Hadn't heard of this chain until our recent stop in while on a mini road trip! Looked like they have a solid menu with everything from sammies, salads, and soups to shareables, spuds (aka loaded potatoes, and desserts. We were just after some sandwiches so we grabbed on of the Garden Fresh Turkey as well as the BLT + Avocado. I was a fan of the turkey as it was plentiful, with cados, spinach, tomato, Swiss and olive oil & balsamic. My husband thought the BLT was A-ok, just a little on the dry side. The storefront itself was clean and welcoming - always what we love to see at a 'fast food' joint. I'd return here to try other items in the future. read more

I can see the future! But first, let me explain the past. In the past, I loved the Jason's Deli chain. Loved Jason's Deli. But the one near us closed and I started seeing fewer of them and more McAlisters. So, when we drove through Lake Delton / Wisconsin Dells on our way back to Minneapolis from Chicago we thought that we'd try McAlisters. We hoped it would fast and hey, at least comparable to Jason's since they seem to be doing so well at the expense of Jason's. We went and OMG. It was like walking into an SNL sketch about ineptitude. Yes we walked in 20 mins before closing but it was clear that it wasn't just bread that was baked there. I asked for one 12-inch sandwich to be cut into thirds, which was a mistake. It took so long for the lady at the checkout to understand the request. She was silent and staring and slowly and slothily blinking for what seemed like 10 straight minutes before she just walked away. Everyone looked at each other. What just happened? Where did she go? Was the pressure too much so she quit? Eventually she came back and said it could be done. But a simple order took 10 minutes to get squared away. My son ordered sweet tea but got unsweetened tea. I suggested that he just deal with it or add sugar himself but he brought it up and the lady again could barely understand what he was saying and then went to the ice tea dispenser, stared at it for a freaky long time... and then just poured him another unsweetened tea. At that point he just dealt with it. What may have made things worse was that there was no music there. So all of this slow motion ineptitude was just happening in silence. I wanted to run away. Eventually our 12-inch sandwich, cut into thirds, arrived as a 6-inch sandwich, cut into weird small end pieces and one big middle piece. Just overall a weirdly unpleasant experience. We've made fun of it for days. So, I can see the future. This place was almost empty and closes early - probably because they don't have enough customers. My guess is the owners don't even live in town or have made so much money through PPP loans that they don't care. Maybe it's a tax write off. But, if severe staffing corrections aren't made, it will close. There is a McAlister's-less future for Lake Delton. But hopefully it will be replaced by a Jason's Deli. read more

Wow this place is good! We happened upon it just looking for quick carryout to take back to our hotel and this was a great find! There were so many things we wanted to try on the menu that it was hard to narrow it down, but we went with the King Club and Spicy southwest chicken and we were not disappointed! They were both really good! I am only sad that I do not live in the area so I am unable to make this my regular to-go sandwich shop. read more

We came in here. ordered our food. The meat in the sandwich was not thoroughly cooked. I brought the sandwich up and asked for something different. The manager then started arguing with me. saying the meat is cooked and she refused to make me something else. I showed them the pink, bloody meat. She still argued and again refused to just make me something else. So I told her to refund the meal then. She was visibly angry and said she's going to refund. She left then came back and threw the receipt at me. Absolutely awful customer service. I've never experienced someone being so awful like that. read more

This place has wonderful food. Good size portions for the price. It takes a little longer for the food to come out but it's worth the wait. The reason I gave it one star was the service. The lady who took my order could neither speak or comprehend English well. I had to repeat my order twice and it still came out wrong. I'm going to give it a few months before I come back. This used to be a 5 star for me and my wife. This was our favorite place to eat, food is always amazing and customer service was always top-tier. I'm not sure what happened but the customer service is terrible now, the girl that took our order acted like she hated her life and wanted nothing to do with us, we sit down and immediately see/hear her laughing and giggling with co-workers. And the guy who brought us our food to our table we couldn't even hear him or understand him at all because he was mumbling and was also acting like he hated his life. Then he goes back behind the counter and we can hear him loud and clear laughing and giggling with co-workers as well. Where was all that energy when communicating with your customers? And the food was not as good as it used to be, my hot sandwich had cold spots, the pickles tasted like they've been sitting out all day making them warm and dry. I received a coupon for this new deli, and I don't live all that far from it..I stopped there this afternoon to grab one of their menus, just to see what they had to offer and their price range. I left the deli and ending up going back in to place an order at my husbands suggestion. Mind you I had just had lunch about one hour before I stopped there, so I was looking for a cold sandwich for supper. I spotted the Italian, read all the ingredients including the spring mix on top, looked at the picture and looked like a really good sub. I ordered the Italian, paid for it and went home. I took the sandwich out of the bag, opened the box only to find a hot sandwich with the ham grilled, and the spring mix salad was all wilted. In the description of the Italian it does not state that the meat is grilled or that its a hot sandwich. I don't like grilled ham! They might want to start asking their customers if they want a hot or cold sub read more
