There is a water front too and people were fishing and a whole lot of ducks were on their evening flying routine..... Its a small park, with considerable parking. It's so smooth and flat here, you could probably push a baby stroller through here. ;-) The paths average 6 to 8 feet in width. No tree roots crossing the trails, or stumps, or logs blocking the trails. I didn't see a single piece of trash or any dog poop on the trails. But they allow horses on these trails, so there is some manure - just a little bit though. It gets pretty quiet on the trails, even though it's in the middle of town. Most of the trails are laid out in a grid format, kind of like city streets are laid out. Signage is abundant and trails are clearly marked. I can't imagine how someone could possibly get lost out here. I was able to get a 7.4 mile hike, even though I didn't hit all the trails. I'd estimate there's a total of 10 miles of trails out here. The most elevation change I was able to get was 33 feet over a stretch of one mile, so as I said - very flat! There's also a nice little pond at the trailhead, and parking for about two dozen cars.

Kennedy introduced himself as the guy who was taking care of animals since 5 generations and he is studying to be a vet. The main mahout was a small guy and he was hilarious. He did most of the talking about all the animals. These elephants are rescue elephants which have been handed over by the zoo for various reasons, or, so I understand. There are 3 elephants Paige with longest teeth, Jeanie with a little short ones , and Krissy with none. With poaching increasing, the number of Krissy's are increasing. That will keep them safe I guess. Not sure why the previous reviews are so brief. We got to learn about them, feed them carrots, even phones if u r willing to give away ( ha ha- Paige really seemed to want them), how to keep their foot and nails in shape, bathing them so on and so forth. This was the first time I had heard a live trumpet and it was adorable. In the end we posed for pics. They are tamed and trained no doubt, but seemed to be enjoying our company and well treated by their owners. They have plenty of parking. Tickets are purchased online, most often they are open only one weekend a month. Restrooms are available. Food not allowed, but a bottle of water is ok. Got to meet Abu the camel, his partner, a zebra and a billy goat and his family too. I wanted to hold one and did not know how to- one of the helper guys I approached said just pick them up and hold - really ! Then some other fellow visitor helped.
