Great food, but take-out can be a hassle. Employees rushed too much during the busy lunch time and messed up 2 things in one order. Very unpleasant to find the mistake at home. We had even asked specifically if the ham and cheese sandwich was packed after discovering one error. The employee gave one of those "yea yea yea" response. Turns out the sandwich was not in the bag... they didn't forget to charge us for it. The Fishers location on 116th St always appears to have significantly better trained employee than this location. First, I've never understood the appeal of this place. The food is mediocre at best. How do you screw up a BLT&A? Order it without mayo. It took no less than FOUR tries to get it right. Twice it was brought out with mayo. Then it was brought out with no mayo and no avocado. Then it was brought out a forth time (each time the same bacon, mind you) and had to be sent back because it had avocado, bacon, lettuce, no mayo and NO TOMATO. The manager, Ivan, makes this location run like a well oiled engine. He is on top of everything & works very hard himself to make the 116th street location such a success. Their food is delicious, the soups amazing, especially my favorite, chicken tortilla, which has a kick to it. The baked potatoes are so good as is my favorite sandwich, grilled turkey with pepper jack cheese & mustard and my favorite salad, Savannah Chopped Salad. My entire family loves this location & we have used their private room on several occasions for celebrations. read more

At least the food is good if they get your order right. Welcome to tryout first job, we all had it and we probably weren't the best at it. Yup, you just walked into the Carmel/Westfield store on a weekend. I applaud the young teens for getting their first job, but management is failing them. If there is a manager. This was my second and last visit to this location. Don't get me wrong I love McCallisters food, but Fishers or the one by I-69 are my top choices now. So we went in and after 15 minutes of politely working with the trainee at the register I had her read our order back. Granted when I told her 2 kids meals both her trainer and herself were lost. I had her read the order back and it appeared it was right. I then stood by the drink counter and watched the I believe manager and another gentleman messing with a tea brewer. A young gentleman came up and poured our drinks. This was the last of the good service for the day. After sitting down our food came out, but they forgot the kids sides of broccoli. We told the waiter and he brought one out and forgot the other. We asked for the other side and it came out without a fork. So the kids had to share a fork :(. Ridiculous. Our one child asked if they got a toy with their meal. I told her I didn't believe that they had those with their kids meals. She pointed to the girl next to us that had one. I told her, sorry, but it looks like if they can't bring us forks I doubt very much we can get a toy. She was fine with it and I moved on to my potato. This potato was rather dry because they forgot the butter and sour cream. We joked next time we would stop and get silverware, butter, and sour cream at the grocery before we came next time. We kept it positive the whole time, but sad we have to drive a little farther to go to a different store. read more

This place used to be good. Now, they are always understaffed, incredibly long wait times, and the food prep is terrible. Example, I ordered a kid's ham and turkey. They gave me just turkey, then when they remade it, they gave me the same sandwich, and just shoved cold ham in with the hot turkey and cheese. Just don't care. This place will go out of business with that sort of service. I won't be returning after being loyal for years. read more

I am so pleased that this McAlister's Deli opened just 5 minutes from our home! I have always loved their delicious, fresh-brewed sweet tea, and in the past I found the foods I tried to just be so-so. However, I have tried two new items that I highly recommend - the taco salad and the chicken club. The taco salad is a large bowl of super-fresh ingredients, and the chicken club is made with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, and yummy honey mustard. My son brought me home some of their mashed potatoes with gravy, and they were delicious. Very good service and very good food! read more

Best sweet tea!!!!! Carrot cake is delicious and so is the Mac and Cheese! A little over priced, but nice to enjoy from time to time. I recommend the Memphian or the Roast beef, cheddar, and horseradish grilled sandwich. Yum! One downfall... Every single time I go in, they are out of broccoli and cheese soup! Literally some of the worst service I've ever had. One time we went here and it literally took 2 hours for us to get our food. People who arrived AFTER us were getting served. This last time we visited they served us a plate of nachos with hair on it. We asked them to remake the plate of nachos. They said they would and then THEY offered to comp our bill for those nachos. Well, as the guys was handing the SECOND plate of nachos to us I could see there was another piece of hair on the second plate of nachos. We are pretty sure they didn't even remake the nachos. I complained to the manager and asked for my whole bill paid for. I also told them we won't be coming back. The manager stated "We don't have anyone with that kind of hair in the back." That made me angry. Also, it was a blonde piece of hair - nobody at our table has blonde hair, FYI. Ridiculous. He then came out to the table and apologized, gave us free dessert, and offered to give us VIP cards for next time (which was the SAME scenario that happened when we had to wait two hours to get our food.) I told him we won't be back. I don't want a free meal, I just want to enjoy a meal with my kids after a very busy morning. I just want to go to a restaurant and EAT. It is so not worth going to this McAlister's. We love the food but we have never had a good experience with this McAlister's. We will just drive farther to go to a different McAlister's. It's kind of frustrating because the food options around this area is limited. So disappointed. I understand that stores get busy and mistakes happen, hair falls out onto the plate of food. We gave them several chances to make each situation right but they continue to show us that it really doesn't matter to them. That's why their customer service is lacking. I've pointed out the problem and they do nothing to change it. I would've been happy with just getting my nachos remade, but they simply gave us the same plate of nachos with the same piece of hair on it. How is that good customer service? I don't want a free meal. I don't want cookies. I don't want VIP cards. I just want to EAT good food that doesn't have hair in it, and I don't want to wait two hours to get my food. read more

We had gotten a take-out order for lunch at the office. I am gluten intolerant and very displeased to find there were croutons on my salad when I had asked for them to be left off. Now I am unable to eat half of the food I ordered. My coworker was the one to pick up the food and she told me the tea bar attendant was very rude to her when she asked for a drink carrier. He apparently just threw it across the counter to her. I enjoy McAlister's food but this specific location needs to get their rude employees under control (although I did not experience it first hand, this is not my first encounter at this specific occasion that I have had to deal with someone with an attitude) and either improve the ability to take orders or the kitchen needs to slow down while making the food to make sure it is correct. The food is great, but the customer service- not so much. Very unhappy, will be talking my business to a store with better trained employees! read more

We walked in ten minutes before closing time and were cheerfully welcomed by the staff. The manager offered us a lemonade while we waited for our dinner. It was wonderful to see a dedicated team focused on customer service. We were thankful and look forward to our next visit! read more
