I have decided i won't be going back to the McAlisters at this location. The last 3 times I have been in, the customer service was disappointing. Yesterday, the tea was cloudy and milky. When I questioned the server about it, she just shrugged her shoulders, grunted and said it looks fine to her. Seriously???? Iced tea is NOT supposed to be cloudy. You can never go wrong with lunch at McAlister's! While it's similar to a lot of other fast-casual delis, there's something about McAlister's that stands out. I think it's their AMAZING sweet tea. I love the pick two option as you get the best of both worlds with a half order of pretty much everything on their menu. Plenty of vegetarian options available, though not sure about the vegan side of things. This particular McAlister's is always very clean. Cashier was super rude, kept rushing us while we ordered even though there wasn't a big line, kept asking anything else rudely and interrupting me, when we were done ordering just gestured for me to to insert my card and when I did he reached over and hit the tip button at 5% without even asking me! When I asked him why did he push the tip button he just gestured with his hand for me to move aside! Awful employee, would be fired immediately if worked at a decent place. read more

Holy Cow! What a lunch I had here! Well, not here, but in the car on the way to the airport! I had the chicken club sandwich, the mustard was just so superb and was stuffed so much meat that filled my whole tummy! The experience was friendly and had some of the best iced tea that I have ever had (and I'm quite the connoisseur!) This place went far and above expectations and I will defiantly be back in the very near future!! This is one of my favorite "quick serve" type of restaurants. My favorite is the veggie club! It is a great take on one of my pre-vegetarian favorites - the turkey club. It is light and fresh and perfect meal for summer/spring. I used the app to order this go around and everything was ready for us when we arrived! My husband loves the huge spuds! It is large and very filling. Love the tea - I like to buy by the gallon and get it cut half with sweet and the other half unsweetened tea. read more

Very good service and always well staffed during dinner hour, which is why we choose this location over several closer to our home. Kids favorites include the Bacon Spud and Chipotle Chicken sandwich. I recommend the Shrimp Caesar Wrap, which had a good balance of salad fixings, large fresh shrimp, and not too much dressing. read more

Short version: I won't be going back to this location. Before visiting, I suggest you check out the customer reviews that have been posted within the last year. (1.5 stars) SB Long version: I don't usually write reviews. And if I choose to, it is usually to share about a positive experience. But O feel compelled to share my thoughts on this particular location, because I feel their overall rating of 3 1/2 stars is a complete misrepresentation. To start, let me say our family LOVES the McAlisters organization. When they get it right, they have wonderful food. A wide variety of menu options, delicious tea, and some of the most wonderful customer service around. On experience I had in particular was when my family was going through an extremely rough period. We went to eat at McAlisters for dinner. On this evening the young lady that came to clear our tables and refill drinks. She could sense we were in a down mood. And our is the goodness of her heart, she bought us cookies! Keep in mind this was not a manager, but a teenage crew member. It is personal, heartfelt interactions like this that keep us coming back to McAlisters (not free cookies). But this special moment happened at another location... At this particular store, we have been maybe 50/50 on positive experiences. More times than should be allowed we have had long waits, orders made incorrectly, request to fix mistakes are forgotten, inattentive service, and lack of effort to care for sitting guests. In fairness, when they get it right, it makes for an enjoyable experience. They do have employees that are considerate and want to do good by their customers. But far to often, they don't get it right. As some one that has over 20 years of customer service experience and over 15 years in food service, I'm telling you. This place has to do better. If you are considering eating here, I would urge you to reed the customer reviews. Specifically pay attention to the ratings and when the reviews were written. When this location opened, they start strong, consistently receiving high marks. But. You will notice there has been a SIGNIFICANT change within the last year. I hope the best for this location. But I will not returning to this location until I see a change in the quality of the customer reviews, of ever. There are plenty of other dining options in the area. Plus if I want to get McAlisters, I can drive to another location that is 20 minutes away. I would encourage anyone else that has had a negative experience to share on this forum and contact the corporate office (see below). Maybe enough people complaining will motivate management to implement some changes. This place has so much potential. But not if they continue on with the status quo. Today's experience cannot go unspoken. Today we had 3 hairs in our food. There was a hair in the tomato soup, ranch and sandwich. The first time, I get it got the soup replaced. The manager on duty told us that that's odd they all wear hairnets and acted like we were lying. Then there was another hair on the plate of one our sandwiches. We did get a free meal, which isn't the point, but we aren't lying about 3 hairs. Got the DM information, but not a good experience. read more

Don't bother ordering it online. In early March I submitted an order online, showed up at the time it was supposed to be and nothing. OK, I can wait, so I chill out for about 5 minutes. I stand at the take out area and all the employees walk briskly past me. So, finally I have to go stand in line as if I were just showing up. I inquire about my order and receive a dismissive "yah, we've got it. It will be ready in about 2 minutes." No acknowledgment that it is already late. So, I go wait again. 10 minutes later, nothing. No one comes over, no one gives me an update. So, I go back into line and ask were it is. Another dismissive response, however this time I refuse to move out of line until I have my order. Finally, 20 minutes late I get my order with a roll of the eyes. Thanks but no thanks. The food is just OK, usually they rock on service. Except, I guess, when you order online. read more

Probably the last time at this location. Ordered the roast beef and cheese sandwich and essentially received bread with horseradish sauce on it. Literally two bites of "roast beef" on the sandwich and was nearly all inedible fat. All for nearly $10. Tried a few bites of my son's ham and cheese sandwich which was equally as terrible. There was a little more meat on his but the mustard/mayo on it tasted awful. So disappointing that this place has really gone downhill over the past few years.... read more

