I grabbed a kid's meal with five mini pretzel dogs, chips, a drink and a cookie for $7, honestly, such a great deal. My boyfriend got the Reuben with mac and cheese and a sweet tea that was really good. I tried the pineapple upside down lemonade and it was super refreshing. We visited the McAllister's by the theaters near our home. Steady customers coming and going. We can order online and pick up or we can order at the counter. I chose a Pick Two with half a spud and a cup of chili. Both were absolutely delicious and very hot. I love that they have chili without beans. I love that when you order sandwiches, they have numerous sides you can choose from. I love that they bring the food to your table. I love that they will offer refills at the table. I love that I can leave the dirty dishes on the table with a nice tip and they take care of that. As a soup and sandwich café, McAllister's is definitely my first choice. read more

McAlister's is one of those restaurants that's one our weekly Sunday Lunch rotation. The food is always good, the service is always pleasant, and we've never had a problem. The McAlister's menu is extensive, with salads, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and spuds. Yes, baked potato entrees. VERY COOL and unique! I can personally recommend the Spud Ole if you're looking for a starchy Mexican stomach filler. My current favorite sandwich is the Turkey Jalapeño Crunch. Seriously. It's got turkey, bacon, avocado, potato chips, and comes on a VERY tasty Jalapeño bun. Yes, that said potato chips (hence the "crunch" part) and it was AMAZINGLY good. Since she wasn't feeling well my wife had the Chicken Tortilla soup. Delivery times were very reasonable, and our food was brought out on real plates, not paper or plastic. And a metal fork. You don't realize how many times you eat with paper and plastic until you're given the real stuff. The staff was very pleasant and kept busy. The restaurant was kept clean, and tables were cleaned almost immediately after they were emptied. The staff also refills your iced tea frequently (and their iced tea is awesome). Incidentally, when you order an Iced Tea at McAlister's, be prepared. It's not so much a cup as it is a tankard. And I'm not kidding. Try it the next time you're there. read more

McAllister's Deli offers a pick 2 combo for sandwiches, salads or spuds. Their options are already named and created, but you can take/add items to make it customized for your taste. I like the Savannah salad with grilled chicken but with their balsamic and olive oil dressing, and a spud having cheese, bacon and sour cream only. By taking away items for a spud that would've come with more, I didn't have to order a plain version and then be up charged for toppings. Make sure to add a sweet tea and chocolate chip cookie, some of the best in town. Online ordering is easy. We dropped by for curbside and they walked it out to us before we'd even dialed them. I saw others walking in to grab their orders. Delivery is also available. read more

Man. What a major bummer it was choosing the French dip (we wanted to try something new). It was salty, chewy, and the dipping sauce tasted like it was left over onion soup. I was thinking it would be completely different and not just a deli sandwich that u dip in French onion soup. It was so salty my tongue hurt the rest of the night, and terrible indigestion. The pickle was better than the sandwich itself. They weren't really enforcing the masks, as a customer was at the counter with no mask on but they were social distancing. Teenagers.* The kids have their own menu and eat free every night! My 9 yo loves herself a cheesey baked potato and says "they have THE BESTEST". I tend to agree, and it is FREE?! For 2 weekends in a row there is poor organization. Today the line is out the door and there is only one person taking orders, however there are 5 other people just standing around behind the counter and at least 5 other people just standing around in the kitchen area. There are at least 5 types of meats that are out of stock, but they don't tell you until you get to the register which delayed the order process even longer. Should have just left, but I ordered only a soup instead. It was good, but it wasn't enough to satisfy my lunch craving, I will try a different location the next time. One of my family's favorite places to eat. The tea is always good, the portions are perfect for the price, and the food is very good. I have yet to have a bad sandwich here, and I've been coming here for years. The soups and spuds are good as well, and the salads are nicely sized. I would give them less but I have to give a star. From coming in to leaving you can tell the people working there are unhappy. The lady taking our order was less than thrilled to take any orders. She never smiled or acted like she was there to do a job. When I was waiting and watching as all kinds of delivery people were waiting you could tell the staff in the back were not happy. At one time I counted 12 delivery people waiting and all complaining about the wait. The manager helped with bagging the delivery orders at some point because he said it's a bad look. They do have good food, but I'm very disappointed that the owner of this store refuses to offer gluten free bread, when corporate leaves it up to franchise owners. Without that option, those of us with gluten sensitivities are left to ordering salads without croutons, salad dressings that we hope are gluten free and baked potatoes. There is money to be made in offering gluten free bread options. All the owner would have to do is dedicate some uncontaminated (cleaned) storage space, train the workers to wear gloves when preparing the sandwiches and teach them about cross-contamination. I LOVE McAlister's!!! Good food at reasonable prices and (having grown up in South Carolina) quite possibly the best sweet tea in the area. I stop here every week on my way home from grocery shopping. I've tried just about everything on the menu, but the French Dip is my sandwich of choice.
