I used the online order and curbside pick up today before leaving work. Places the order and have time I'd be there . Order was perfect and food was to die for! I created my own grilled cheese with tomorrow , avocado, caramelized onions and herbed mayo. Oh dang did my tastebuds do a happy dance!! Love how it shows you that you can make the selection healthier by adding or substituting certain ingredients . Kids meal Mac and cheese was great quality . No scrimping on the kids food like you see at a lot of other places. All around great food. Ugh...such a let down at McAllister's. This was definitely a one and done for both my husband and I. At one point, I actually said to him, "It feels like I am eating at Jewel-Osco." The tuna salad sandwich was plain - it needed significantly more seasoning, crunchy, not limp, lettuce and another tomato. The sides were nothing to write home about, and the iced tea, which is apparently a specialty, was so lacking in flavor that I did not even bother finishing it. On the flip side, the service was really wonderful, especially considering this is a best casual dining spot. So we waited in the lunch line for 10 minutes, when we did finally get up to the counter, the cashier was polite and friendly. Our food came out quickly, and we were checked upon several times at the table by other staff members. I did appreciate that attention, although it was not necessary. However, the bottom line is that I have plenty of other fast-casual options in the area, including Panera, Portillo's, and even Chipotle. As such, I would not return to McAlister's. A good alternative to places like Subway, Jimmie John's, etc. I have tried the French dip sandwich, also tuna salad on a croissant, and grilled chicken on a croissant, also love their garden salad (you can add tuna, or chicken salad to it). Everything I've had from McAlister's has been fresh, and satisfying, not a "gutbuster" meal at all. Service is attentive, and very friendly. My husband and I have eaten here at least a dozen times and it's always good. Portions are large, we almost always take food home. I was a bit nervous stopping in here with some of the reviews, but my college love of McAlister's Deli down in Blormal would not stop me from giving it a try- and I was not disappointed. I took my order to go, but did not call in advance- so walked up to the counter and ordered like everyone else. I came around dinner time on a weekday, and there was only a short line. I had my food in hand only 10 minutes after I ordered, which I thought was reasonable. I had the McAlister's Club- which is a fairly typical sandwich- and it was delicious. I also liked the cole slaw and potato salad we had as sides. My husband had a spicy chicken hot sandwich- and he said his was good too (fairly typical deli fair). My favorite thing at McAlister's is the cheesecake- and I was so glad to see that this location had it on the menu. The serving is fairly large, so my hubby and I split a piece- it was just as delicious as I remembered from college years ago! My sandwich was also large enough that I had leftovers for lunch today- my husbands was not and he was able to finish his in one serving. We will definitely be back in the future- friendly staff, efficient, good food, great dessert- and decent price. I'd say give it a try- and if you are worried about it being new- wait a couple weeks and give it a try! read more

Oh gosh, I think I'm being generous here because I hope the kinks are going to be worked out. I'm calling this 3.5 stars, for now. Let's start positive...the Horseradish Roast Beef and cheddar was great. I subbed wheat bread and it was delish, great sauce. The broccoli cheddar soup was good. Heavy, but good, especially in cool weather. The McAlister's Club is really good too. The meat was sliced perfectly and piled high with crispy bacon. I wonder if I could add avocado to this sandwich, it would then be perfect. Also on the plus side, the very nice food runner offered me a cookie since my order got confused and took a long, long time. Okay, the not so good stuff...the wait for two pick two orders was oddly long. There were seven people at the front counter when I arrived and only one taking orders. Huh? One girl was standing at a register but said she didn't have a drawer yet...well, after five minutes of standing there, Go Get Your Manager! The other kids were maybe running food??? The order taker was making here own drinks while the others stood. Odd. Which brings up, why is the soda fountain behind the counter? Come on, that's so out of date and a waste of time. The franchise needs to fix that. Also, the to go containers are mostly styrofoam. Also, come on! It's 2015, your carbon footprint counts. One sandwich came with a pickle, shouldn't all of them? Anyway, the pickle sucked. I mean, it was really bad. I took one bite and tossed it. I would think a deli would have better pickles. My final complaint is that they have no system to remember who placed what to go order. No buzzer. No number. It's strange. Alright, it seems like my complaints are franchise issues and things that this location will work out with time and more training. That is a plus. Came in for lunch at work one day and was looking for a salad. The inside of the place was nicer than I thought it was going to be. They have a lot of things to choose from, mostly sandwiches but also salads and paninis. I ordered the southwest cobb with