Went for lunch and expected a bit of a wait due to the timing, but we stood in line for 30 minutes and had not moved any closer to ordering. Several online and phone orders going out the door and only 4 tables seated. The app to order at the table kept saying table ordering was not available at this location. No acknowledgment to those waiting inside. We ended up cutting our losses and went to Jason's Deli, ordered our food immediately, got served, and left within the amount of time we stood in line at McAlister's. read more

What's an appropriate wait time for an online order? It's been 25 minutes inside the store and very few orders are headed out the door. Many frustrated people waiting and only one person working a busy counter. Not sure where the problem lies, but in the meantime, we continue to wait. read more

I don't like dry subs, and I'd say McAlister's subs are dry. Even if you remove the bread from your sub and eat just the insides, it will still be dry. It was my first time coming here today with my fam. We ordered a couple crab and corn chowders, a McAlister's club and southwest chicken. Edible, but not the best flavors. And again... dry. I prefer Subway. But hey- the cookies are good. And we didn't try any of the spuds or salads or beverages; maybe they're better than what we've tasted today. read more

I won't be online/favor ordering from here again. This is the 2nd time my order has been wrong and McAlister's does not admit fault and blames the favor driver for the deli's mistakes. My online pick up order was a disaster as well. Haven't had an luck here and the employees were rude. read more

Just got off the phone with the manager about an issue we had yesterday. All I got was excuses and the offer to remake the sandwich which does me no good to resolve yesterdays's issue. I just wanted to hear "We are sorry and I will talk to my staff to see what could have been done differently to avoid this in the future." Nope, just excuses. We went to this location after church at about 11:30. We (me, my 2 teenage sons, and a soon to be 3 year old) ordered our food and sat down. Within about 6 minutes, I got my club sandwich, one son got his potato, and the almost 3 year old got her Mac-n-cheese. We were told my son's ham and cheese melt, with a side of broccoli, would be ready shortly. Halfway through our meal he went to ask about his food. He was told they were working on it. When his brother and I had finished our food, he got up and asked about it again and was told they were working on it. He finished his brother's potato because he was hungry. When the 3 year old had finished her food, he got up and asked about it again and was told they were working on it. He asked for it to be placed in to go containers. We cleaned up the 3 year old and he had to go stand at the kitchen and stay there until his meal was ready. It was almost an hour from placing the order to leaving. We live one mile from McAlisters, according to Google it is a 3 minute drive. When we got the food home it was cold. According to the manager, this is explained by a busy restaurant, Door Dash obligations, etc. Ridiculous! Don't go here if you want your family to eat together or if you want hot food to be hot when you get it home. read more

This Mcalisters's has the worst service. I went to pick up my curbside order and tried calling to have them bring it to me. All I got was a busy tone. Finally found a mask to go inside and tried bringing this to the workers attention and the response I got was "oh yeah I don't think our phones have been working because they haven't been ringing" and then started talking to someone else when I was trying to get this situation dealt with. Like maybe a manager should be made aware? All these kids were just standing around in the front. My order wasn't even complete in my bag so I guess I'm glad I was already in there. But You have the curbside option for a reason....??? I will drive to Hewitt to get my food. read more

Decent food in a nice atmosphere. Quick and fresh. Nothing amazing but all good. Chowder has too much hot spice but I ate it. If the chowder wasn't so Spivey it would have been 5 stars. read more

My friend and I came to this location today because we wanted to avoid the McAlister's that is closer to Baylor and downtown Waco. We arrived shortly after noon and had no trouble placing our order, there wasn't even a line. We waited a few minutes and our food came out just as expected. We arrived right before the rush, lucky for us! We even were able to get a refill of the amazing sweet tea before leaving. No problems here for us today! read more

It feels like a Panera bread to me. Just some soup out of a bag and some sandwiches. Definitely not special, average atmosphere.

