I've been coming to Press Grill for at least 10 years, if not longer, and it's always been consistent. It's my go-to whenever I'm in the Short North for work. The food at this modest pub on High Street was amazing! I was seriously tempted by the Sunday steak special ($16 for a 12 oz sirloin), but couldn't resist the Turkey Club I had seen on Yelp photos. This place is awesome. I've been going to press since I've lived in Columbus and it's stood the test of time as a place with great food and service that has been amazingly consistent. I moved to Columbus 12 years ago and Press has always been great. The vibe is a local spot maybe slightly dive-y but in an endearing kinda way. Would recommend the daily specials and the pork sandwich, but really everything is great and so much is made in-house. Buffalo chicken sandwich, French dip and thanksgiving dinner are always good choices when they're available. Staff is constantly down to earth friendly and kind. My wife loves the buffalo shrimp, which go right on the grill and taste great. Drinks are a little pricey and the pricing has gone up a lot over the last decade but that's just the world today. If everyone had a local spot like Press the works would be a better place. read more

For years, I've been going to the press Grill on Main Street in downtown... I had no idea there was a new location. Well it's been there for years, but it's new to me. That's located in Grandview. This location is much newer and much larger than the original location. The barkeeper was excellent and we sat at the bar for dinner. My husband ordered a Smashburger and I ordered a grilled chicken and pesto sandwich which I added fries to, or excuse me cottage chips, which are circular fries. The burgers are themselves small so you need to order a couple patties and the server will explain that to you. Each patties 3 ounces before they're cooked so as they cook up, they get even smaller. I think my husband had three patties??? Not sure. My chicken sandwich was rumored to be one of the most ordered menu items. I can see why the description is amazing. The fun that it served on is very fresh so it's nice to not need to feel like you need to saw your way through a ciabatta button to get to the sandwich part of it. You just bite into it and it was like butter. What was not butter was the chicken that was a little dry and over grilled. Have the chicken not been overcooked I would've said the sandwich would've been amazing because every thing you could possibly want: bacon, lettuce, tomato, mushroom, and flavorful sauce. Even with that said, the sandwich still was good. It just wasn't amazing. So I mean, look at the location, the atmosphere the bar, setting the personality of a staff, the promptness of getting your food and the food quality. I'd say this place still is quite solid and I'd give it four stars and that's with a sandwich that wasn't perfect pretty good. I'd come back. I will be stopping here again for sure. I love press grill. I just moved tot the neighborhood and came here with a friend and it was his first time. If you go you MUST get the loaded cottage fries. They are always a hit, I got the white pizza and my friend got the by strip. We were both VERY PLEASED. We came for dinner on Monday and there were a decent amount of people there but no wait. The bartender was very friendly and was in top of the water refills which I am always on the lookout for. He had a great personality! I had to sit close to this annoying girl who thought it was a good idea to sing loudly next to the jukebox all while eating. I was pointed in the direction of Press Grill for good food, and they did not disappoint! I took a seat at the bar where I was greeted immediately. I had a few questions about the menu which the lovely lady behind the bar helped with and decided on the double cheeseburger with a side of the Tabasco mayo sauce. Press Grill is a tried and true option in the Short North. They have late night eats and that's how I ended up there on my last visit. The interior is small and dark, not a lot of space to maneuver, and they're always busy. The reason for that is because they have something on the menu to satisfy everyone. Pizza, burgers, sammies, etc-- I tried a really awesome salad with strawberries. A decent salad can be hard to find at 10pm and this one did not disappoint. My friend had something off-menu that they made for him, and some tasty onion rings. We also grabbed a pizza to go because my friend is a regular and they offered it on-the-house. Great service and experience and all the food I tasted was solid. It's not the most unique or creative menu but it's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a later meal and having a hard time finding anything tasty. read more

For some reason Columbus has not heard that there are more than Diet Coke diet sodas. And there is also Zero drinks as well as something called Dr Pepper. I'm sure there were 20 kinds of beers so adding a zero or at least another flavor diet would be appreciated by many. Wow, what a treat this little spot is. It is small inside and definitely a little old (learned it's one of the oldest restaurants in Columbus) but that plays into its charm! We had an excellent waitress, who was very sweet and took good care of us. My family came here for my brother's birthday and we sat at a big table in the back. We drank some wine and split the loaded cottage fries and buffalo wings for our appetizers. They were excellent but the fries stole the show. I had a small mixed greens salad that was very tasty! For dinner, I had the works pizza with no olives and it was absolutely fabulous, my husband stole a piece and agreed. At the table we also had some cheeseburgers and press burgers, and a pepperoni pizza and everyone raved about their meal. Finally, for dessert we finished with the snickerdoodle pie and chocolate mousse cake. The snickerdoodle was good, more of a peanut butter pie, and the chocolate was super rich and tasty!
