If it's one thing I hate the most. Is lazy employees. It has been a couple of times I come here at around 2-4AM and the motherf*ckers working have the audacity to tell me they're closed. Sometimes I go there after work or sometimes it's because my wife is having cravings due to her pregnancy and this is the closest location that is supposed to stay open 24/7. It's always a lady. I pull up to the drive thru and she says "we're closed" I've responded with "what do you mean? This is a 24/7 drive thru." And they say "well we're changing that" and Im like "whatever and leave" sometimes I go there for lunch and I've asked the employees working there "what time do you guys close?" And they've always given me the same answer "we never really close we're open 24/7, at least the drive thru is" and I said "oh I'm glad to hear, you guys aren't in the process of changing that" so what pisses me off is the lazy employees when I've been there around 2-4 AM. Ordered #1 (Big Mac), with bacon light on the lettuce. When I pulled to the window, the cashier said Quarter Pounder with bacon, I said no it's a Big Mac. He corrected it. I pulled forward to pick up. When I get to my destination, looked at the burger it was a Quarter Pounder. No more! I have had more goofs on orders lately than ever. read more

They missed up my order and when I went back to get what was missing the manager "Soyo or may be was Soya" little short chubby lady with Hispanic accent told me that she remembers me complaining about my order once before so she wont help me. That was rude and it was not true, I do not visit this location too much and in fact I never even seen this lady in my life, regardless it does not matter they need to make it right if the order was not right anyway, but she did not. Bad business and poor management, I can afford losing $2 box but it is the principle that makes me write this review. I do not recommend this place, and I hope her boss reads this review and write her up for miss handling the issue so this does not happen to anyone else. read more

Food quality is better than the standard of other mickey d's. The service can be slow, but their quality is service is way better than most McDonald's. I went there to pick up some fries and they gave me a free drink for no apparent reason. People giving 3 stars to This establishment are expecting some Gordon Ramsey shit. The fries weren't dusty if you know that taste, and their prices are cheaper than the one near Starbucks. One of the best McDonald's out there. read more

Since this McDonald's in Castro Valley was closest to Golden Tee Golfland (where we were hanging out that day) the hubby walked here and picked up some food for us. For some reason he said it was crazy busy that day and took over 20 minutes to get our order (hence we deducted 1 star from this review). Food here is as expected like any other McDonald's location and the staff was nice. Plus side is that they didn't say anything when he paid with a $100 bill. read more

