I rarely leave bad reviews, but this McAlister's Deli location seriously needs improvement. The food itself was sort of bland and honestly not worth the extremely long wait times. It took almost 15 minutes just to place our order because the line was SO long, then another 30 minutes to finally get a table. After all that, we still had to wait around 20 more minutes for the food to actually come out. The staff didn't seem rude, just really exhausted and low-energy. The whole place felt stressful instead of welcoming, and there wasn't much pep or friendliness in the atmosphere at all. I think this place has lots of potential, and this might have just been busy workers during rush hour, but it really needs to be quicker, happier, and overall a more fun place to be. Right now, the experience just doesn't match the prices or the hype. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Anytime I'm in town, I ALWAYS stop in at least once everytime I pass through GJ. My go to is the Spicy Southwest Chicken sandwich, sometimes with a different choice of bread. I change up the soup or spud every other time I come in and usually satisfied with the choices. I've also tried the Jalapeño Turkey Crunch sandwich which is a close second to the Southwest. The service isn't always the best unfortunately, and as much as I love this place, that's what brings it down a star. But they do a good job of clearing off tables and keeping the whole place looking clean so I will give them that. Love this place and will definitely be returning the next time passing through. read more

So my boss went down to that restaurant and brought me back their potato actually it's two potatoes and it was huge. We both had the brisket one I believe with macaroni and a little bit of bacon on top but for the amount of money!!!! They give you like a tablespoon of meat. The food was ok. Our order included someone else's food with their name on it, missing one of our items, and a completely different item. We called ahead for pick up. We waited 30 minutes and then went to the deli. We waited another 45 minutes. It was clear that they could not produce the food in a reasonable timeframe with at least 30 people waiting. We decided not to even attempt to correct the order. The mistake correction would have taken too long. It might be an ok place to eat, but I recommend only doing so here when no one else is hungry and you make a single item order. read more

The food isn't half bad but the service is just awful. You never see any employees smiling and you can tell they all hate their jobs there. The Manager on Duty (Maria) was the worst and got angry at us that our order was wrong. Even after showing here the receipt, she didn't apologize and acted like we were wasting her time. Wanna buy a tea pass? Don't bother, the employees hate it when you try and use one and can never figure out how to scan that into their system. I'll never order from here again! I had a delivery order it was a salad and tea. Well I got my salad but not my tea. The Uber driver said the tea was not on the order although I was charged for it. So I called and talked to a employee and at first she seemed to indicate it was between me a Uber then I ask to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. That's when I told her I would contact my credit card company and tell them to stop payment. Then she said hold on a minute let talk to my manager. Now keep in mind she had already said she was the manager. Anyway very bad service here they don't care about the customer. Uber however did credit me for my tea right away. To me Uber has great service. But this deli did nothing to fix the situation. read more

Another great turn out! Their sandwich was tasty, filling and fresh. The bread was soft and the meat tender. Their side salad of cucumbers and tomatoes is not swimming in dressing. A minor improvement could be to offer an option online to cut out some of the inside bread. This has been a really popular trend lately. Even chain restaurants offer this service. Food is ok. If you're looking for a real Italian, it's not at Mcallisters. Leaf lettuce and thick sliced tomatoes don't belong on a true Italian sub. Food was ok. The biggest problem is the restaurant in Grand Junction does not accommodate person in electric wheelchairs! I was trying to get to a table and wound dragging a chair from another table with me to the table. my friends got me untangled from that, then as I was trying to get pulled into our table, my chair caught another chair from yet a different table and it fell over, hitting the floor and making a loud noice. Once again, my friends had to get me untangled. The aisles are too narrow. trying to get to bathroom was another nightmare. The bathroom accommodates 2 people standing upright. Every time for the last three times at least our order is missing at least one item or has missing pickles or avocado from BLT+avo sandwich. When you call to ask for a refund for missing items, they claim to refund your card, but it never happens. When you order through curb side, you have to work as a customer to get their attention, and that's if you're lucky. Normally they wait for the customer to walk inside. Absolutely horrible customer service; consistently. Lady named Charlie had the worst response for a customer having to wait almost an hour for a curbside order, only to have to walk inside to get it. If you're lucky and your order is correct, the food is amazing. But honestly it's not worth the trouble. We won't be back. PS, if you order through DoorDash, I kid you not, your order will never be incorrect or late. The fact that they play favorites is absolutely the games these employees play with their customers. On our way to Denver, we were told about this place and decided to stop for lunch. It was pretty busy being a Saturday afternoon, but we were serviced quickly and the server was very attentive. To me, the salads weren't anything special and had a little too much dressing but my turkey sandwich and Parmesan turkey sausage kale soup was excellent.