the chipotle peach dressing, it was ready in minutes and I was on my way. The southwest cobb has chicken, a roasted corn and poblano relish, tomatoes, cheddar jack, as well as tortilla chips over a romaine lettuce. Everything mixed together pretty well! It was flavorful, although I thought the dressing was a little on the sweet side and I may have used too much of it. Portion size was bigger than it looked and I'd say fair. The salad cost me just under $10, which I thought was a bargain considering how big it was, plus two what I would call premium ingredients, chicken and guacamole. I was curious about this place opening. I've had never heard of them and didn't know it was a chain from the south. First impression walking in. .it was busy, they had only been open about a week or so. They really looked like they were trying to be a more modern version of Papers Bread. There was modern music on the speakers, which Panera is more like a library. Pretty straight forward menu. I am still unaware that its a chain mind you. I liked the options on the baked potatoes and the pasta selections. After a pretty long in line I started to get that chain store feeling. Ok our turn at the register...I'm ready. I go for the Memphis..turkey, ham, roast beef and provolone on a wheat roll. I opt for the potato salad side and a bowl of chili. My wife goes for the Reuben sandwich and a cup of chicken dumpling soup quick is an extra $3.50. My son gets the four cheese grilled cheese with chips. The drinks are 32 oz and they get it for you, which adds to your time at the register. The offer free refills on the sweet tea, which I got but who's getting a refill after the 32 oz bucket of tea? You them take your drinks to a table if you can find one and wait for the servers to bring your food. We found a nice high top table in the front. Service was a bit slow and disjointed, but they are new and probably still working out the bugs. We kept getting a server asking us if we ordered the cup of extra mayo. We had no food on our table yet! The good finally was dropped off and looked good. The meat seemed to be a decent quality, you gEt a decent amount of meat on thevsandwiches (unlike Panera, where you have to search for the meat) the sandwichesv actually looked like the pictures! lthe bread wasn't artisan as Panera but good. Soft and fresh. Here's where the chain store feel comes into light. The soup. ..plain and very tasteless with huge noodles taking up most of the small cup. The chili...definitely bought in a huge can and warmed up. The quality and taste is more like you'd find in a hospital cafeteria. Certainly industrial grade. Disappointing. The chips my son as his side were plain Jay's chips. No options here. Just plain Jay's. At least at Subway you get a choice. The potato salad was the highlight! You get a nice size scoop, not to big, not to little. Great taste and texture. Don't get me wrong. . Sandwiches were good..almost very good but at $11.00 per person, I'm expecting very good. I decided to take the chili home so I had to go up and wait in the line and asked for a take home container for a bowl of chili. The young server said yes they have a container and then stared at me. After an awkward couple of seconds she asked if I wanted one. .yes I do, I replied. She turned to the people in the kitchen to get the bowl. The guy said ok do I want a lid. Yes I do I replied. A lot of work for just ok chili. Dont get me wrong, they do a nice job and things will get better as they are trained and open for a bit. Instant favorite! It's funny, we saw the coupons for this place for close to a year before finally giving it a whirl. Better late than never. I'm a sandwich kind of guy and gravitate towards clubs and subs the most, which they have an abundance. If not for the sandwiches I'd still have an easy time choosing from many of their panini's, soups, salads and other warm sandwiches. Each plate comes with a side of your choice and a pickle. My son has a craving for their BLT and we like their flavored lemonade's with free refills. Service here is with a smile and they come around to tables asking if you'd like a refill, and inquire if your meal is okay. We see coupons for McAlister's in the mail for $3 off a $10 order or two full meals for $14.99. You can't beat it. We hope McAlister's is here to stay because it's our new favorite fast food spot. This was one of the worst experiences i have ever had. second time there. First time the had just opened and learning. So I cut them some slack. Today, I go in with my kids. We order 4 items. One was a salad. All 3 non salad orders were wrong. I repeated my order 3 times to the cashier and he repeated the right order back. When I get home and look at the food it's all wrong. I call and the manager is rude. He says I'll give you a vip card. Why would I want that and to come back. You wait 15 minutes for your food at a deli. That in and of itself is wrong. By taking so long you would think the order would be right. These people are rude and dont care about your food or.orders. why be rudrto a customer when you messed up. Omg...So many great choices. I had the French dip, hubby had the Rueben and Mark had the Big Nasty. All were really yummy. The Big Nasty was huge, and the gravy was pretty tasty. Mark only could eat half. My side of Mac and cheese was really good. Usually restaurant Mac and cheese requires a bit of salt but this one was spot on. Had their