I had dark brown hair almost black when I first met her and she turned me blonde the first time! Most hairstylists can't do that! Trust me after many trials I've seen those yellow highlights. Not with Marlene! She has an array of colors to choose from and works very well from pictures you bring in. She is always very very busy which is why I book my appointments at least a month in advance! She's that good. I in the past boxed dyed my hair red and over that I went black because hated the red hair on me which has been over 8 months that all that happened. I went in wanting a color correction and a trim and my appointment was with Marla. I know that color correction take a couple of sessions especially to remove the red. Well I can say that she honestly got me to a decent brown. I also got a trim to help with the removal of the colors, my hair is a little shorter than how I wanted it but I mean I understand the process of it. I want to start off by saying that the girl that permed my lashes was very nice. Both in person and over the phone. However, she did a terrible job perming my lashes. The curl is different on each eye. I lost a lot of lashes on my left eye. My inner corner lashes look like they got smashed (literally) and constantly touch my eyelid which had caused lots of irritation. She also burned off my lower lashes. I feel she did a very messy job and got the perming solution everywhere including the skin on my eyelid. The skin on my left eyelid was very red and irritated and eventually started flaking off and peeling. I hate leaving negative reviews but be advised! I would hate to see other girls get their lashes butchered like mine were. Thankfully I have long and full lashes so the gaps and sparse areas where I lost my lashes are not as noticeable as they would be on someone with smaller/shorter lashes. I'm now using castor oil in hopes of regrowing the lashes I lost If u want a bomb ass lash perm by someone who knows what they're doing hit up eyedo lashes in Culver City. read more

SO Awful! 9 inches of my hair literally ripped off after coming here for the first time. Marla proudly sent me home with hair that she knew she screwed up. She happily charged me $185. About 4 inches of my hair broke off at the salon. You couldn't even run your fingers through my hair & It didn't even feel like hair. She lied and said that my hair would get better with treatments. I went home & did a treatment, nope. My hair continued to rip several more inches. My hair color isn't even nearly how I wanted it! I even showed her pictures of how I wanted it. I actually made my appointment with Marlene (because I read such good reviews), but for some reason, Marla is the one who ended up doing my hair. When I called to let them know what happened, they refused to refund me. Instead, they had me awkwardly come in yesterday for an extremely short haircut (for free). She apologized and said that she "must have miscalculated". I was VERY nice and forgiving. I called back today so that I could get hair extensions (that I was gladly going to pay for) to replace all of the hair that she caused me to lose. Another girl answered & went to go get Marla. Marla rejected the call and said that she'd call me back. Nope. I never got that call. She's probably far too embarrassed. My business has already gone somewhere else. And my extensions are beautiful (: Not only all of this, but Marla was also pretty quiet the entire time she was doing my hair. Not friendly. And pretty awkward from the start. I wanted to love this place, but I didn't! I came in for extensions (tracks). I got them done on a Thursday, I did think it was a bit pricy. 340 to be exact! On Saturday the extensions were already coming off, I got them sewed in, well they were half way off. I let Marlene know, she was nice enough to sew them in again for free! This was on a Tuesday! Marlene took care of my hair a little over a week ago. I finally said goodbye to my long hair and welcomed a new look. Marlene is simply awesome! I met her for the first time last year in Spring when I decided to get an ombre. After doing much research she was the only one who fit my qualification needs. Now she's the only one I trust with my hair! There is no one else I would have allowed to cut my hair the length I wanted it. After having long hair for quite a while this was a major decision for me. As usual the results were just what I wanted and then some.
