My kids love McDonald's and we frequent this location often. The food is always fresh, great fast service, and seems to always be busy. The vibe is low key and what you expect from fast food places. This place is always clean, there is plenty of seating, and have a decent play place for the kids inside. There is a drive thru, inside dining only, a play place, plenty of parking, curbside pickup, delivery, and counter service. This location seems to always be busy, being it's in a shopping center, and located close to a high school. We utilize the phone application for placing orders, daily discounts/deals, and free rewards. We found doing this and adding a payment option saves a lot of time and having to pay in person. If you use the app, you earn points and are able to use the points for free items. The food is what you expect and always tastes the same no matter what McDonald's you eat at. I have been dying to try the steak, cheese and egg bagel so I preordered it via the Mobile app this morning. Got to the busy drive thru at 10:20am and relayed my code to the female cashier at 10:25am. Got my receipt at 10:35am from the first window. Got to the second window at 10:40am and the male cashier said to wait at another window til 10:45am where the manager finally comes and tells me that their grill is broken? And offered to refund or give me another lunch sandwich or come back another day for a breakfast sandwich . I said fine I'll come back another day. He takes my name with the window still open so I assumed he was getting me a voucher. I continue waiting at the window for another 5 mins til the male cashier from the second window asked why I was still here. I explained that I was waiting for a voucher from the manager since the grill was broken. He tells me, "no we ran out" and gets the manager who comes back and said "oh I took down your name already." At this time I'm annoyed and it's hot with my car windows and it's almost 11am. So I tell the manager, "I'll just take a quarter pounder , I'm gonna go to the store quickly and come back." So I go through the drive thru again at 11:10am, no one knows what's going on and there's no quarter pounder ready and guess what I wait for another 4 mins at the third window again where I finally got a sorry for the inconvenience by the male cashier. By the time I left at 11:15am, it has been 55 mins wasted. I paid for a quarter pounder when I really wanted a bagel and they honestly should've just told me from the start that they had ran out of the bagel sandwiches instead of some crap bout the grill breaking down. The app advertises sausage McMuffin buy one get one for a dollar. I pressed that option in my phone. When they gave me the order, they gave me only one. I complained why it came out to be like that. Female Manager threw it in my face: "you were the one who put in the order." Greetings everyone, so my kids wanted McDonald fries... being the great dad I am I succumbed to the pressure and spent the $1.49 fries special on the app. Much to my disappointment this is what large fries consist of now. Deep in the large fries container were the fries but about the quantity of a small. In fear of a small scale rebellion from my offspring I talked to the employee and got "yup that's a large". Me and my wife love coming to this location. It's quick and there's never a complaint when coming here. The parking is vast since it's in a shopping center and of course there's a drive thru, there's even a double drive thru for a quicker response time. You would think that during a pandemic where you can't go inside a business and the only option is drive thru that a business would over flow with cars and they couldn't be fast enough. But that's not the case here. They were definitely on top of things at this location. They got our order, once we drove up and they weren't ready, they told us drive up and wait in the waiting parking spot. They later came out and brought us our food. We then asked the employee if the Ketchup was in the bag, she then ran to the drive thru window and ran back and apologized. She was so sweet and helpful. Rude staff, one of the night manager hung up on me when I was trying to call and ask about my work schedule for new hire. He told me that he was busy and to call back again after 30 minutes, so I waited about an hour before calling back and when I did, it took about 5 phone calls for him to answer and when he did, I asked if it was the same manager I was talking to earlier and before I can even finish that question, he hung up on me and never picked up any of my calls. This is consistently one of the crappiest McDs drive thru locations I have had the misfortune of patronizing in all of San Diego. Scratch that. This is the worst drive thru I have ever experienced of any fast food joint anywhere. Despite my many craptacular visits, I still infrequent this location due to its convenient location in Chula Vista. Hopefully I'll do better to remember what a time-suck this restaurant is and stop coming here and wasting my time. This location seems busy no matter what time or day of the week I visit. But it's also true that they are grossly inefficient and just plain slow. Some of the horrible drive thru experience can be attributed to poor training. Some of horrible drive thru experience can be a lack of staff. The rest of the horrible drive thru experience can be attributed to apathetic (or maybe overwhelmed & overworked) staff. This location features TWO drive thru lines that merge into one, which is supposed to mean more customers can be served and the lines can flow rather quickly. That's been the nice experience I have had with other busy McD's drive thrus, but NEVER EVER here. On the particular visit, I was with my kids and dropped my order via the app to minimize contact. When I arrived, the drive thru lines were long, as usual, so I parked in one of the designated pickup parking spaces and opted to have my food brought out to me in the parking lot. The app then told me there was an issue with my order and I had to go into the restaurant. That was not an option, Given the COVID-19 situation, and the fact I had my kids in the truck with me. Using the app, I reselected to pick up via drive thru and was given a code. Then I had to drive around and get into one of the long drive thru lines where I spent the next almost 30mins (start to finish)!!! By this time my credit card company sent me a text confirming the charge. When I finally reached the speaker after about 15mins, I was more than ready to provide my order number. Instead, when I mentioned I put in my order via the app I was told that the restaurant's Internet was down and they were not accepting mobile orders and I had to pay with cash! Luckily I had cash on hand but I can only imagine how inconvenient this was for anyone who was stuck in the drive thru line without any cash on hand during this time. I proceeded to put in my order then waited almost another 15mins before reaching the first window to pay! The staff, who were all wearing gloves and masks, resembled ants scrambling after someone steps on their organized line--complete disarray. I got my order, parked nearby to confirm its accuracy and give my starving kids their food, then hit the road. I can understand not being able to immediately tape a simple "no mobile orders. cash only" paper to the speaker or outdoor menu as I have seen at other restaurants, but I was here almost an hour from when I dropped my order via the app until I finally received my food. I spent about 10mins sorting out my app order issue. About another 30mins in the drive thru. And another 10mins in the adjacent parking lot giving my kids their food in my vehicle. I'm all that time no one posted any signage about this issue, which is telling about their training and customer service. Additionally, The charge to my credit card for the mobile order that was never fulfilled wasn't reversed until almost 48hours later. So if you have nothing better to do but waste time stuck in a drive thru then visit this location and bring cash. You can also refer people you don't like here too to torture them. read more

This Mc Donald's is the absolute worst!! I ordered a Big Mac. Large Fries and 10pc Nuggets. I asked politely if my order could be customized by being freshly prepared. No problem replied the drive thru person and we pull up, pay and was directed to the 2nd window. Guys look at us funny making us feel awkward while we sit in the drive thru line. I compliment the young guy who helped us at the 2nd window because he had a cool J Balvin Tee on. He offers us sauce and hands us our "freshly prepared " meal. Quarter pounder with mayo no pickles please!!! This location is extremely hectic during the weekend and evening hours!!! Looooong drive thru lines. Rarely lines inside, so go inside to order if you can. The parking lot is across the driveway from the actual restaurant, so walking inside is not very easy especially if you have small children. The cashiers here are prompt. The lines move but not very swiftly. My orders have always been accurate. McDonald's price are quite high and continue to raise. Yet the portion sizes remain the same or have gotten smaller. The sausage McMuffin, quarter pounder, happy meal and Big Mac are household favorites. Check your receipt and do the survey. I do!!!
