My god... where do I even begin. Everything from the ambience to the service to the food was a 5 for me. The food came out quick and the beer is fantastic! Highly Highly recommend the Prime Rib Sliders 110%. This will probably be our new go to spot. Also the covid guidelines are being followed which makes for a safe and relaxing dining experience great job guys/girls you hit it outta the park. Our second trip here, this time with a group of friends. The owner, Amy served us and she was wealth of information about their bourbons. A couple of our friends love bourbon but have never found Pappy's. He was THRILLED to have finally tasted it for a very reasonable priced pour. Aside from the selection of bourbons the food was WONDERFUL! Our order took a little longer so Amy brought us out these appetizers of Irish egg rolls and spinach dip that were beyond yummy. Everything tasted freshly made. Not your typical bar food at all. Our table had the appetizers, fish and chips, prime rib sliders, farmhouse salad, French onion soup and pretzel bites. Wow! Can't recommend this place enough, just afraid we won't have a place to sit if word gets out too much! read more

The weather has changed and I wanted an Irish coffee and a bite to to eat as I was in the area, and had a pleasant experience before (pre-covid). The sign said "please be patient with our limited staff", which is understandable, I was ready to be patient. I sat at the bar and greeted the bartender and asked her if I could order food from the bar. She replied yes and I ordered an Irish coffee. The look on her face was priceless as she stated this is not possible as there is no coffee made. She offered me some cocktail with "coffee flavor", which I declined. The banter went back and forth and she clearly did not want to make coffee and stated it would take 15 min and I said I would wait. The story then changed to "the coffee machine has not been used in a long time", with my questioning look she added that it was a REALLY long time, which made me think like years lol. WTH, why not just say That we don't offer Irish coffees. It was quite a weird experience. Maybe a small Kuerig machine,or even instant coffee. Very unaccommodating bordering on rude. Well that was unexpected. Thought we would try some place new to have a drink and grab a bite after a long weekend. We have driven by this place hundreds of times and never thought much of it. But wow were we missing out all those times. We walk in and sit at the bar. To say the bar is stacked is a complete understatement. Hundreds upon hundreds of bottles of whiskey and scotch. The place is very laid back and chill, but you can tell it's a great spot to watch soccer. Bartender was great. My GF let's it slip that it's my birthday. Bartender says man you gotta treat yourself and get the spare ribs. I take his recommendation and we get the prime rib sliders as well. He brings the food out and we are blown away!!! I thought we were getting some glorified bar food. No no no this is a fine dining experience. The food was exceptional! Couldn't believe this came out of a kitchen at the end of a strip mall, but it did and we are coming back. read more

We come in here quite often....mostly for the Irish eggs rolls. We came in here today....it wasn't busy and then of course at dinner time it got busy. We had to ask for a beer EACH time we needed one. I heard more often than I should have, please be patient we are busy. Either hire more staff or stop telling me to be patient. We have been patient the last few times we were here. The owner, Amy, not so nice. Quit being the way you are when you come into YOUR establishment!!! Please be grateful you are busy. There are other local bars that wish they were as busy as you were tonight. We chose McClellen's as a meet up point for my out of town family to gather to watch some of March Madness and enjoy some food and beverages. It's a cute little Irish pub with a small menu, but nice variety of Irish themed foods, and your regular bar staples if you're not too adventurous. There are several small TV screens at the bar, and my uncle could still keep tabs as to what was happening. The staff is very friendly. We ordered a slew of appetizers: fried pickles, jalapeño poppers, fried Gouda cheese with blueberry sauce, spinach dip, flour chips and cheese and a couple varieties of wings. My aunt was a little disappointed there was nothing gluten free on the menu except your ever boring salad. All the food was delicious. The fried gouda was my favorite. That blueberry sauce was a nice twist and kind of turned it into a pastry! So different, but so decadent. Wonderful drink selection and beer choices and reasonable prices. My Bloody Mary was delicious. Really the only thing lacking was the time it took to get our checks. Service was pretty steady up until that point, and a few more people had come in, but it did take almost 45 minutes to get the check and pay. By some respects, McClellan's is just another strip mall bar, but looks can be deceiving and it has some good things going for it. First and foremost, the pool table area is awesome. It's separated from the rest of the bar by a low rise wall, and there is plenty of elbow room to play with no interference. At just a buck per game, it's not a bad deal either. Secondly, it is an Irish style pub, and they did not slack on the whiskey offerings. I saw Baker's, Slow and Low, Watershed, Monkey Shoulder and plenty of other rare offerings, especially for a strip mall. They have a small kitchen menu and the wings seem to be a hit. There's also a decent-sized patio on the side for the smokers and those who don't mind them. read more

I got invited here to watch some Champions League matches, which they are cool enough to broadcast to a rowdy crowd of Liverpool fans on a dreary afternoon. This place is a real diamond in the rough for a pub, angled on the corner of the northern most extreme tip of the strips of shops that run the length of Sawmill Road before it runs into the I-270 on-ramp. I almost feel like this is one of those places you find through networking and suggestion, becasue as I mentioned that's how I found it (and frankly fell in love a bit). It's your typical Irish watering hole, and they emphasize that point with really nice decorative elements that make you feel like you've entered a humble public house (of sorts) with brick elements and wood accents in a nice big bar that slings copious amounts of beer. They also have a decent Irish whiskey selection, and god bless them for that. I wish they had a few more items of Scotch, but I can't begrudge them for that for obvious reasons. The food is pretty decent for the price. You definitely win out on quantity for cost. Some of their unique takes on appetizers are pretty cool too - they have an really great "Irish Nachos" dish that has true fried potato slices sitting in a heap of pulled meat, green chili, and sweet BBQ sauce. Pretty cool. The draft specials are good too and seem to rotate. If you're looking for a decent, intimate, place to grab a pint with your friends that's easy to get to from the Highway or your home (if you live on the NW side of town), this is pretty nice option. read more

