We've been to Magnolias Veranda several times in the past, and most items we've had a solid 4. Last night, however, they knocked it out of the park. We ordered the ribeye steak dinner. I have been to many restaurants in my life at different price points and this ribeye was seriously at the top of the perfection list. I ordered the steak to be cooked medium. The steak was cooked exactly the way I requested, and the ribeye was almost fork tender. It literally just about melted in my mouth. For one of the side dishes I upgraded to the gumbo and that was probably the best gumbo I have ever had outside of New Orleans. The service was prompt and everyone was friendly. The service at Magnoila's Veranda is outstanding. From the seating hostess to the bussers, everyone is so friendly and accommodating. (Mom was in a wheelchair.) Located on the mezzanine off the casino floor, directly across Fremont Hotel & Casino in the Four Queen's Hotel & Casino, there are stairs up to the restaurant and an elevator that stops either Hugo's Cellar or Magnolia's. The food has not disappointed us yet. Suffering the effects of vertigo, I had difficulty eating. Nauseousness set in. The most non threatening solid food I attempted was mashed potatoes & gravy. An excellent choice! The potatoes are freshly mashed and well seasoned while the gravy complimented and brought it all together. Not salty in the least! A+++ Mom loves biscuits and gravy (and spam musubi) and only gets it when we are in Vegas. The buscuit & gravy at Magnoia's is outstanding! The best I've ever had. The biscuit is large and oh so soft. Usually sausage gravy is on the saltier side, from all that I've had, but not here. Absolutely delightful! Creamy and thick and very flavorful. I only went in for a taste, and expressed my enjoyment that pleased my mom as she was worried for me feeling unwell, she insisted I finish it. I did, after she had had her fill. Understood since it was consistently busy when I was there. I asked for medium rare for my prime rib special and it was cooked perfectly. Service was hit and miss, we had to wave someone down to take our order and we never had our water refilled without having to ask. The last time I ate at Magnolia's was for breakfast probably 6 years ago or so and I remember liking it. The restaurant is inside Four Queens and is located on the floor above Hugo's Cellar. I stopped by for a late dinner at 11PM this past weekend and I had a really delicious pork chop dinner for $20. The pork chop was bone-in, charbroiled perfectly, and served with a side of corn and choice of potato (I got a baked one). The meal also came with soup or salad. I got the salad with ranch dressing and it was a simple, good salad. I realize that it was late and maybe I was starving, but everything I ate was so good. As I've previously stated, Magnolia's Veranda is one of my favorite places to eat downtown. The food and the service are excellent every time. Ambience wise, it's cavernous with lot's of seating. I've never had to wait for a table. Once nice thing is it's a super easy walk from the Plaza where I stay on a monthly basis. This trip, I ordered the Kings Court breakfast. It comes with two eggs to order, your choice of bacon or sausage, hash browns, and your choice of toast. I went with over easy eggs, bacon, hash browns, and rye toast. Every bit of it was excellent. I washed it down with Iced Tea, and the glass was kept full. Magnolia's Veranda is another example of my admonition that generally speaking the best of Las Vegas will not be found on the strip. I actually think this place is an absolute gem. I have a soft spot for the decor because it is a little dated, but I hope they never change it. it feels warm unlike a lot of modern restaurants nowadays. The food was absolutely delicious. A great spot inside the 4 Queens casino. We came for breakfast on a Thursday. It was a little busy, but not too bad. The woman who seated us said they are short staffed (but who isn't these days?), but they were on top of their game that day. We had wonderful service and the food was great. We didn't order dessert, but I peeped a delicious hot brownie with whipped cream. Prices are extremely reasonable and one can utilize their players club points toward their meal. We stroll in here late night because we were hungry and we heard a lot about Hugo cellar. It's one of the oldest restaurants in Fremont, it was pretty packed when we were there. It was really really late at night and everybody was completely nice. You could tell that they like their jobs as far as the ambience kinda look like an old school restaurant may be in the 70s or 80s is what I'm guessing which does not bother me at all. I love nostalgic things and feelings as far as the food I feel like you can't mess up egg and bacon, but I think you probably could but this was really good on top of the pancake was delicious. The prime rib was twice as high as it used to be. Now, I know that COVID made everything more expensive, but it just seems pretty high for a restaurant in a casino downtown. It was very expensive! It used to be $14.99 but now is $29.99. That's quite a hike. As always, I get bad diarrhea every time I eat the sour cream on my baked potato. How do I know that's the culprit? My spouse doesn't eat the sour cream but eats everything else the same. I need to remember not to eat the sour cream. You see, I love sour cream on my potatoes, but I keep forgetting not to eat it here. So, again, the food & service was fantastic! Just very expensive now. read more

Craving prime rib while visiting Las Vegas. Came into the 4 Queens hotel and found Magnolia's Veranda. Service was adequate my waitress good, not great. The prime rib was delicious and the creamed Horseradish was quite hot and excellent. Ordered a long Island iced tea,it was a good stiff drink. The restaurant overlooks the casino floor so there was the noises and activities that come with gambling, but it was not too loud. The lightning was nice, soft but bright enough to easily see my meal. The price was right, especially considering the quality of the prime rib. If the wait staff was a bit more attentive I would have given it 5 stars instead of 4. read more

5 Stars We make it a point to eat at Magnolia's Veranda every time we visit Vegas and stay at the Four Queens. It's one of our go-to spots! We've had a variety of dishes over the years -- the prime rib is always a standout and very tender. If you're a casino rewards club member, they offer a 2-for-1 coupon for dinner during the month of your birthday. Wish they would bring back the 2-for-1 coupon book at the hotel. I've tried the burger and the gumbo -- both were excellent. My mom's enjoyed the salads and the fish and chips. We've also had breakfast here, including the King's Court special, eggs Benedict, and even corned beef hash on St. Patrick's Day. The service is fast, and the prices are very reasonable for being right on Fremont Street. One note: it's located on the casino floor, so you might catch a whiff of smoke depending on who's nearby. But the convenient location inside the Four Queens makes it super easy to grab a meal without even leaving the building. So, it's been about, oh, 8 years or so since I've eaten here. Prices have definitely gone up, and the menu seems more limited than what I remember. But, the place itself still looks the same. As in the past, there was a short wait to be seated. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Hubby got the club sandwich with potato salad, I got the open faced turkey. Friends got a deep dish pizza and biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals. I mean, I wouldn't say there is anything amazing about the place or anything. It is a greasy spoon after all. But, the portion sizes are big and the food hits the spot.
