I pulled up to the drive through window to place an order. They stated that I had to park and go inside and place an order. The staff was friendly and efficient; however, I ordered the chili and that's where the disappointment began. I was asked if I wanted cheese on top and no mention was made off an extra charge. I missed when I paid as my friends had arrived and that's on me. I could deal with that but there was literally one tablespoon of grated cheese on the dish. Definitely not worth the $1.89 charged! Ordered a spicy turkey melt with chips plus Mac and cheese. They brought out the Mac and cheese, cup wasn't even halfway full, and it was extremely watery with not many macaronis in it. I asked them to remake it please cause I paid extra for the side of Mac. Came back 2 minutes later, they drained the water out of it and microwaved it to where it was extremely hot to the point to it being burned and dry. I could taste the burned and dryness in it. Wasn't too happy with it. I've been to a lot of McAllisters and most are pretty good, but this location I don't think they care as much about the quality of the food that they serve. Not tryna be a complainer, but I just didn't appreciate it being from one extreme to another. We love McAlister's - good food, fast service, great variety on the menu. Most importantly, the sandwiches are quite generous on the main ingredients - the meat! The only limitations/issues we have experienced are: 1) The online ordering is very restrictive - you can remove items (no price change), and you can add items (increased price), but you cannot SUBSTITUTE anything. Example: If you order the Four Cheese Melt, but want to substitute Cheddar for American cheese, you will be charged extra for Cheddar but receive no credit for the lack of American. The only way to order a sandwich with substitutions w/o extra charge is to call and order manually. 2) The "Choose Two" option is a bit of a rip-off. If you order one sandwich, you get a basic side included, but if you order the "Choose Two" you pay a little more and do not get a side. 3) The sides appear to be "Included," but pay close attention since several have an additional charge. I would encourage McAlister's to remedy these shortcomings for a 5 star review! read more

Very clean and attentive customer service workers. The pink lemonade is a must! Food came out in a timely manner. And very well cooked. The only downfall was. The screens were a little glitched and messed up but the menus were at the registers and the clerk was helpful with my questions . read more

I am always stopping at this location when I drive thru New Braunfels because of the drive thru window! It's one of the only few location that has a drive thru window! I'm giving my review a 4 stars because they always forget to add the pickle in the Togo bag or the middle of sandwich is still cold. I'm a huge fan of their garden fresh Turkey and strawberry lemonade! The baked potato's are always fresh and loved the potato soup. My favorite go to side is the Mac and cheese. The chocolate chip cookies are yummy too! There are lots of great choices to choose from and sign up for the rewards program to get points! Don't forget to check you for your pickle! read more

Great tortilla soup. Any club sandwich from there is good. A joyful meal I recommend to anyone.

The quality in food has gone way down lately. I got a choose 2 with a French dip and potato soup to go. Potato soup was decent. The French dip was horrible. The roast beef was so overdone along with the baguette. The only thing good was the au jus sauce to dip it in. Couldn't finish it and will not be coming back again. read more

I really like the Savannah Chopped Salad. It has generous amounts of almonds, blue cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, dried cranberries and chicken. (Though it's really not a chopped salad). I also tried the chili (which was bean free). It was good, but could have used some toppings (onion, cheese). I love that they have Diet Dr Pepper and are nice enough to come around to offer refills. It's good to see they are fully staffed again. read more

This is our 2nd attempt coming here. The first time, service was unbelievably slow. It's been a year and probably our last time here. We got here shortly after 11am and served our food at 11:45. And for a sandwich. We watched people come in and stand in line for 20 minutes and watched them walk out without ordering. You can't come here during your lunch hour as it takes way too long. They are VERY short staffed! read more

We were the only ones inside, the four young kids were hanging out back laughing. Picked up food around 8pm, this may have contributed to the poor service and food even though they're open until 10pm. Employee behind the counter was extremely rude. We ordered a French Dip and a Rueben Sandwich. Both sandwiches tasted like old meat that had sat under a heat lamp. The Rueben's corned beef wasn't even red in color, it was brown and had a lot of fat. This lead us to believe they used roast beef to make a Rueben instead of corned beef. It smelled like it to but we didn't take another bite in fear of getting sick. We visited this same location a few years ago and it was outstanding. What the hell is going on with this location? First of all, you order with the rude employees, and they tell you there's no ice AFTER you've already ordered. Try to get a refund on your drinks, and they're rude about it. Talked to the manager and he says the ice machine has been out for a MONTH! Then, to top it all off, it takes 40 minutes for a simple to-go order, and they don't even get it right. Had to talk to the rude employees AGAIN to get it fixed. Seriously, you already charge so much for simple deli food, can't you get a new ice machine? Can you not send somebody to the h-e-b across the street to get ice? Surely you could at least get some employees that DON'T act like stereotypical bitchy teenagers. Menus felt so grimy and were filthy after shuffling through a few to find a somewhat clean one I brought it to staffs attention and they remarked it's busy and we don't clean them until the end of the day. Very slow the food was good but had to wait a long time. The bathroom wasn't very pretty and the faucet was spiting hard.

This was a pickup order. The soup was the usual tortilla soup. The half of chicken salad sandwich tasted ok but the way it was served was a huge surprise. The sandwich was wrapped in a brown wrapper and squashed. It didn't look like a sandwich. It soup was served alone but usually the sandwich and the soup are served together in a to-go carton. If this is the way they are serving now it needs to be for cost cutting otherwise not acceptable. read more

We are HUGE McAlisters fans and go at least once per week. This has been our favorite location for a couple of years. They always go above and beyond for us. But the last few months have been rough. The wait time for our food has grown outrageous, the tables and floor are always a mess, and the AC must be on its last leg. The staff are still very friendly but the management must have changed. We are hoping corporate will come in and retrain and hire more people. read more

I'm surprised they have not been exposed by former employees by now, but it may be the reason they parted ways. Updating from my last review: Service still sucks, order is wrong 50% of the time and wait time is minimum 15 minutes for anything you order. Came tonight and ordered 2 sandwiches with chips, 17 minutes later (we ordered at 4:53 so not a busy time) we get our sandwiches and Mac and cheese so we have to ask for chips...no one ever comes by for refills like they do at every other McAlister's and girls behind the counter aren't very friendly. Stopped by here for a quick bite, but it was anything but quick. The service was really slow. There was one person taking orders, one person cleaning tables and the restaurant and one person cooking. We order from here a lot as it's close to home. Food is good. Service speed varies. They have an outdoor drive through lane for order pick up. There is no indoor pickup counter; you must wait in line to pick up orders indoors. They need a pickup shelf like Panera has to avoid waiting in line. If they would do that I would change rating to 5 stars. read more

I haven't been to McAlister's in a long time. I had the Savanah Salad, which can easily be shared by two people. So good. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. The service was really good.
