Horrible customer service. Reviews are definitely right. I love Mcalisters and I have been here before nothing bad but this time it's horrible. There are tons of dirty tables no where to sit, the sweet tea is out and there is soda all over the floor. Good has been wrong for multiple people and it's sad. There is a sign outside now hiring so I get being understaffed but there is no need to rude, and have a shit storm for a restaurant. Definitely won't be coming to this location. Good food and decent prices! The first time I went to this establishment they messed up my order and I ended up waiting 20 minutes to end up ordering something completely different. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This last time I tried the order ahead and called about 20 min ahead so I didn't have to wait again :) Food is delish even through take out, would recommend anyone to try their spuds. The chicken salad is pretty bland but everything else seems to work out. This is at a great location and is very family friendly. I will be ordering again in the future! read more

Had a line out the door with one register open on a Saturday night. Several customers walked away after waiting 15+ minutes. I would have done the same but it was so close to our movie start time that I couldn't risk finding another restaurant since this one was so close. If I could give this zero stars then I would without hesitation. I have been a consistent customer to this McAlisters location for at least the past 2 years. On Friday I placed my usual online order, a grilled chicken sandwich on a wheat wrap, however I received the wrong sandwich. It was made on the wrong bread, did not have the customizations that I requested, and was not even made like the regular grilled chicken sandwich. I called to speak with the manager, which was nice, and she told me that I could come back to pick up the correct sandwich. I explained that I could not come back at that time (since I was on a quick lunch break) and she told me as long as I keep my receipt then I could come another day to get my correct order. Fast forward to now (Wednesday- just a few days later). I place the exact same order and explain to a different manager about the situation. He says he checked my order to make sure that it was made right this time then hands it to me and I go on my merry way. I go to eat my sandwich and when I take a bite I discover some white mayo like sauce on it (which was not supposed to be there). At this point I'm fuming that my remade order is wrong. I politely call the manger and inform him of the mistake. He is not rude but he certainly wasn't accommodating. He did not offer to give me a refund for my original order or even offer a new sandwich be made. He just said sorry. I am so disappointed in the products I received and will no longer be doing business with any McAlisters. The food is usually decent but when your order has been made wrong twice in the same week and the situation wasn't rectified, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth (literally)! I absolutely do not recommend this McAlisters location!!!! read more

What a great lunch! The sandwich, soup, and cookies were all wonderful but what really warrants this 5 star review is the EXCEPTIONAL service we received from Sandra P. She was so cordial and warm! Visited this evening at around 730 pm. There was a line of about 10-15 people in front of me. The place was about half full. There were a lot of dirty tables that weren't being cleaned. There was only 1 person working the cash register and taking orders. There seemed to be a lot of staff behind the register and kitchen staff just standing around doing more socializing than actual work. The line moved really slow. While waiting for my food, I observed 1 employee who was moving at a snail's pace cleaning a table. She would take a plate or 2 off the table and walk the dishes back, but wouldn't even use both hands which really bothered me. I've worked in a restaurant before and when cleaning tables you remove as many dishes as you can with both hands. It took her 4 trips to clean 1 table! And then she didn't even finish cleaning that 1 table. She disappeared after that. I guess she needed a break. The table next to us had food and dirty napkins on the floor, and I watched her walk by the trash several times and never picked it up. A lot of the tables stayed dirty during the whole duration of my stay. The place is employed with mostly teenagers. Never once did I see anyone who looked like a manager. With it being somewhat busy, none of the employees moved with any sense of urgency. I ordered the French dip sandwich which is supposed to be hot. It was room temperature and wasn't that great in flavor either. The only thing I really enjoyed was the sweet tea. Everything else was mediocre. I wouldn't return to this place. We went to McAlister's for the 2nd time tonight. The first time we absolutely loved it! Great service and great food. This time was a nightmare. When we walked in there was only 2 people in front of us. One at the register and one in line. We waited for over 15 minutes to order. The line kept growing and got close to the door. Finally another register was opened and the guy in front of us went to order. After he left we moved up to that register to order. We stood there and stood there and the employee that took the other guys order just kept walking past us. Not saying a word or even looking our direction. Then finally another gentleman came and opened another register and asked for the next customer in line. The lady behind us then goes over there and orders. Mind you we were in front of her and were still waiting to order. After she finished the other cashier called for again the next customer in line. We started to walk over, but were cut off by another customer that was waiting in line behind us. Not once did anyone acknowledge we were standing there. We felt invisible. My husband tried to say something to them, but again we were ignored. We ended up just walking out. As we turned around to leave the cashiers just gave us blank stares. We ended up just going to Firehouse Subs at the Forum and had great food and service. Will not be going back to this place! read more

