I usually don't write reviews but. I've been to McAllister several times in the past where I had to wait at least 20 minutes at the curbside before I have to go into the store to pick up my food. I am not a DoorDash driver in which my food is always placed on the section where the DoorDash drivers pick up orders. I'm disabled so it's a lot for me to get out of my vehicle and go inside the store to pick up my order when clearly when placing my order I choose curbside pick up so I'm not sure where the disconnect is but it should be a difference between a DoorDash order versus a customer who drives to the facility to pick up their own order. read more

This place has really gone down hill since they changed managers. Cashier was rather "surly". She was kind of rude about having to get us a kids menu for my grandson. Also when my husband told her he didn't need a receipt when the paper ran out, she continued to make him wait for his drink until she changed out the paper. I really wish we had McAlister's in Jacksonville. We had one for a short time, but for some reason it didn't last here. =( I love their chips and queso cheese. It's so good and it's priced really well. You can get it to go (of course), but if you eat in the restaurant and run out of chips, they are always happy to give you more. I also love their baked potatoes. They are HUGE! They take two very large russet potatoes and put them together to make one so big your eyes will pop out like one of those cartoon characters the first time you see one. You can have it topped with all kinds of goodness. I'm a picky kinda girl, I I always just get butter, cheese, and bacon. Because the potatoes are so large and the chips and queso are a large portion, that's what hubby and I order most of the time and we share. Everyone raves about their sweet tea, but I'm probably one of the only true Southerners who doesn't like sweet tea. I know, I'm really weird. Having said that, I actually kinda like their sweet tea. It's a first, trust me. I like it from nowhere else. Hubby likes their tea, so he usually order it. I love their lemonade, so that's what I always order. They give free refills on both. You can also purchase both by the gallon. Clean restaurant. Friendly, cheerful, helpful staff. There are no servers. You order at the counter, they give you a number for your table, and then someone brings the food to you. You're expected to bus your own tables, but there's always someone coming around asking if you need refills and also taking away anything your finished with. They have a plethora of sandwiches. The only one I have ever tried was the French Dip and it was good. Can't bring myself to try the others because I can't get away from our usual order. They also offer different soups each day. Hubby and I tried the potato soup and it was good. They offer free Wifi too. When I visit MS, I never miss an opportunity to have a meal at McAlister's. read more

I have been around the South & have ate at over 31 McAlister's deli and this one is by the worst one with the worst service I've ever seen. The one taking our order was non existent when we walked up and was zoned out. They were able to take our order timely with no issues at that point. After we got our drinks and sat down was approached and told they could not make my sandwich the way I asked. Granted I had my sandwich made the same way for the last 4 years at over 31 locations. I just explained that if your not able to change the bread they could just give me my money back. I was told it would take 7 business days to get my money back. I explained that was ridiculous for something to take that long but mainly why lie in the beginning and tell me that you are able to make something but then after I pay change your mind. Very upset & would not recommend this location to anyone ever!!!! Very rude manager, very disrespectful, very disappointed in customer service, and poor leadership. Overall if I could leave a 0 star I would happily do so! I left after paying for my food & got only my drink to show for it. $18 for a tea was pretty expensive due to the fact they would not change the bread and I told them to cancel then would take 7 days to get money back after I just paid. I never did receive food. Obviously mentally they were not there & very confused. Went down the road to Chipotle & had an amazing meal with great customer service. We have had issues the last several times we have ordered online for pick up. Gave them one more chance last night and while the food was fine when I arrived to pick it up half my order was missing and what was there was wrong. A drink, sandwich, and side were all missing and a cup of au jous was turned upside down in the bag and leaking everywhere. The young lady that helped to correct our order was great but I heard several other employees standing around bad talking their company and management and usually g derogatory language to do so. This location has the same generic McAlister's food you would otherwise expect, which is to say it is consistently average. That's not a complaint. The food is standard across the restaurants, and there is some comfort in knowing what you can expect when you go in. This location is worse than average in terms of service when compared to other McAlister's restaurants. The staff is marginally friendly, but very inattentive to customers once they have ordered. Your order has a significant chance of being wrong, and if you ask to have something corrected, settle in for a long winter's nap - it won't be fixed any time soon. In my personal experience, the whole table was finished eating before my replacement food came - and that happened only after I went to the counter and asked for it. While at the counter, I met other customers facing the same problem. It's decent. If you like McAlister's, it will be to your liking. Just repeat your order a few times. One last note - I asked for extra jalapeños with our nacho appetizer. They gave us a cup with three (3) jalapeño slices. Three. Wow. read more

This is easily the worst McAlister's I have ever been to. We just walked out of the restaurant because they said they didn't have a sandwich anymore that we pointed to on the menu. The cashier said the general manager had been making changes to their meals lately and hasn't had time to update the menu. This is unprofessional. The least they could do is put some duct tape over the sandwiches that they don't offer anymore IF they don't actually offer them. After we left, I called the pearl location and they assured me that the menu has not changed and they still had the sandwich we asked for. They also told me that all of the McAlister's have the same menu. The last time we went to this location we ordered one sandwich and were given a completely different one. It took over thirty minutes for our food to arrive and some other customers were complaining that they had been waiting over an hour. Also the floors were sticky and we couldn't find a table that was clean. If you want McAlister's, you need to go to the pearl location instead. We will never go back to the Brandon location. It's a shame because it's only about 5 minutes from our house. read more

We take out food at least once a month here! When I have a hankering for a New Orlean's style Muffaletta, I come to McAlister's. It's the closest thing you are going to get in this area without driving closer to the Big Easy! I love their curbside pick up. Just call in your food, they ask for the make and model of your car and bring it to you! They also keep your last order on file in case you want the same thing you ordered last time. Great Sweet Tea! The last time I ordered the Angus Club sandwich. It was amazing! Not to much horseradish. The layers of flavor were so delicious! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars, I didn't receive spoons for the soup I ordered. Oh! The soup is so great. I love the chicken tortilla soup, and I also enjoy the country potato.
