    Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Chips
    Richard Walton C.

Getting in and out is easy at this location due to a traffic light on 3rd street. I arrived before the lunch rush obviously since I was able to walk straight up to a cashier. Even after the line backed up to halfway to the front door, it moved very quickly. That's what I like about McAllister's, it's fast food but very healthy. From the time I walked in the door to leaving after eating was a total of 20 mins. Way better than sitting in a drive through lane for 10 mins and eating in your car. I ordered my usual Grilled Chicken Sandwich that comes with one side. I selected the chips which were kettle cooked, a healthier chip in my opinion. The sandwich was excellent as usual, plenty of chicken, honey mustard lightly spread on a croissant with lettuce and tomato. The restroom was spotless and dispensers were full. Outside on the wide sidewalk are eight tables which were being used by a lot of folks.

If you're looking for healthy sandwiches, soups, and salads, you found the right deli. :-) Everything was delicious, and the beverages were really refreshing. This deli is not to far from where I'm staying, but because it's snowing today, I stayed in. I ordered pure sugar cane lemonade, The McAlister's club wrap, chips, potato salad, and a Caesar salad. My husband, and I shared everything. I ate 1/2 of the wrap, a spoon full of potato salad, and a few kettle chips. I don't eat bacon, or tomatoes, so I didn't add any on the wrap. It was ham, turkey, cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, and honey mustard on wheat bread. I will definitely order here again.

Great service! They bring it to you and take it when you're done. Fresh, quality food all around and generous drink sizes. The atmosphere is casual but with class. They have a a monthly plan to get free drinks every day you come in. Parking is in a strip mall parking lot. If you want to get out of the house for a nice sub sandwhich in a clean, classy environment, McAlister's in Bloomington is the place!

Haven't been here is awhile and now wondering why not?!? First off the staff was amazing, very friendly, helpful and fast service too! The restaurant was clean and everyone was wearing masks. The food was outstanding, I got the 4 cheese and tomato soup, came out super hot and delish. Highly recommend and will be back :-)

We were on our way home after church and decided to try out Bloomington's version of McAlister. We were used to a much smaller version in Geneva Illinois. This site is huge. it is well lit with a delightful staff. The cash registers have plexiglass and the staff is gloved. My wife ordered the stuff baked potato with chili. I chose the chef salad. We enjoyed our choices taking home enough for another meal. This place is a definite yes to return for another meal.

I love McAlister's Deli and have eaten at several locations since first discovering it two years ago. My first visit to Bloomington's Third Street location was consistent with all the others: fantastic. The food is always fresh and delicious, and doesn't make me feel horrible after eating it. The service was quick and the employees were very friendly. In regard to COVID procedure, this location is offering both dine in and outdoor seating with reduced capacity, frequent sanitation, and required masks. Highly recommend McAlister's to anyone looking for a quick and semi-healthy meal

SPUD MAX. I would like crisper bacon and more sour cream, but...yummy. I hope the photo show how huge it is, with generous toppings.

Went these yesterday when this guy and girl were working and they acted so annoyed like i was interrupting their conversation by ordering. It was extremely awkward and she kept making comments to the other employee while i was ordering. My sandwich was really good though. The spoon they gave me was nasty tho, the picture below is the spoon after i tried wiping it off with my napkin. I go here a lot and have never had a bad experience until yesterday so hopefully this was a one time thing.

