I was actually surprised to see that my former review was also three stars... And then again I'm not. In order to get a higher rating, Jersey Mike's team needs to pay attention to the orders as people place them. For this order, my husband ordered two giant subs on the app. While there he had to wait quite some time to receive his order and before he left, he mentioned if they had made sure to remove the onions as requested. The response was "if that's how you ordered it then that's how you'll get it". Well that was wrong. Not only did we have onions, they didn't even make the correct sandwich that was on the receipt. A giant sub is almost $20. While I'm writing this, I'm ready to reduce down to two stars because I'm so frustrated about the Customer experience. Love this location for JM sandwiches. The young man at the meat slicer asked for my order. I asked if I could see the tuna. Sometimes it's too wet and I just needed to see what the consistency was. (I have sensory issues with texture) He was very friendly to oblige and it looked great. He got my sandwich going excellently. The young lady that was putting my sandwich together Was making sandwiches and taking cash and I only noticed after she made my sandwich and charged me for it that she went right back to making the next person sandwich so I turned around because the manager had been at a table in the back doing paperwork, but was now behind the counter, heading toward the register And I asked "isn't she supposed to change her gloves between taking cash and making sandwiches?" She said, "yes she is." I could trust by her response that it was going to be addressed going forward so I just left, but I'll have to be better at watching before my sandwich is made that the gloves are fresh. Jersey Mike's subs is a franchise sub food establishment. My hometown city of Louisville has gotten a few locations over the last decade or so. This particular location is off Shelbyville road on the Middletown portion of the city. I've heard good things about Jersey Mike's but I had yet to try them until this afternoon. Decent sized menu and with solid options. For me the pricing was really high. They have a small, regular or giant (foot long). The giants were all around $13 a sub so they are pretty pricey. I personally ordered the super sub and it was just ok. I've gotten Similar subs at competitors such as subway, penny station and firehouse subs. And if I'm being honest it's an easy 4th out of 4 on those places. Very bland. My daughters got a ham and one got an Italian. My wife for the tuna. None of them were impressed. The sandwiches were packed weird and made it hard to eat. Despite saying we were dining in they gave us it all in to go bags. Just not a great dining experience if I'm being honest. I don't mind paying too dollar for a good sub. Penn station charges similar but there subs are crushing these subs. Even subway had a better tasting sub based of This experience and what we ordered. Overall I'm pretty disappointed in this place. I had high hopes based off friends and others suggestions. Maybe we just got a bad location or made bad menu decisions? I stopped in here for my first time ever to have lunch at Jersey Mike's subs. I've been wanting to try this place for a few years now I just never got around to it today I made sure to go out and try it. And boy am I happy that I did. I got a regular club sandwich and head ham and turkey and jalapeños lettuce mayo and bacon on a rosemary bone and that Rosemary bun in bacon combination is where it's at. Really the best sub style sandwiches in town. It's worth it to drive over here and I can't really understand why there are not more locations. In other cities I have lived in there were many more around. What I like best is both the quality of meats and veggies but that you control everything. Unlike subway where everything somehow tastes about the same and the tasteless air bread seems like eating paper the ingredients are fresh at Mikes. You get to see them cut your meats right when you order the sandwiches. We tend to order the giant and split it for the best value. If you join the mailing list they send out great coupons for discounts and free add-on items on a regular basis too. They service here is fast even as they make it all fresh. There are also some hidden menu items. I like the 13 Italian style sub on wheat best, but you have to know about the right extras like having them grill the meat first to release the flavors of the meat. Adding the paper relish, the great pickles and banana peppers along with asking for Mike's way. It seems that all the portions are more genius than at most sub chains including the lettuce and tomato that some chains have gotten stingy with in recent years. I would eat here once a week or maybe more if one was closer to me. The only thing I would change is update the decor a little, newer shops in other cities are a little nicer looking. Oh and since they are somehow connected to the Baskin Robins next door save a little room for a treat for desert to go with that great sandwich. read more

I want to love Jersey Mikes. I really do. There are a lot of sub shops out there, and each chain has to do what they can to stand out. Let's be honest, there's only so much you can do with bread, lunch meat, veggies, cheese, and sauces. I like the Jersey theming of the chain, and the fact that they have some hot sandwich offerings. There's never been a problem with the food quality or accuracy. My issue is with Jersey Mike's is the staffing. Having visited a few Jersey Mike's around town I can't help but think that they could take staffing lessons from some other chains. I don't recall a visit to any location that didn't have at least 8 people on staff at any given time, and often more than that. It seems they're constantly overstaffed, sometimes to the point of actually running into each other, while this chaotic dance of disorganization results in food being made and delivered with no regard for service times. With a little organization and planning I'm sure they could do more with less. read more

I order from work because i cant go out for lunch. I ask for the sandwich to be cut into 3 pieces because its so big. I have to eat while I work. This big sandwich if i pick it up all the stuff fall onto me, I have to look professional not sloppy with a sandwich spilled all over me. So now I spent $25 to have a sandwich chips drink and cookie delivered that I cant eat. I'm at work , I don't carry kitchen knives to work to cut food I requested cut. Very good subs! I've had mixed experiences with Mike's throughout the country. They weren't very good in West Chester, OH but were amazing in Las Vegas Airport of all places. Well I'm happy to say that this location is one of the good ones. I had a regular turkey sub Mike's way and it was delicious! Fresh sliced turkey and provolone cheese, crisp lettuce and just right ripened tomatoes made my sub delicious. I also had a little mayo added along with the oil and vinegar which I really liked. Try it. I definitely recommend trying this Mike's location. It's very clean, the staff is friendly and the subs are delicious. It doesn't hurt that they're right next door to Baskin Robins Ice Cream either. I went there Friday and got an Italian. Not bad but not great. Service wasn't great. They made subs for people that had offered online or over the phone. I waited over 5 minutes and no one came to pick up one of the subs. Today I stopped in because I figured they might have been having a bad day. I bought a club. Maybe I should have been paying attention but there was no bacon. They left it off. My mistake for not making sure they make their subs correctly. That's my last visit. This is my favorite sub shop in Louisville. Like one of the other reviewers says I don't know what there aren't more locations around town but I have to assume if more people had been to Jersey Mike's there would be. They slice all of their meats and cheeses when you order your sub and put them directly on to your bread which I love because it doesn't get much fresher than that. They're also pretty generous with the meats and toppings which is great and they're always pretty fast as well which is nice. My favorite sub is the #11 Stickball Classic which has Ham, Salami, and provolone cheese. I get it dressed with lettuce, onion, extra pickles, mayo, salt and pepper. Yum! I always say I'm going to try it "Mikes Way" which has lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar (and maybe something else, sorry!) but I haven't yet. Next time! I'm also a fan of the #1 BLT because they cook their bacon fresh in house. It kills me how many sandwich places use that gross flimsy precooked packaged bacon. Bacon on a BLT needs to be crispy and they make it just right! My only wish is that there were a Jersey Mikes closer to home but until that happens I'll gladly drive to this one for their delicious subs! read more