I cannot believe how stupid the managers at this location are .. I drove in this morning to get some coffee.. Right next to the speaker was a sign saying that they were only taking cash.. GUESS WHAT? THIS LOCATION STATES ON THE WINDOW THAT DINING ANS DRIVE THRU IS 24 hours!!!!! I am a commuter from Fresno to SF for the past 4 years and I've always stopped at this location to rest, especially inside to eat, use restrooms or complete my assignments before work and I've never had a problem trying to get into the building! FOR THE PAST COUPLE WEEKS I STOP AND THE MANAGER ALWAYS HAS THE DOORS LOCKED AT BOTH ENTRANCES! Even though it clearly says on hours of operation the dining area is 24hours! And she actually tried telling her ASsociates to yell through the window and tell me they're closed! Currently I'm writing this comment because I'm highly upset! I've had amazing service in the past but the last four times the experience and food is horrible!!!!! I was racially profiled because coming into the building I see other (customers) sitting and eating. As I confronted the manager she then said "well I can't do everything" meaning she's applying that she's NOT capable running this location. She then mentions "no one likes to work overnights so can I take your order?" As I try briefly explaining to her that this is the 4th time this has happened she proceeds to walk away! Mind u the front associate is just standing at the cash wrap wiping trays and watching the tv playing in the lobby! I will be calling corporate! Stopped by on my way home because it was right off the freeway. I'm in the drive thru for over 15 minutes only to get to the order window for the lady to tell me they don't have any smoothies. Not to mention the lady that was taking orders had to ask someone else. They could've had a sign posted letting us know their machine is down or whatever the case was. I could understand if it was the ice cream machine. At least everyone knows that's a gamble whenever you go to McDonald's. I live over an hour away from that location. The late nite manage..(lady with grey hair and pony tail) is NOT friendly, She is rude. I was in the there the other nite and I heard her make a rude comment to some people who on there computers and eating and minding there own business. I didnt think they were a problem...But she apparently did..because she said "Don't you guys have a home to go to?" I could not believe what I heard. There was no reason for that, from what I could tell... And she isnt very nice when she waits on you at the counter either... Customer service is a big part of how a business is judged and for that reason I would give this place 2 stars at the most. This McDonald is pretty convenient. The 24 hour drive thru is great, but whenever I am in the drive through line, the line is very very long, but I understand that some things take time. The thing that I do not like, is when they mess up my order. A few times when I ordered using the drive thru, they didnt put in my fries, and there was always a line, so I couldn't just reverse and get my fries. I do not know why they always forget the fries. Worst customer service. I order from drive through and they make me pull to the side and wait. After ten minutes they bring out my food. I got pancakes and an English muffin and I ask if they included syrup and jam. She assures me they did and is even sarcastic about it. Like of course we did you got pancakes, duh. Get home...nothing. Just got back from this Mcdonalds and it was my worse nightmare. So I ordered 4 spicy McChicken at the first window and somehow the young guy that took my order messed up and he gave me only 1 McChicken and so I told the guy at the second window I had ordered for 4 McChicken, and so he takes my visa card and tells me he'll ring me up for the other 3 McChicken and told me to pull up to the reserved parking spot. Which I did, I waited for about 10 minutes and I knew something wasn't right because they were taking too long. So I walked in and asked for my food and visa card back and the manager gave me my food and than he started speaking in Spanish asking the rest of his employees questions. He reluctantly tells me sorry ma'am but we lost your visa card. I was just so shocked when he said that to me. I mean how could they have lost my card that fast? I told the manager that I wasn't gonna leave until they found my card, and the MANAGER (short Mexican guy) RUDELY tells me that there's nothing they can do about my missing visa card. And so I told him, okay I'll call the cops and he gave me a big attitude telling me he didn't care. He was very RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL and acted like he didn't care about his customers. I ended up calling the cops and they interrogated the employees including the RUDE MANAGER and of course no body owned up to taking my visa card. They all said it was misplaced somewhere. This just shows how unprofessional this place really is. I come here out of convenience, regularly and the night staff guys are pretty cool. I think the quality is better compared to the other fast food options, I do prefer their menu to elsewhere. Nowhere else is really open late, which is when I usually go out and get stuff done. The prices are good which really justifies any issues with the food in my opinion. read more

I was at 1620 strobridge ave, Castro valley McDonald's, at the drive thru and a worker forgot to put a cheeseburger in my bag. I noticed shortly after I left. Which happens, I get it. So I go in and show my receipt and tell them I didn't get everything that I ordered and paid for. The manager say "look at the bottom of the bag". I wouldn't have came in if something wasn't missing. It was basically a slap in the face, her making like I'm stupid. She wasn't even trying to give me what I paid for. So I left, having paid for something I didn't receive. It's not about the money but the fact that she(manager) made it seem like I'm stupid and trying to con her out of a cheeseburger. I felt very disrespected. You guys owe me money for a cheeseburger, actually a double cheeseburger if you want to get exact. I love this McDonald's and I used to come here as a kid. My dad did, too, when they first opened. :) I miss the old days but it's got a great setup now since they remodeled again. The food is always hot as they don't let food sit around. Sometimes their ice cream or milkshake machines are down but I think that on hot days, they are on overload. The management NEEDS to order better machines as these are very robotic, cheap Chinese machines. Of course they will break down. It's not the employees faults. People can be so cruel to them - I have seen first hand. If you want to complain about things, ask to speak to the manager. The manager(s) will probably do nothing about it because let's face it - look where they are managing. No business degrees here, folks! Just a bunch of teenagers like it should be at a fast food restaurant. The kids that work here have no control over what goes on. The managers work at packaging and preparing the food because they can't speak English. Maybe write a letter to their corporate office if you want to see changes here.