It was a wonderful assortment of meats, cheeses, dips, olives, and pickles surrounded by a delicious soft pretzel. Perfect to go with an ice cold draft at happy hour price. I've heard negative things about McClellans from friends but decided to give it a try. The owner must just want a hangout for his old drunk buddies. After a Brett Young concert the staff literally told the party ahead of us that concert patrons are not welcome and locked the doors. I can understand wanting to keep riff-raff out of your establishment but everyone wanting to in was at least mid 40's, dressed respectfully and non-belligerent. Drive a mile north and spend your $ at 101 Beer Kitchen. They don't discriminate. read more

Owner is always rude to patrons. Food is decent but not worth the harassment. It's a strip mall bar, there are many with better service.

Well, I must say Im fairly impressed. Lets start with the exterior. Its in a strip mall, fairly inconspicuous. Plenty of parking, not too much litter or cigarette butts. On the interior, there are rows and rows of all kinds of Irish liquor, scotch and the like. They have Tullamore Dew on tap, they say its the only location in Ohio that has this. Speaking of taps, they have all kinds of beer, and different glassware according to whatever it is you are drinking, foreign, domestic, microbrew, specialty. The service was great. I only drank a couple drinks but noticed the menu seemed short but interesting. Would like to try the menu next time I am here. A very large group came in but the staff seemed to get the drinks out in good time. Again, thats impressive. The patio looked pretty cool, the restroom looked clean. Women should not fear this place either, this isnt really a creepy old man type hole in the wall. I recommend for sure! read more

I've been here twice now. The first thing I noticed is that it's inviting. There's a long wooden bar that goes from the front door to the back of the place. The price for a domestic beer is $2.75. I had the distinct pleasure of sitting next to a grown man and his mother. The son was raising his voice at his mother, demanding that she give him $150 of his money, to which she politely refused. The son replied, "I don't give a shit what the judge said! It's my money! You can't keep my fuckin' money from me!" The mother shook her head and said, "I just spent $200 on the car. And don't speak to me like that anymore." And this conversation went on like so for a time. Needless to say, this dominated my attention for quite some time, and I decided that I needed to relay this on Yelp. It's not too often that you can find such fine entertainment at such an affordable price. I would come back here someday. read more

Locally owned and operated. This charming pub is a great place to just chill. Inviting....it's the kind of place where you can go a feel right at home "where everybody knows your name". The staff is great! Very friendly and personable. If they see a new face immediately they would introduce themselves and take the time to get to know who you are. You would never feel like just a random customer here. Drinks galore!!!!! Great variety of pretty much anything you want. I especially love Amy's special bloody Mary. It has a great kick to it. Oh and Sundays they have brunch on their patio. I haven't had the chance to enjoy that yet because i work all day Sundays but i will tell you their funnel fries are to die for. I do not like to post negative, however as we walked in abruptly I heard the server exclaim to her table "I don't think I deserve to wait on this girl ". I was one of 10 people in a Birthday party in the wrong restaurant/ bar. I am also a 20 year veteran server who just got off work and had not enjoyed a libation at that point in the evening. Apparently this bar is so well off they don't want or need your business. Soooooooo disappointing. Do not act like yourself here. You need to be buttoned up and mind your server. This whiskey bar/pub was highly recommended by friends. We wanted to really support them, especially during COVID. My husband and I went last Saturday, seated ourselves and ordered drinks. The waiter was great, very knowledgeable about their bourbon and beer. We then ordered food. My husband went to the restroom and was walking back to our table when he was accosted by the "manager." She yelled at him from behind the bar that he had to wear a mask when going to the restroom. He explained that he cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition, and proceeded to return to our table. As he sat down, the "manager" came over to our table and said she would be happy to box up our food, give us our check and that we had to leave. We were dumbfounded at this treatment. My husband said he would wear a mask if he would have to use the restroom again. She said that would not be necessary and that we were being kicked out because my husband was disrespectful to her and the waiter ???? My husband only stated that he had a medical condition, and walked back to our table. She felt that him turning his back while she was berating him, was disrespectful ???? We were shocked at this treatment and felt the "manager" obviously didn't need our business. We will not be going back! read more

I have been here for a few different occasions. For Halloween they had a DJ and surprisingly it was a lot of fun, for such a small venue. They have great drink specials every night! Small bar menu but the food is great! The other day I went with my bro-in-law on a Friday night and had great service. Our server ass friendly and checked on us many times. I've been going to McClellan's going on 2 years now. I stumbled upon it one evening as I was driving by on my way home from work. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in for something special. I knew absolutely nothing about Bourbon and ordered a Manhattan made with Crown Royal. Amy the owner quickly pointed out that I was making a mistake drinking Manhattan's with a "whiskey" that wasn't really a whiskey. She quickly pulled a chart and asked me to choose different flavors and decided on Woodford as a bourbon I should be considering for my drink. I was hooked. She's an amazing owner who takes the time to educate her customers. The food menu is perfect all at a very reasonable price and portions. It is my go to to take a date or simply having dinner with my children. I recommend everyone to enjoy McClellan's at least once and you'll be surprised at how often you'll want to go back!!