Ate our whole takeout meal to find that our chocolate cake was moldy!! How long does it take for a cake to turn moldy. They were kind enough to give us a voucher for 2 free meals. Not that that was any better. We used it 2 weeks later at another location and we had the same issue. This time with my children's fruit cup!!! Never again! read more

This is a chain, but the everyone behind the counter is always nice, and the staff is always friendly.

The reason I'm giving them a 2 is not because of their food which varies each time on how well it is but because their service just seems to keep getting worse each time I go. Just today I went (1:30-2:00ish) and was rushed through my whole order when there was no one in line behind me; I barely had a chance to breath before she was already trying to complete my order. And just this past Monday my boyfriend ordered me something to go and after sitting there for half hour he went to check on it and they had given it to someone else without calling his name. We've had to stop going for weeks at a time so that we can get a break from the random bad days of food and the service of the workers. I will say this their attitudes aren't as bad as the one on South 6th Street by Baylor. I love their food but I'm just tired of getting disappointed. read more

I have been to this location several times, and always receive good service. Today at about 1:48 I ordered a mixed green salad with a scoop of the harvest chicken salad over it, with balsamic dressing. The chicken salad was very good as usual, however I did bite down on a small chicken bone. Also, they gave me italian dressing instead, which was way too tart. There were a few (about 5) pieces of clearly old, shriveled and soggy lettuce mixed in with my salad. So, today, a little dissappointing, but i do plan on coming back as this doesnt normally happen. read more

I've been a fan of McAlister's for years. Their food is usually fresh and the service quick. However they have a habit of sneaking in extra costs when you least expect it. For instance they used to offer a smaller drink which was just perfect. I have small hands and can't handle either the size or price of their regular drink. They then downsized the kids cup to where it was not worth the money. Today I was told that the choose 2 menu has changed and now you will get charged extra if the half salad that you order is classified a "Premium". In my case I ordered a Southwest Salad and a cup of chili. They have eliminated the Taco Salad and upgraded the Southwest Salad to Premium by adding THREE small slices of avocado. They have also changed the dressing to a chili lime vinegar concoction that tastes terrible. My total for a small salad and a cup of chili was$9.30 which did not include a drink. I have recently retired and am on a reduced income so I will think hard before I return. read more

So if I was basing this review on just food, McAlisters is a 5-star. The cranberry club is very delicious along with the potato soup, also delicious is the tuna salad sandwich. Unfortunately tonight we had a bad experience with the girl working the counter, she seemed very disinterested when we were placing our order, it seemed like it was a problem to answer questions about what came on a sandwich, so ok, we dismissed this attitude, we proceeded to eat our food. On our way out we decided to order a New York Cheesecake, on the menu it says fruit topping, i asked the same girl at the counter from earlier what the options were, she literally looked at the menu board, I said well it doesn't say it up there, she said strawberry, mango and peach. We proceeded and waited about 10 mins for the cheesecake? There was another lady there at the same time, she apparently experienced the same attitude from the same girl at the counter, she went around the back and asked for a manger and told the manager, I'm not sure what that girls problem is up there but I just wanted to pick up my birthday cake gift, and she wants to give me attitude, she's is working in the wrong business, this is not the job for you! So again the food was great, the place is clean but the girl working the counter not very customer friendly. read more

Just visited last week to grab a bite in the afternoon before grocery shopping. It was mid afternoon and the deli was not very crowded but I had to wait 30 minutes for a salad to go order. I was on the verge of asking for my money back and leaving when a girl from behind the counter told me they were bagging my order and it would not be much longer. Almost thirty minutes had passed at this point and this was the first acknowledgement I had received about a delay in the order. On top of that the order was made wrong but I did not have any more time to spend there. I did see at least four employees order food and receive their food before mine while I was waiting. I do not know if they were just on break but several employees were hanging out in the front distracting the ones who were working and just plain getting in the way. I will not visit this McAlister's again and will go to the one by Baylor instead. I never have a problem there and everyone is always courteous and hard-working. read more
