This year for Mother's Day, my wife wanted to visit our oldest son and daughter in law up in New Braunfels. The plan was for the "kids" to go to the movies while she and I stayed at the house and babysat our adorable little 5 month old grandson. None of us wanted to be bothered with going out for dinner, and my wife doesn't like to do that on "special" days anyway because of the crowds. She decided I would go over to Jimmy John's and pick up. I went on the website and tried to have our order delivered since delivery was free that day with a special code. Even though my son's house is within two miles of the store, they don't deliver there. I called instead, but after being on the phone for about 15 minutes placing a huge order, the staff at the store couldn't set it up for delivery either. No biggie. I was just being lazy anyway. I told them I would pick up our order at 2:45. Like the old fart that I am, I arrived about ten minutes early. I told them what I was there to pick up, and one of the workers told me they were working on my order, and I should grab my cookies, chips, and drinks while I waited. She gave me a huge shopping bag and a drink holder to put them in. While I was finishing up with the drinks, the same young lady called me over and handed me another huge bag with our sandwiches at exactly 2:45! When I got back to the house, we all figured out whose sandwich was whose and sat down to eat. I was amazed that all 5 of the sandwiches were exactly what we ordered. I mean my clan has some picky folks. All but 1 of the subs was full of "hold the ????" and "add some ???". As we ate, we all talked about how good the sandwiches were. My son and daughter in law said that Jimmy Johns was their go to sandwich shop. I totally understand. I had the spicy east coast Italian. It was so loaded with meats that I could have taken half off and made another sandwich. Plus, they put some kind of mayonnaise or aioli on it that was dazzling! All of us had the barbecue flavor chips but my wife. who opted for regular. As far as I am concerned, that was her loss. These were the best kettle chips I have ever had. And, believe me, this fat man has eaten a lot of kettle chips! The oatmeal raisin cookies were also really good. I did not expect that. In my opinion most prefab individually wrapped baked goods are usually only so-so. Now, I have to figure out where my local Jimmy John's is here in San Antonio and hope it is just as good. I don't want sandwiches all the time, but when the time comes, I want a good one like the one I ate in New Braunfels. read more

They are fast and Sandwiches are delicious. I got the Spicy Italian. Soooo fresh and tasty! I'm definitely going back.

Dollar for dollar, one of the better sandwich shops in New Braunfels. Even with staffing issues that everyone is dealing with, our orders are always ready super fast and the special requests are correct. I enjoy Jimmy Johns sandwiches......however the San Marcos TX location has to be the slowest and most dysfunctional I have ever experienced. Two customers stated they waited for nearly 40min (they were there before I walked in) and were clearly irritated. A city employee (shop shirt) waited 20 min (he conversed with the other 2) and I waited 10 min and was not acknowledged at the front. When I originally reviewed Jimmy John's I had given it five stars, I thought the food was great and the service was quality I even question why others had given bad reviews. Well now I have gotten a taste of what others apparently have witnessed. On 6/29/2018 my family and I dined in at Jimmy John's, I ordered one #5 with pickles one #1 without lettuce And one #3 without lettuce. I didn't get the pickles and both of my kids sandwiches had lettuce in them, Not because it added on purpose it was brought along with other toppings and ingredients. Most likely due to a dirty workstation or being sloppily prepared. Even though it wasn't purposely added it was enough that it could easily be seen and had to be removed. We asked an employee for a fork so We wouldn't have to use our hand to remove the lettuce, We were told they do not have utensils but a minute or so later we were brought a knife which was fine by us. However we told the employee what we needed utensil for in my opinion the reply should have been "let us fix it" or "let us make you a new one" Or "how can we fix this" instead as we dined on our meal we had to listen to them talking sh** behind the counter about the situation. They could have easily fixed the mistake but instead made the experience worse by commenting to each other in range of us hearing about how it's not that big of a deal. Missing pickles and unwanted lettuce may not be that big of a deal to the person making it but to the person paying for it should get what they asked for. I should've took pictures of the food and I should have recorded the employee's conversation but at the time all I wanted to do is get my kids fed And get home. Will I be dining at Jimmy John's anytime soon? probably not. What I recommend Jimmy John's to anyone after this? I most certainly would not, there are some people who are allergic to certain foods And can be made extremely ill by cross contaminations of food. Subpar employees make for a bad business. read more

Get your stuff together! I have had delivery to my address 3 times in the last month... now 1.5 miles is too far out of range. I love your sandwiches but to be told to just come and pick up an order when delivering fast food is your thing is an utter disappointment. Update: This owner/operator is incredible!!! It's a sub shop. You go in, you order a sub meal, you serve yourself drinks, you eat fast and you leave. What's not to like about that? There's about a half dozen sandwich shops like this one in New B and it accordingly is right in the middle. Service is fast, place is clean, and everything's pretty tight together on real estate. No greeting upon walking in... there were 4 guys standing around and no other customers to be waited on. One guy (red headed) was on his cell phone behind the counter. Awful customer service. Their food is no better than subway. This place is bland and has very limited selection. I tried this place out today and am not happy. I dislike this establishment for so many reasons. My first order was with a coworker and we had ordered for delivery. It took them 1hr 25min to deliver 2 sandwiches. We did let management know that we were not please. They gave each of us a $10 giftcard and apologized but made many excuses as to why the driver was unable to locate our business. The second time I ordered from them it took them 40 minutes to deliver my sandwich. Each time the sandwich was not up to par. Their giant sandwiches are not giant at all. The meat/ingredient to bread ratio was way off so each time I was just eating soggy bread. Their bread is also very cold...not even room temperature. I am not sure if the sandwiches are kept in a cooler in the drivers car or what...but I don't really want my bread cold. Overall the sandwiches sucked and the FREAKY FAST delivery is not fast at all. What a let down....I'll just keep going to Subway....better sandwich and I can go there and back much quicker than if I had it delivered by Jimmy Johns. read more

Delivery is really quick 90% of the time, and when they are busy, they will tell me if it will be a bit of a wait. Customer service is great...one time a diet coke was delivered instead of a regular coke. I called to let them know and was brought a coke asap. My daughter and I ate here for the first time today. Without realizing it, my 11 yr old left her wallet with all of her Christmas money on the seat. In a panic, I called the restaurant to see if they had it, and sure enough, they were keeping it safe until we returned. I was so relieved and thankful that the employees there are honest and have the integrity that is missing so often these days. If there were a 5 star rating for the worst sandwich place in New Braunfels this Jimmy Johns would take first place. They serve sloppy sandwiches with mayonnaise all over the bread on the outside, the vegetables are disgusting, I got half a tomato slice and a tomato end on mine. Not a lot of choices either, but that's just their menu. The attitude is unwelcoming and rude and it's not hard to see that the employees there would rather be anywhere else. Consistently bad all across the board. Get new owners or management that cares about customers and this place might be able to recover. The sandwiches were fine- nothing spectacular but the service needed some work! They didn't have lemons (or lemon packets) for iced tea or knives to cut my sandwich and when I asked where the napkins were (because we weren't given any with our meal) they pointed behind the counter...I had to reach back there myself. read more
