What can be better than getting home from a fast food burger lunch and still enjoy the scent on your fingertips? Maybe I just miss In-N-Out from my years and visits from the west coast days, the home territory of these burgers. And maybe I was so happy to find this one, my rating meter went up. The one in the Denver metro area formerly known as Stapleton was the first inland location I tried. I strained to give it a 4. It was crowded and slow and the veggies were so sub par, twice was enough. We are rarely in that area anyway, and it was a stretch to get there when busy, closer but not close enough to our Aurora destination. Finally today, I was able to try the newer Longmont location, more similar in situation to most of the CA and OR locations that I have tried. The veggie parts were up to standards I was used to, when every previous location I had tried further west delivered Salinas Valley-based farm products straight up I-5, likely fresh from the packing houses. This staff was right on task in traditional In-N-Out training, working quickly on a summer lunch time, getting the well done fries done, perhaps even a bit "over" well done but so much better than damp underdone as in the Denver area shop. Now that I know they pay attention, I can go back to ordering standard as I could do in CA. My onions were grilled and visible, the chopped yellow peppers had "bite." The spread ("special sauce" to you newbies) was good and just enough for a good taste without dripping all over me. The lettuce was bold green and crispy, the tomato, rich red and moist. Our drinks were fine. My husband was releived to get an optional 16oz root beer float as most in Boulder seem to be 20 oz and some even bigger. That is far too much for diners our age. No thanks. My iced tea was fine and self-serve allowed me to add water to lower the caffeine content, medically necessary. Well made fresh tea in their separate container and not a spout from a soda machine which is so much cleaner tasting and fresh. Dining tables outside are covered, perfect on a sunny warm day, which is how we always ate out west near the coast. Quite a lot of traffic on 119 going by, but not really an annoyance. It's fast food at a humongous shopping center, not fine dining in the country. I will certainly be back, maybe even considering a special trip to do so and not just tagging it on to a mandatory appointment. I wish I could give it a 5+ star rating. read more

Honest 5. Mainly for vibes and how satiating this is. I know people are torn on whether or not in n out is great, I quite like it. I loaded my burger with EVERY ingredient, and the cashier was such a delight. We joked around, and that burger with fries and a shake was right under $10. You can't get grub like that for prices like that! Get me an in n out in Minnesota, I'd be there all the time. --The vibes are always immaculate here, I wonder if cashiers secretly have to be extra nice to you, like chikfila. This was a tough one. I love other burger places like 5 guys. This restaurant just opened and I was lucky the traffic was quiet. For $11, I got the double cheeseburger with regular fries and drink. I was teetering on three stars but decided to give the benefit of the doubt since I didn't try other things yet. The burger was fine, nothing special and actually rather plain. I was expecting some more flavor from the sauce and relish. The veges were fresh but the whole thing was just like if you made a burger at home. I'd even take some Big Mac sauce or mustard next time. Fries, oh boy. Definitely live up to the bad reviews. Seem like you ordered fast food fries and left them in the fridge overnight, then microwaved them. Really bad, and it seems they have a standard of making them this way across all locations. I was wishing I just got the burger, and went to McDs for the fries and drink! By the way, half+ of the drink was ice, so ask to omit that. Wasn't bad but I'll definitely try the Animal Fries next time, hopefully that fixes the dry issue. I got, as you do, the regular cheeseburger animal style, extra fried onions, extra pickles, extra fried mustard, you know, the ushz. What made this site stand out was the extraordinary behavior of the lead (?) clerk, Jonah, who was not only taking orders, but in between taking orders and handling food he was tidying the floor behind the counter! picking up dropped fries, dropped packaging off the floor, multitasking, passing out food to customers, helping in-n-out in so many ways. Now that dual tasking, that is leadership. And when I reminded him to wash his hands before handling food or trays after picking up trash from the floor, the young gentleman was kind enough to thank me for reminding him to perform basic hygiene (without much but some tone). Just for clarity, I think his behavior was either worth a warning and writing up or was just worth just summarily firing due to violation of basic food service good practice. You do not pick up stuff off the floor once or repeatedly and handle food. the burger was good, but don't look up what the owner does with the money. read more

Thank God for a good hype machine because that's all that carries this franchise. First off having 2 lane drive thru that just merges into one seems like a giant fail here. Get ready to wait 20 mins just on the line to order basic food. The staff is friendly but that is about it, food is expensive and isn't that good. The fries we got felt like they were leftovers that were refried a second time, simply horrible. Hard on the outside and no potato left on the inside, think reheat McDonald's fries the next day that was the vibe here. All out buns were stale and over toasted around the entire perimeter so you bit into a hard inedible outer ring with every bite. I really wanted to like this but the food is terribly executed for what it is. The California version that I remember were so much better. I like In-n-Out occasionally. Their prices are fair, the place is always clean, and the people working there are friendly. This location recently opened in Longmont, so I went and tried it out after shopping in the area. I have tried four different In-N-Out locations recently, and this one still has a bit of training to do it seems. The order was correct, which was great. The fries were overdone (dry) and cold. The burger patties were burnt on the edges. I have never had that experience at any other location, so was a bit disappointed. It's a great location as far as getting there, but the traffic is a little challenging, compared to other locations as well. I will definitely give this location another chance once they've been open a bit longer and (hopefully) have worked out their kinks. read more

I grew up on In and Out burger and I have always found them to be consistent in their quality. I have been to the Longmont store twice and each time my hamburger was under cooked and the bun was burnt! I would much rather patronize the store in Loveland, there is a big difference! Would not recommend! The food is good usually good for the most part, had horrible experience that will keep me from going back, after ordering food it took 12 minutes to get to the window (not including time waiting to order food, total time was closer to 20min) and still waited at window, ordered a strawberry shake, it was not very cold and runny, the lid was not on correctly and it spilled on interior of car. While this happened at window I attempted to get the attention of anyone inside, but was ignored. I decided to leave with what I got and not wasting additional time dealing with additional frustration, to reach in bag to get cool stale fry's, I assumed it was because the long drive through wait and food quality suffered.
