I can't say that I've always had the best experience at Panera. I can remember being pregnant and crying when the Gorgonzola was left off my salad. I've had some small chicken servings on my chicken salad. I've had my food delivered and smell so strongly of cigarettes, I could barely stomach it. But tonight, Panera for the win! He seemed genuinely happy to help. He said he looked forward to seeing us soon. So, I took a leap of faith. I got online and I placed an order for 2 you pick 2s. One was with broccoli cheddar soup and the new pesto caprese sandwich and the other for the broccoli cheddar soup and the green goddess chicken salad with feta added. We were surprised by the size of the sandwich. My husband and I split the sandwich and the salad. Both were delicious. The soup is always good. I'm pretty sure Panera stays in business based on broccoli cheddar soup alone. Long story short, this was a solid amount of food for cheap on night everyone else shut down early. There are days I just fly out of the house to get to my part time job. And if I failed to prepare lunch-or even have time for breakfast, Panera comes to the rescue. Honestly, I don't think their breakfast sandwiches are anything special, but they are a healthier alternative to an Egg McMuffin with the hash-browns I don't have the willpower to resist. Besides, their ciabatta bread sure beats an English muffin. This time, I skipped the sandwich and went with a "pick your two". I went with a cup of chicken noodle soup and half Asian Chicken salad. Soup for breakfast. Salad for lunch. I was pleased the soup wasn't overly salted. The broth, noodles & chicken weren't up to my wife's standards, but still, very good. The salad was also good, although I'd like to compare a half salad to a full order. Crisp lettuce. Too many fried wonton crisps. And chicken that was a tad rubbery. Dressing on the side, when applied, hid that minor fault. I ordered and paid via their app. I received notice my order was ready for pickup and to find it on the rack. Panera is a brand that has definitely adapted to these COVID times, and I am so thankful for it. Their app is key. It is very user friendly, and you can order to pick-up in-store or curbside, which my family recently did. We've also used the app for several locations inside and outside of Panera -- Panera is definitely a family fave -- and the service and quality of food have been consistent. My recent go-to has been the "pick 2" with the Fuji apple salad and Modern Caprese sandwich. I'm not huge on salads, but this is definitely one of the best. I love the crunch of the apples with the sweetness in the salad. And the sandwich is comfort with the cheese and tomato. I also usually get two meals out of this, saving the salad and accompanying baguette for a later snack or lunch. And if you want to splurge, I definitely recommend the Kitchen Sink cookie or cinnamon scone. You can't really go wrong with Panera. read more

Had lunch with a friend. We arrived at noon and ordered at the counter. Service was quick and the girl at the counter was friendly. My friend had the apple salad and had to ask for more dressing which she says is always the case but liked her salad. I ordered the pick 2, half of a roasted turkey avocado BLT and a cup of autumn squash soup. Soup was hot, great flavor, creamy and filling. This visit was no different. My only bit of constructive feedback during this visit was the state of the booth we sat in and beverage area. This is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat that's not fast food. Lots of options to choose from. The pick the choose two option so I can try several things or mix it up. We came on a Tuesday night, only had to wait a minute or two to order our food. It was $30 for three of us to eat, including our 7 year old. They give you a pager and now you don't have to wait for it buzz and you come up to counter to grab your food. They bring to your table! That's a nice change. I was in the mood for warm soup today. I was cold and my belly wasn't feeling great so I thought some bland french onion soup would suffice. I looked at the menu online and it looked great. So, I went to the drive through and spotted the butternut squash ravioli so opted for the pick two menu with that and the onion soup. When I opened them up I couldn't believe I spent $9.31 on this. I've been to a few of the Panera stores and this one seems to be smaller than the other locations. It may be the same size, but they seem to have the tables closer together. So it feels smaller. There don't seem to be as many plugs in this one as there are any others and maybe that's because it's not near an area where there's a lot of corporate office around them or something, but it just seems like there's not as many power outlets. I typed up a review a while back about the Panera in the Highlands. That review is mainly about the coveted Asiago bagel. I won't rave about that bagel again in this review. The food is like every other Panera. That bagel and the Highlands location gives it every star they received. For this review, I'm going to comment on the store and service. This Panera is perfect for me when I need a bagel on the way to work. It has a drive-thru and if you visit early enough... you're through the drive-thru line in a jiffy! I have to stick with an average three stars because there are many chains that can't get everything right. I think Panera needs to work on their coffee. I always order my coffee black and if you can't make a good cup of coffee that doesn't need cream and sugar... then you're not getting perfect marks from me. That's not to say that it's not drinkable because I can power through anything. The coffee here is just good enough. I don't understand why they chose to put most of the seating facing inward from the road and the drive-thru next to Poplar Level. It seems like a missed opportunity to people watch the traffic had they constructed this restaurant differently. If you need a quick snack during your day, I'll recommend the Asiago bagel with Honey Walnut cream cheese any day of the week! read more

Once you've seen one Panera, you've seen 'em all. But a few things that stand out about this one... Parking is plentiful. But if that's not your cup o' tea you can use the drive through. Quick and easy. Actually that's the about it. Bagels and coffee are pretty much par for the course. Both best served fresh. I ordered the large Greek with chicken and a an apple. I sat down and waited for my food. I noticed this woman with a fruit cup. I went to the team lead to ask for the fruit cup instead of an apple. Rudely, he said that can't be done because it was going to be an extra charge. Not that he directed me to the cashier to cover the cost....he simply said no. Lastly, when I went to recover my food and turn in my timer, the same team lead took the timer and threw it across my face into the basket barely missing my face. My bestie and I actually got to head out for lunch and decided to try Panera's new flatbread pizzas. We both love Panera but I was disappointed with the new flatbread pizza. I ordered just the plain cheese and didn't care for the flavor of the cheese or maybe the sauce. It actually reminded me of the pizza in a box by Chef Boyardee. The menu board was easy to decipher, placed my order for the Bacon Turkey Bravo; Sandwich - half sandwich Smoked turkey breast, applewood-smoked bacon, smoked Gouda cheese, lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes and their signature sauce on Tomato Basil Bread. This location is very clean and we are always asked how our food is and if there is anything we need from the staff. COVID Carry-Out Panera...Armed with a gift card and my daughter's soon to be expiring free sandwich, we decided to do an online lunch order. Panera has one of the better online platforms for placing an order. Selections are easy as well as custom tailoring an order. I have used it many times on Tuesdays for the really good bagel deal. For our virus times Panera will bring out your order to your car. You plug in your vehicle description so Panera knows where to bring the food. We placed an order for a Cuban sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich and potato soup. I made the short drive over to the Poplar Level location. Usually a rather busy place, not so much now. I pulled up right to the curb. Two other folks were already present. I wasn't there a minute, when the Panera rep walked out with the order. Impressive. Second time I have had the Cuban. The bread is the winner, a crusty loaf with the pork, melted cheese and pickles with mustard. I probably should have did a halfer, but what a great sandwich. My fellow diners were also satisfied with the ham sandwich and the potato soup. Panera also has some great apparatus for holding a soup bowl in a bag. A cardboard holder that keeps the soup from dumping over. Cool. Not sure if the menu has been cranked down due to COVID issues, but quite a few sandwiches were not available.