The Village Deli is known for it's amazing breakfast options, including the famous 'pancake the…read moresize of a hubcap' that is somehow perfectly cooked even though it's huge. But rarely is it thought of as a lunch place, and it should be. I, for the first time ever, ordered a lunch item and was seriously impressed. Kids decided to grace us with their presence for lunch (both are in college) and while I'd like to think it was because they missed us, it's more likely they wanted free food. Whatever, it was good to see them and one wanted breakfast food and the other lunch, so the village deli was the choice. My wife ordered the BLT with hot chips, which she said is her go-to every time. She used to work down the street, so she's a regular. I am not a BLT fan, so didn't try it - even for Yelp I'm not touching a fully dressed BLT - but she loved it as usual. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. I usually get breakfast but I had a big breakfast earlier and was craving a sandwich. Glad I made the choice. It was amazing. Huge portion of chicken, plenty of ham and Swiss. If you've read my reviews, you know I had them keep the mustard away from it, so can't speak to that. The hot chips were great. They make their own potato chips, they are served hot/warm, and they might need a bit more salt, but better than french fries. Kid 1 (the one who wanted lunch) ordered breakfast. Ugh. Paxton's Potatoes and the breakfast croissant. Paxton's are basically hash brown/home fries with cheese, gravy and chives. You can add an egg (I suggest it) and the croissant is what you think it is - croissant and egg sandwich, with or without protein addition. Both are great. Kid2 had his usual power breakfast which is a drink plus two eggs, home fries, and one (plenty for two people) pancake. He gets his plain, I suggest banana and walnut additions. He's allergic to nuts so probably a bad idea, lest we need the epi pen. He's a growing boy and still gave me half the pancake if that gives you any idea of the size. Great service as usual. It was a week day, so not too crowded for lunch. Their motto is 'Eat and Get Out' but during lunch it's probably not an issue. On the weekends, the place is slammed full all day - expect a wait and them to rush you a bit. On Sunday it's best to beat the church crowd. TLDR: Eat here if you've visiting your kid at college, looking for a good lunch or great breakfast, and never ever order two pancakes.

They were a bit busy but it didn't seem like a huge crowd today. We sat outside again. I knew what I wanted immediately, and placed our order as soon as our waitress came over to greet us. A cheeseburger for the kid, and a pulled pork sandwich for me. I've never had theirs before. And I never will again. And fries. We got fries. The wait was insane. At least a half hour for very simple dishes. The kid got a tiny burger. Beef and bun. No cheese, no ketchup. I had to ask for cheese. Yes. They messed up a cheese burger. Then there was my pulled pork. It was literally inedible. I've since come to learn that it was not reheated properly, so the goo that covered every bit of meat was fat. It was served cold, for some reason, and the way it was presented on the menu, listed under a picture of some yummy browned wings led me to believe it would be a very different - and HOT- sandwich. The server did offer to take it back, but at that point the meal was ruined for me and I didn't trust them to make anything else, or make it quickly. I made it clear I was very unhappy about such a disgusting sandwich. She took all of 10% off my bill. Better than nothing, but a lot less than I was expecting. if this is how they're doing things now, I'm done with this place. Badly overseasoned fries... cold pulled pork... cheeseburger with no cheese... I mean, come on... and based on what little I caught from people at another table, getting food out seemed to be an issue for them. I'm not sure if any other places nearby that aren't just bars serve decent food, but if they do, you can definitely give this place a hard pass. Yuck.

Bloomington Bagel vs Gables is kind of a hot local debate, but I don't really have a preference and I like both of them for different reasons. I think the quality of the bagels here is a little better (this is the only place where they are made fresh) and there's more customization options for sandwiches, but the Gables bagels are a little bigger and the sandwich style is closer to NY/NJ delis. Lots of options to build you own sandwich here with many bagel and schmear flavours and different veggies. Because the style of bagel is thick/fluffy and not very wide around, sometimes the fillings do not want to stay in the sandwich. They have some delicious options though. I especially love the sushi-inspired Godzilla sandwich made with smoked salmon, miso schmear, and nori. The veggies are always fresh and generously piled on. As for non-bagel offerings, they have some other baked goods, like muffins and cookies. The blueberry muffin I tried was great. The cookies are usually good but kind of inconsistent. They're usually very soft but occasionally you will get a suboptimal crumbly one. The cookies are very sugary and huge. I have been known to eat an entire cookie at once but to be honest I usually regret it, so I recommend splitting one in half to share or save for later. They have coffee and espresso drinks, tea, and smoothies. Unfortunately no decaf coffee or espresso. I keep getting tea to go with my cookie or bagel but the selection is all very cheap brands. I like the chai though. Service is very good. They're on it so you don't have to wait too long even when it gets busy. Sometimes the place is packed and sometimes unexpectedly empty, and I can't figure out if there's any pattern to it.