famous sweet tea which was ok I guess for tea, Fernando thought it was really good. I never drink tea so not a good judge. Next time I will stick with my diet coke, my favorite. We really like it here. The place is very clean, orders are simple and the food comes out fast for both dine-in and to-go. The menu is large for a deli and they have tons of baked potatoes too...always yummy. I love the wildberry lemon-aid and you get HUGE cups for a drink with free refills. I had a great experience at this location, Mercedes was great! She took my order and was willing to help me save money with using multiple coupons. They sister store in Bloomingdale frowns upon the use of multiple coupons. I took the time to thank her for not giving me a hard time for using multiple coupons and her response, "This is why we have coupons." I was so happy she understood I'm a consumer just trying to save money, as McAlisters isn't the cheapest. The food is always fresh and taste absolutely wonderful and there are definitely no shortages on portions I always leave their full and satisfied that not only did I get my moneys worth but I also had something very tasty and the sweet teas in the lemonades are absolutely wonderful I can't say enough good things about this place, except I can no longer eat there due to the fact I'm on a very restricted diet due to my health but I do miss the wonderful sandwiches and the inviting atmosphere it all plays part into making your experience extra nice and the prices or actually very reasonable my wife and I had soup and sandwiches end it only cost $34 so I can only say keep up the good work thank you very much read more

I had a tuna salad which was average, broccoli cheddar soup that was very good, & unsweetened iced tea that I might drive out of my way to order. The staff was very friendly. Our dirty plates were removed from the table pretty quickly & we were asked if we needed refills on our tea. This was my first time trying McAlister's and it was pretty good. I ordered the New Orleans Muffuletta sandwich; it has ham, salami, an olive salad topped with provolone cheese. The flavor of the olives gave the sandwich a nice touch. However, the only negative to the sandwich was the thickness of the bread. I had to take off the top part of the bread since it was so filling. Overall, I am a fan of the sandwich and would come again. read more

I'm of course a fussy guy so I order my pastrami on rye cheese only heated. So when I saw it brought to my table with lettuce and tomato I said no biggie I;ll just remove but turns out it had mustard too eek!!!! They were good about correcting it but the OK comes from the portion being small compared to other pastrami I've had from other deli. As I completed my order on the app I received confirmation and as the time came close to pickup I received an email saying transmission with the store did not happen. So I went into the store & the manager was very short with me & never stopped walking around while talking to me and literally just walked off as I was still talking to him. For a place that says they aim to exceed your appetite, the meat portions are the smallest I've ever had at a deli. Roast beef was good. Baguette was not a baguette in any sense of the word. I have been waiting for this place to open for months now, this is a staple fast casual chain in the south where I attended college. The sandwich and salad menu is extensive. They do have a unique set of items in "spuds," meal sized baked potatoes with toppings. The potato salad and sweet tea are excellent. I drove in from DeKalb today to try out the new location. The place was very busy, and today being the 4th day the restaurant was open, service was a little slow but very friendly. It will probably take a few weeks for everyone to get in their groove. I was ordering take out, so I stood off to the side waiting for my order, and it was very obvious that the employees were double-checking all the orders. I'm only giving this one star because it won't let me give zero! We placed an order online today. When it was picked up, three of our soups were missing and on the receipt it said they were out of them. Yet they still charged us! When we went back to the counter they said no we don't have them, so we asked for them to be taken off of the bill. Once we asked that, they turned around and said "oh we have them!" No apology or anything. We get the order home and the veggie spud had no cheese on it, which it is normally supposed to come with. I called them, asked to speak to a manager, and they purposely hung up on me. Giving benefit of the doubt, I called back. Maybe they hit the wrong button. I again ask to speak to a manager and was told they would have to call me back because the TWO managers were busy. But of course I could drive the 20 minutes back to the restaurant to get help. How can a manager help me in store if they have no time to answer a complaint????? Then I was hung up on again!! I called back a third time and was told that the manager would have to call back when it was CONVENIENT FOR THEM! How can you be too busy to answer a phone call but the phone was answered three times?!? And what level of importance do you put on customer service and keeping customers?!? Not once did we receive an apology. I would not recommend going to this location EVER! They don't care about you or the food they are serving you. Please share this with everyone you know!
