Stopped at Pronto Italian Sandwiches in Des Plaines on my way to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and it was such a great find. I ordered The Brando (their Italian sandwich) and it was fantastic. The Calabrian chili aioli completely made the sandwich, I'd never had it before and now I'm officially a fan. The place itself has a cool old school Italian deli feel with plaid tablecloths, and the staff told me they just opened in June 2025. I grabbed mine to go since I was working the convention center, but it looked like a cozy spot to sit down too. It's a little hidden, but totally worth seeking out. Definitely one of those spots I'll stop at again when I'm in the area. read more

Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally made it on a cold winter day. It's located in a little plaza off of Oakton (not quite on Oakton) with plenty of parking. Inside you order at the counter and they bring out your food. It was pretty empty when we got there and there is plenty of seating space. The staff were very helpful with ordering and offered suggestions when asked. I got the soup of the day and the Scorsese, Jeremy C got the Brando. These sandwiches were HUGE. I had a regular and I still had enough to save a little for later. Sandwich was hefty had a good chunk of meat and toppings and the flavors! *Chef's kiss*. Loved the food! Pronto was a good find for us while we were looking to sandwiches for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. While driving from O'Hare, we were looking for a sandwich shop and Pronto shoerd up on our list. Based on its description, we decided to check it out. Pronto is a nice neighborhood restaurant to get delicious Italian sandwiches. This location opened in June 2025. It seemed like a brand new establishment. Their sandwiches menu was good. The sandwich variety was nice. We ordered, #5 - Pacino and #7 - Scorsese, sandwiches. The Pacino was made with Prosciutto, fresh Mozzarella, Arugula, Truffle Pecorino Cream on a Schiacciata Bread and the Scorsese was made with Mortadella, Pistachio Cream, Hot Honey Pistachios, and Arugula, on a Schiacciata Bread. Both the sandwiches were good in taste but the Pacino stole the show for me. It was exactly how I like an Italian sandwich. The Prosciutto with Truffle Pecorino Cream were the stars of the sandwich. They made the sandwich so darn good. The Scorsese had a good flavor but the hot honey was a bit sweet for my liking. However, when I added Calabrian chilies paste to that sandwich, it balanced out the taste pretty good. The bread for the Scorsese was a bit cold so it was also a bit dry. But for the Pacino it was fine. Flavor wise the bread was nice in taste. The menu pricing is on the expensive side. The portion size is good for Regular and Large size sandwiches. The service was good. We were told that the owner plans on make Pronto a full fledged restaurant eventually they will serve pizza and pasta as well. I look forward to that. I'll be going back here to try more of their sandwiches. Give them a try. read more

When scrolling on tic tok , I notice a new sandwich that was being promoted. It's called the damaggio , buffalo chicken sandwich. Yes please. I did get the damaggio and the DiCaprio turkey , and the soup of the day . The demaggio was delicious, it had a Gorgonzola cheese spread on it with crispy onions. The turkey was underwhelming. It was good but not the best ever. Soup of the day is always good here. I'll definitely go back to try other sandwiches they offer. read more

I ordered at the counter and dined in. I got the Stallone sandwich but substituted the prosciutto cotto for salami. The meat and bread tasted really fresh and high quality plus there were a lot of options to choose from. The person working at the counter was also super helpful and answered my friend and I's questions about sandwich size and substitutions. And they have some cute art in the seating area but it does feel a little more like a sit down restaurant even though the concept presents as a order-at-the-counter sandwich shop. Lunch at the Chicago airport - a grab and go! The sandwich was solid but I think paying $17 for a turkey sandwich is nuts and why I didn't give it a 4 rating. If you check their website - prices aren't that different in the burbs either. I ordered the Tarantino : Roasted turkey breast, 2-year aged white Cheddar cheese. Pickled red onion. Avocado. Microgreens. Garlic aioli on schiacciata bread. The bread was good- but I think u prefer a crusty Italian loaf / baguette. Schiacciata bread is basically a thinner and crispier focaccia. Got the Pacino in a regular size - loved the flavor. Was a little salty cause of the prosciutto but that's a given. It was honestly big in size and I could only finish half of it. My only wish is that the bread would be warm - I personally popped it in my mini oven to warm up the bread and I preferred it this way. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. Really terrific sandwiches with all the details perfected. Great space and wonderful employees. Soup was great too. This is a tough one because the food is unquestionably delicious but... goodness it's expensive. 15+ dollars for a smallish sandwich that doesn't include chips or soda or... anything. I get times are tough but a soda or a bag of chips costs the restaurant maybe... what? 50 cents? Even less if they had a soda fountain. Well crafted Italian sandwich. I'm a huge fan of Italian deli sandwiches. I had the Brando with several meats provolone tomatoes and mild giardinara. This sandwich is bursting with different flavors. It does have a medium kick but no fire for me.The cost is $17 but I was stuffed after half. So it's really $8.50 a lunch. They also feature smaller ones but not the Brando. The bread is very good. Service is quick and friendly. They've only been open for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to trying the Pacino with schiacciatta bread. It's worth the splurge. AMAZING!!! We went today for lunch! Friendly people, varied sandwiches with amazing flavor! I got the deniro! So delicious! The prosciutto and the fresh mozzarella was fresh and the bread is top notch! DEFINITELY going back. I wish the hours were better. They are only open from 11am-3pm. That's the only bummer. Wanted to try this place out. I really enjoy a great Italian Sub. I couldn't order a half size Italian Sub. They don't offer it, but offer half sizes of their other sandwiches. Bought the whole one to see how it stacks up in the sandwich world. I ate half, saving the rest for later. The bread was reasonably fresh, ingredients were of average to good quality. There were not a lot of veggies on this sandwich. I would have liked to have tasted something that told me that it was Italian. It could have used oil, vinegar, some Italian seasoning sprinkled on and maybe some gardiniera. These flavors seem to be absent. There was some type of a tomato/ vinegary dressing which gave a little bit of moisture. The sandwich was 21 bucks after tax and tip. At least I'll have dinner tonight. Next trip I'll try another group of proteins and have it on their signature focaccia like bread. read more

Wanted to like this place so much but to me it's an average sandwich and very overpriced.

I HIGHLY recommend this place. The inside of the restaurant is so cute and clean, and the sandwiches are top notch. I got the Loren, which was packed high with delicious and fresh ingredients.