McAlisters as a whole is a great restaurant chain with great food. However, I will never go back to the one on Pat Booker. The employees are rude, do not know their menu, and ALWAYS mess up your order somehow. I would strongly suggest finding a different McAlisters to go to. read more

I am putting three stars, not because the food was good but because the young ladies I talked to while I waited for my food made my trip less terrible. There was a brunette girl with curly long hair in her ponytail who continued to try to make my wait time slip by and another one who seemed to be friends with the girl. she had blonde hair in a bun and they both had hoops on, i didn't get their names but they are one of the only things that made my trip worth the drive. they continued to joke and laugh and even gave us a cookie for the wait. my daughter kept laughing at their jokes so the long wait felt less dragged on. my food wasn't great. the sandwiches were falling apart and my daughters kids mac and cheese was cold and i think it was one of the managers who came up and was dismissive and unsympathetic for my time wasted. overall i don't think i will go back but i do think the employees there that were kind and helped me out should be recognized. thank you. read more

Probably the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant ever. My girlfriends order was incorrect the first try. She took it back and explained that it was not what she had ordered, and the plate was given to the kitchen to correct it. When the plate made it back to our table, we received the same sandwich back, just on a croissant instead of regular bread. I took it up to the counter a second time and had to tell the kitchen to remake the entire order. When the plate came back, there was no pickle on the plate (even though it was on the first plate and comes with every sandwich). When I went back up and asked for the pickle slice, the kitchen staff seemed annoyed and handed me an entire plate of pickle slices rather than just the one I asked for. After all of this, I went up a few minutes later for two sweet tea refills and was given back unsweet tea in both cups. This staff managed to get EVERY SINGLE part of my order wrong, down to the refill. I won't be coming back ever, and I'd appreciate if a manager would reach out so that I know this is being seen. read more

I live right down the road from here and used to go all the time. The most recent times I have gone I have been very displeased. I ordered pick up and picked it up from the drive, which was a terrible experience but I'm not even going to get into that. When I got home my bread had mold all over it so I called the store to get an explanation and the manager promised to refund the transaction back onto my card and to put me on a VIP list for the store for a free meal during my next visit. Over a week goes by and no refund in my bank so I call the store once again and they act like they have no idea whats going on and want me to drive to the store a week later with the receipt. If you are wanting good food or service this is not the place to go. I'm so disappointed in how much of a downhill this store has gone into. Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.-- we walk in to McCalisters and are hit with wet, dirty stench. There were maybe four tables that were occupied by patrons. This place was disgustingly dirty, there were atleast five tables full of dirty dishes, trash all over the floor, and a horrible, dirty smell. After I took pictures, an employee started clearing dishes off tables but not washing tables. It seems like all the employees but one (cashier) were in the kitchen talking. My wife use to be a frequent customer in another city, Thought we would try this one in Live Oak Texas. OMG. The place was filthy, service was extremely slow, not presentable with filthy long hair on male person, and food did not come like other McAlister's. Waited 32 min to order in a restaurant that had only four people in front of me. The tables were all very dirty and not cleared at all. Had to ask. Waited hour and 15 min for our food to arrive after ordering. I ordered Italian sandwich, which was not premium at all. There was one slice of ham and one of salami on this roll. Most of bread had nothing on it. My wife's came wrong the first time. Showed person the receipt. Waited another 39 min for them to bring the pick two salad and soup, No dressing, tortillas for soup, silverware, crackers, pickle, side or nothing. Had to get up to ask for this in addition to previous encounter of food being wrong. Asked cashier question about pick two and salad dressing if it was sweet, She had no clue the answer for either, She turned around to ask this so called manager who was just as clueless as she was. read more

I love McAlisters food but this restaurant has to be the worst one in San Antonio. This is our second and last visit. First time we came in, i had to argue with the order taker that they actually did have sides of gravy that you could add to baked potato. This time I ordered baked potato with gravy pointing it out on the menu went to order second part of choose two when I was told oh sorry we don't have potatoes?????? So I change my order and order taker charges me more for soup. I said I thought soup was part of choose two. She said oh I didn't know u wanted that. Huh. Then someone came in from outside to ask how long her order would be. They didn't tell her they had no potatoes and she had been waiting about 15 minutes for it. ordered the McAlister club wrap and a cheese spud..the wrap was missing toppings and had hardly any chicken in it..i literally took one bite and had nothing but lettuce in my mouth..it was lazily wrapped also..spud was over cooked...This place is not worth the price.... read more
