Best Dinning experience I have ever had in Boulder. If you're looking for a good local family run burger joint owned by two brothers who's names will go down in history than look no further. I stood there for awhile not realizing I had to order at the counter, I mean how genius is that to cut out the middle man "The Waiter" and order your food directly from the line. I didn't even have to wait for someone to bring it to me they said my name and I walked right up to the counter, picked up my order which was executed perfectly and began my exploration into the heavenly tastes laid before me. I will never forget my first bite of my Mcdouble with no pickles. I consider myself a proud man, I own a ford pickup truck, have two kids and am a proud owner of a house with only three years left on my mortgage. But, by god when I took that first bite, it must have been the proudest moment of my life. It was an explosion of flavor the likes of which I have never experienced before. It was as if I heard my taste buds were talking to me NO begging me to take another bite. Which I did and the cycle started all over again. A rip off. I ordered 3 egg mcmuffins and 3 hash browns at the drive thru. After paying, the guy at pickup window 1 asked me to wait at pickup window 2. He gave me my order the window 2. When I got back to work,I found he had given me my 3 mcmuffins sandwiches but only 2 hasbrowns. It's not that hard to count to 3. Come on! Are you purposely shorting orders? If you do a mobile order don't even bother with curbside, do drive through or go inside, unless you want to wait 15 minutes. Delivery drivers should refuse to deliver from here. They seem to take perverse pleasure in making your hourly wage less through incompetence. Also, while waiting for a delivery I needed to pee and they sent a cop into the locked bathroom after me. I get it you have a homeless problem but sending a cop in after someone who identified themself as a delivery driver waiting for you to do your job is outrageous! This specific McDonalds keeps going downhill. Since the location on Baseline closed down to be rebuilt, the location on 28th is the only one available in the city of Boulder. I've experienced so many rude employees and mistakes in my orders. Every single time I stop by, there is a problem. If my husband didn't insist on having McDonalds for lunch (he has an addiction to their fries), I would completely stop going to this location. I have literally told him that I HATE this McDonalds! Prepare to order by kiosk if you go inside. If you try to do it in person then they will ignore you. After using the kiosk and selecting a number, they're supposed to deliver the food to your table. If you're not paying attention, you will waste time waiting at your table while your food is sitting on the counter. In drive through, you must check the bag before driving away, as they often leave out items. Also, check special orders before driving away (such as a cheeseburger with ketchup only, that came out as a cheeseburger plain). read more

We ordered through the drive thru for dinner and got two quarter pounders - our favorite because they're cooked fresh upon order. However, this time the burger came so fresh that it was not even cooked (see photo attached). Absolutely appalling and disgusting. I literally never write reviews but my experience I had at this location today was bizarre. First off, the line in the drive thru was 15 minutes long. Annoying but obviously not the employees fault. After I ordered I pulled up to the window to pay only to be met with an employee who accused me of not ordering and skipping the line. I didn't do this so it ended up being back and forth of me saying I didn't do it and him insisting I did even though he was the one who had taken my order. He started cussing at me even though I had a pretty good attitude considering he was not giving good customer service at all. Like hey, I get it, I worked fast food for a year and hated it too, but I never treated a customer like that when I forgot to actually put their order in. Hard to believe that I had to "add" this McDonald's to Boulder Yelp but it simply was not there, mobile or website. I was hungry and motivated to try it in their brand new building. They tore down the old one and built this with a modern style, and it is right next to Trader Joe's and you can pass between the parking areas without going back out on the street. I ate my very first meal in Boulder at this location, I think about two buildings ago, when passing through Boulder on the way to CA back in the 70's. After moving here, we frequented it on and off. My kids loved it, it was the party place (neat caboose as a party room used to be parked behind it) back in the 80's. I was hungry and driving by today and thought I should try it again. McDonald's breakfast food was always a road trip favorite so I had my personal fav, bacon and egg on a biscuit, no cheese. And yes it was very good. I love the way they bake their biscuits. The interior is very nicely styled, modern, clean, quite comfortable looking. A great update! For late morning, it seems quite popular. They have a nicely designed new double lane drive thru that was very busy also. read more

Always at least 1 homeless person lingering in the restaurant, but I've seen as many as 5-6. Usually wouldn't be a problem, except that they are rarely "customers." They will bother you for food, ask you for money, try to add things to your order, etc. Sometimes openly drinking alcohol in the store. Usually someone yelling or having some sort of episode. Managers could not care less. I've had to give food to them before just so that they would leave me alone. The food is usually good here but that does not matter if you don't feel safe eating it. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My daughter and I went to this location for the NEW Carmel brownie Mcflurry and we're very disappointed. We asked for extra topping on our McFlurry when we got them there was five pieces of brownie on mine. I wish I was exaggerating and it wasn't blended in! To top it off the uncaring staff decided the entire glob of Carmel should go on my daughter spoon. Our fries were also soggy and not even luke warm. My suggestion? Drive-thru. Usually the person taking my order is competent. Tonight the person constantly asked over and over what I had ordered, then said to just come up to the 1st window. I said ok. Then he started to joke about what I had ordered, charged my card, then said he ordered something different for me. He was giggling. Maybe high? I get it. You're darn right I'm reviewing this McD's. As an occasional Sunday treat (when my wife is working and I can get rid of the evidence) I splurge and get a burger and fries from McD's on the way home from dropping her at work. The food at this location is always consistent, and I think out of the many times I've been I've had warm (instead of delicious and piping hot) fries maybe twice. I always use the drive through, and regardless of the size of the line I feel like I never wait more than 5-10 minutes from order to drive-off. The staff is always very friendly, and always make sure to get my order correct (I've never had pickles on a burger that I asked them to hold off on, unlike many fast food establishments). I've never been inside, so I'm not sure what that's like, but there are usually quite a few pan-handlers hoping for some spare change or fries at the exit. read more

I was at this McDonald's when I noticed I had to use the facilities. I walked towards the back to use the restroom and that is when I first noticed the doorknobs. I have to admit not only am I a fan of the doorknob height and/or position on the physical door but I am also a fan of the actual doorknob. We ordered food and went to eat outside. There were so many homeless people on the patio we couldn't eat outside. The patio has access from the sidewalk and there was one woman with 4 dogs running around the patio. Another person was smoking. A couple walked up with 2 shopping carts full of junk and parked them in middle of patio. They then started coughing all over. They went in and bought coffee. The woman bought a drink. So they technically weren't loitering, but they had their dogs, stunk of cigarette smoke, etc. The patio has an opening on each side so it is accessible from the sidewalk. The patio (and sidewalk out front) was littered and dirty. I think they should consider putting a rail on each side so that it's only accessible from the inside. They will lose customers otherwise. read more
