebrows that require minimal shaping -- which has never been a problem at any salon I've gone to in the past 11 years. At a routine threading clean-up, one of the threaders took a small chunk of my left eyebrow off. I panicked slightly while in the chair, as that felt like an unusual spot to thread from, which was confirmed when I was handed the mirror. The threader also seemed to notice this and notice my noticing, as she said I could "pencil it in" (with make up); otherwise, no acknowledgement or apology. This was almost two years ago now and I am still struggling to grow the patch back in. I've gone to two other salons as a regular since (I refuse to come back here) and every threader I've sat with since (3 - 4 total) have agreed when I've asked them to avoid that spot while I grow it back out. Again, if you're an eyebrow threading girly, I'd proceed with caution. One quick and careless movement has caused me frustration for nearly two years now. I am now in the process of not threading at all in hopes of growing it back out. read more

I have walked past Pinkal's Threading & Waxing Salon a few times since they opened but never stopped in. I finally decided to check out the salon after seeing a few before and after photos. I nervously went in with my reference photo to show the esthetician what I wanted. This wasn't my first rodeo because anytime I visit a new place I show a photo of me with the best version of my eyebrows. Pinkal completely understood my fear and quickly worked to sooth my nerves. She explained your background to me which made me more confident. Currently she is the only esthetician so I wouldn't have to fear working with a new person every time I visit the salon. She talked me through the process I can take to grow my eyebrows out more evenly. I've been to a few shops in the area and this was the most pain free experience. I've had people in the past pluck my eyelashes so it is very nerve wrecking testing out a new person. I haven't gotten my eyebrows threading in over a month so I had a lot of overgrowth so the fact it didn't hurt was mind-blowing. Normally I countdown to the moment it is over or take longer to come back. I can see myself becoming a frequent customer to Pinkal's. I plan on trying out the other services and coming to the shop when I move from the area. I loved Pinkal's energy and I know whomever else joins the shop will have her level of detail. Always have a great experience with Pinkal! I go to her whenever I am in town for brow threading. Sometimes there is a wait right after work so I usually try to go early to mid afternoon during the week and am in and out in less than 10 min. Eyebrows are always shaped perfectly at the end!