Stopped in for a carryout lunch at McAlister's a few days ago. This was my first-ever visit to a McAlister's so I went with a pretty simple order -- a deli sandwich with potato salad. The food was great, especially that potato salad. The menu is also varied and much more than just chips and sandwiches. I've also since tried the chili and it is excellent. Service was good and as mentioned there are a lot of extras available at the condiment counter (pickles, etc.) -- a nice touch. The dining areas were very pleasant and several notches higher than any fast food joint. The only thing I didn't like was having to wait a few extra minutes while the people at the counter conversed with a customer who was apparently someone they knew. No big deal, but that kind of thing has always been a pet peeve of mine. I also thought that the friendliness was a little bit overdone -- I know that some places like to lay that kind of thing on for the sake of "atmosphere", but personally I can do without it. Just saying.... This place definitely hits the spot for lunch and I'll be back -- can't wait to try one of the club sandwiches. read more

I go here all the time and never had an issue until today! I ordered a grilled chicken club no mayo and a spud max. At no point did I mention choose two option. I wanted full on both. I got a half of spud and half of sandwich. Took it back up front to have it corrected. I was told that there was a $8 difference after I had already paid close to $20. They never gave me a receipt either. Then they brought out the correct order and my sandwich didn't have mayo which is what I wanted. But it also didn't have honey mustard so it was dry. Ugh. I ate it anyways because I didn't want to deal with those managers again who can't get an order correctly. As I was leaving I went to get a refill on my tea that all the ice had melted. She didn't even put ice in my refill so I ended up with room temp tea to go. Not happy. I should have have gone to Burger King where I could have had it my way. read more

We normally love McAlister's and used to frequent this location. However, the last two times we have been here, they have messed up our order, even after asking them to correct it! This time, we got it to go and before we left, my husband realized they didn't put his chips in the bag. He told the girl at the counter (who was very sweet!) she asked what kind, he told her regular. We just got home and she gave him salt and vinegar chips and gave me the wrong salad dressing. He is now on his way back for the correct stuff. We have ordered to go from them twice in the last month and both times my husband has had to go back for something. The other recent reviews seem to validate my thoughts. Maybe there has been a management change? I think we will take a break from this location while they get things figured out. read more

I am a fan of anywhere I can get a tasty sandwich and a loaded l, plate sized potato all in the same place. The sweet tea is worth the trip alone, plus you can pick up a coupon good for the 2 for 1 Indians tickets. The Spud Ole is heaven in potato form. The club is your standard club so its not necessarily anything to write home about, but its not bad either. This review is primarily based on customer service. I love McAlister's tea & purchase it by the gallon & glass very frequently. However, the customer service is abominable! Currently the employees are not wearing their masks except under their chin or below the nose. Additionally no one ever smiles or even goes out of their way to try to be helpful. Today I was the only customer waiting to order & one employee was filling orders with her back to me & the other who was supposed to be working the order counter was leaning onto the back counter, appearing to be asleep. He finally looked over, slowly got up, first looking at his phone & then taking my order. He didn't say ANYTHING to me & then looked over at a customer who came in behind me. Took his order & went back to his phone. The other employee who was filling orders had to ask me what I was waiting on & she got my gallon of tea while the other employee did nothing. She filled my gallon & gave it to me with tea all over the outside which promptly stained my shirt. I would not usually complain like this, but this is not the first time I have experienced this completely apathetic, unhelpful, unprofessional attitude from McAlisters in Carmel, IN. I find it to be the norm rather than the exception. I also go to 2 other McAlister's in the area & at 96th & Meridian, they are clearly oveworked due to low staffing, but they are courteous, but as with all of the stores, not friendly and appear bothered that the customers are there. If I could find tea that I liked as much as McAlisters I would most assuredly change due to the customer service. read more

Ordering carry out from this restaurant has turned into a household joke of "well, let's see what we actually get this time". I can't recall the last time we actually received everything we ordered. I got the ham and cheese melt with potato salad, it was very good, filling but not too filling. I ordered my son the grilled cheese with apple sauce. These are 2 of his favorite foods but he took 1 bite of the grilled cheese and wouldn't touch it after that. The sandwich looked as if they toasted the bread and then put the grilled cheese together and cooked it on the grill it was very hard and burned definitely will not be ordering that again. The low score is for how perpetually freezing cold this place is inside every single time we come. They also put way too much ice in the drinks. (At least the cups are huge). I guess they're just trying to freeze us out of here. I seriously can't eat and get out of here fast enough because I'm so cold. On today's latest visit I brought a sweater and am wearing long pants and I am still freezing. My kids complain about the cold too, and we bring hoodies for them to put on when we get inside. As for the food, decent menu choices from sandwiches to soups to salads. I wish they'd bring back flatbreads. Several kids menu items. Large cookies and other options for dessert. read more

Tuesday's and Saturdays are my favorite days here because of their cheddar potato soup! Best. Soup. Ever. I love this place for a quick bite and the food is oh so delicious. I normally get the cheddar potato soup in a bread bowl and half order of the chipotle griller. The sweet tea is to die for as well. This place is a joke. Literally it is the closes McAlister's to our house and we love this restaurant, but considering that every time we have come here they mess up every single time! We order the same thing, a spud with extra chili and cheese and jalapeños. I mean come on how hard is it to mess up, literally little to no chilli, no jalapeños or here you go, no cheese. This time our food was cold, my wife got a side of Mac and cheese and it looked old and cold! This place clearly lacks everything a restaurant needs. We told our server that our order was wrong, he said he would be right back with what we assumed was our chilli and when we waited for 5 mins we went to the front to find him standing around assisting someone else at the counter.
