I stopped by this spot in Athens because the chicken and waffle were intriguing! This sandwich did appear daunting at first, but has great flavor! I really enjoyed the coleslaw and the chicken was very crispy! The service was very friendly and accommodating. It can get a little busy, but there is a good amount of seating inside, so should not have any problem unless it is a busy time like Sunday brunch! Idk why but I was expecting a sit down restaurant. I'd had it saved in my list of places to check out but didn't really read through the reviews before going. I wanted a raw experience, not influenced by others. So I was a bit deflated when we walked in and it was counter-order setup but that's okay. There seemed to be only one person working. She was really nice and helpful but surely busy, which was fine, but as we were leaving the crowd started hitting and I wondered how well she could manage that solo. I could be wrong though, someone may have been in back and I just couldn't see. I ordered the Overhard Egg, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Melted Cheddar, Mayo Waffle with Spiced Tots (nice). Hubby ordered the Super Cluck with Maple Glazed Chicken, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Cheddar, Sriracha Mayo, Sunny-Side Up Egg. Mine was good, his was super yummy, just the right amount of heat and sweetness. Oh! I also gotta mention the REAL Vermont Maple Syrup. That's very much appreciated over corn syrup garbage. Nice touch! We both had regular coffees. I would've liked a decaf option, since I'm a bit intolerant to caffeine but I can drink it. The coffee had good flavor. I think maybe having the creamers in disposable individual ramekins is probably just extra work if not for to-go orders but that's whatever. It's a cool place and I can see why it's popular. I was not impressed with their late-night service. First of all, there is a Bruxie Bouncer who is super rude and scolds you that there's a 40 minute wait (despite the inside of the restaurant being empty). It's like they don't want the business... On Broad Street, so I shouldn't have been surprised when there was a homeless person camped out right at their front door. Just me and my daughter (two females) so that was discomforting. I ordered the chicken and waffle and my daughter ordered the chocolate waffle with no whipped cream. When I first got the waffle, I realized it was crispy and I was very excited because it seems like when we get waffles at places, they are typically soft and they shouldn't be if they're fresh and made correctly. A few bites and I realized that it was deep-fried, which was interesting. The inside was a little mushy. I don't know if it was because it was not cooked all the way or if because it absorbed so much oil that the inside was mushy. Regardless, about halfway into the waffle, it became nauseating because of the greasiness. The chicken fingers were excellent. Nice real cuts of white meat, chicken, hand, battered and freshly fried. Stopped in on a Sunday morning and it was not crowded so able to grab some tables for our group. The employee greeted us at the counter right away and we were able to place our order and get our drinks to sit and catch up with each other. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time with our large order and since it was quiet it gave us good time to chat. All of the food came out hot and prepared as ordered. The eggs were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the waffle since it was more savory with the breakfast sandwich. My kids both loved their fries and sandwiches they ordered. Said the fries were cooked great and had LOTS of toppings. The chicken on the sandwich was also tender and juicy! They really also enjoyed their order. The chicken and waffles here are a must-try! The chicken had a delicious, distinctive seasoning that stood out from other places. The food was hot and clearly freshly made. The waffles had a satisfying crunch and paired perfectly with the Bruxie syrup. We also ordered 'THE ORIGINAL' to go, which was equally tasty. This place has been on my list for a while now, and I finally had the time to come here for dinner. When I went, it was empty but it took me a while to choose what I wanted. I ended up ordering loaded fries (love loaded fries with a passion) and the nashville hot chicken sandwich. Price is decent for how filling it is, and didn't take too long for it to come out either. The flavor was there!! The fries were crispy, the chicken was crispy and seasoned amazingly, and the ranch was good (we love a good ranch)! The only downside was that I had originally ordered the waffle sandwich but I guess the cashier didn't hear me correctly, or wasn't being attentive enough because I ordered loaded fries and he had put in "side of fries". I've also heard similar instances with the same cashier, so I would just double check your order before paying. Stopped in for a late lunch. The guy working the register looked like this was the last place he wanted to be, but the food was excellent. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Waffle Sandwich and a side of "Spiced" Tots which had no spice and were barely warm. The sandwich was excellent - great flavor and the waffle, while not hot, was crisp and buttery. Daughter had the jumbo tenders & waffle fries. Tenders were piping hot, juicy, and full of flavor. I ordered a egg, cheese, and chicken waffle sandwich with a side a spicy tatter tots. I loved the tatter tots they were hot and delicious. However, my waffle was cold and on the harder side and I didn't love that. Everything else on my waffle was delicious and hot and it compensated for the fact that the waffle was cold. I gave Bruxie a 3 because my waffle was cold and both of my friends waffles were cold as well so we assumed that they premake the waffles. My meal was also $20 which is more on the expensive side for what I got. We got 2 combos: Holy Sandwiches, Tater Tots and drinks plus 1 Orange Dreamsicle milkshake for about $45. The Strawberry lemonade was the best part. The outside of the waffle had a slight crunch on top along with the crunchiness of the chicken breast that balanced out the bottom layer of waffle that was a little soggy from the sauce and syrup. Bruxies is a great spot to try. I had the 3-piece chicken with the original seasoning and Bruxies' sauce, and the chicken was very juicy and generously sized. The Bruxies sauce has a sweet, honey mustard-like flavor that made for a great dipping sauce. It feels like an upgraded Chick-fil-A, and I'll definitely be coming back to try their chicken and waffles or other dipping sauces. One meal comes with a small cup of the Bruxies sauce, but additional sauces or different flavors cost $0.50 each. The workers were very nice, and the environment was clean. Greetings, I would like to say that I recently had a positive interaction at the Athens, Georgia location on Friday, August 18, 2023. While taking a break from my ministry, I was invited to try Bruxie's. I was unsure what to order, but the staff was patient and took time to explain the menu. I really appreciated that.  The chicken was amazingly juicy, fresh, and well seasoned. I also loved the freshly ground honey mustard sauce. The portions were the perfect size. The prices are thoughtful. I also love the artwork. My favorite part of this experience, though, was when I talked to Scott, who shared the history of the company and future projects. The location is in a centralized location and walking distance to the UGA campus. There is also parking nearby. This location is handicap accessible.  The area is safe, and the restaurant is clean. This is Bruxie's first location outside of California and it is incredible!!! I've eaten here 3 times the first 2 days they opened and tried something different each time. Their chocolate waffles are delicious. Their holy chicken was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of sweetness from the maple syrup. Their waffle fries are better than Chick Fil A's. Their Nashville hot chicken sandwich was better than chain Nashville chicken restaurants, with the perfect amount of spice and a hint of lime. Their cookies and cream shake is out of this world. The staff is super friendly and always makes sure everything is tasting ok and if we need anything. The decor is really well done. They hired a local artist to paint the wall with everything from the local Athens community. Overall from the aesthetic to the flavor to the service, everything was on point. read more

We had high hopes for Bruxie! My husband and I went for lunch on a Thursday around noon. There were a few tables seated that had already ordered and none had their food yet. The large menu boards were great except one would flash back and forth between two different menu pages every ten seconds or so, so it was a challenge to read what they offered. There was only one gal working in the front, and we had to wait a bit to order. I ordered the "limited time only" sandwich that was advertised, but the gal said they could not make it. I ordered the chicken tenders, and my husband ordered one of the chicken and waffle options. We waited 25 minutes for our food to arrive. The fries were good, but the chicken tenders were below average. My husband is generally the most adventurous eater with rather low standards, and he wasn't able to eat more than two bites of his chicken and waffle, explaining that it just wasn't good and made his stomach turn. It looked unappetizing, so I didn't try it. All in all, we were really hoping for a great experience, but we did not find it. read more

Bruxie is the hottest new spot in downtown Athens. The waffles are super crispy, yet still fluffy--great taste and texture. Although I didn't have it, the fried chicken looked absolutely amazing. The storefront gets a lot of natural light and has a very modern design with bright colors and Bulldog-themed decor. The cashier was really friendly.
