I've ordered at this location before and never had any issues. Tonight, I called in my order (giant $19.75 Philly cheese steak). I wanted wheat bread, but the person mentioned that they only had white bread left and asked if it was alright. I had no other choice , but to say yes. Got to the place 15 min later (5:20), 3 employees, ONE PERSON in line (empty), asked for my sandwiches, "Oh they're not ready yet but they're next". They work on other sandwiches and god knows what else as I stand there patiently for 27 minutes, I don't get out of there until 5:47 PM with two giant subs, prepared on the wrong bread btw. Arrived Home and was going to eat our sandwhices and observed they were both made with rosemary bread. I do not eat rosemary bread. I dislike mayonnaise on my sandwich! I called this location to informd them the online order was incorrect and I was returning sandwhices to be made correctly. When I entered the location. A Female employee said " welcome back again " being sarcastic . I calmly asked employee if my sandwiches could be remade due to an issue with the order, as they were prepared in a sloppy manner. The employee refused and responded in a rude and aggressive way. I mentioned I needed to go to my next thing to do . She then slid the sandwiches toward me instead of addressing my concern professionally. Additionally, during the Two visits approximately within 40 minutes apart I was present, the employee's demeanor noticeably shifted. First visit I picked up the sandwiches. She complimented me on my Tee Shirt. 2nd visit she was verbally abusive towards me and very rude. It's 12:15 pm location is busy with guests. In front of other guests. I placed an order tonight at 7:45p. I ordered two sandwiches and for my sandwich, I requested for the deli meat to be heated up because I am pregnant. I even added a tip to my order total. My husband went to go pick the sandwiches up, and when he asked the lady that was working if the deli meat was heated up, she claimed she forgot. No big deal. My husband called and explained that she was heating up the deli meat and that was that. When he got home and gave me the sandwich and I saw this, I was irritated. $20 for a sandwich that is this sloppy, AND mainly bread is beyond unacceptable. Okay, wheat it is. Worker at the slicer cut 5 slices of cheese, 5 slices of ham, 5 slices of turkey...on a giant! Wanted it Mikes way. They put some lettuce on, and 5 slices of Roma tomato. They looked lonely so far away from each other...and two slices of bacon, broken in half...for each sandwich. The service is apparently upbeat and positive when you enter this store in Eastlake. There is a leader (manager) at the register area who is very welcoming and conversational with the customers. Dirty food area, cross contamination with gloves touching the register, then the raw food on the grill, and then the fresh food with the toppings. Poor customer service by the male who said he was the shift leader, I believe his name was George, and a very long wait time. When I ordered I was told it would be 15-20 mins because they had bacon on the grill and it was "full" and asked if that was ok, I said yes. However, it took 30 mins for them to make 1 of the 2 sandwiches and when they went to make the 2nd sandwich they said it was actually going to be another 15 mins because they ran out of bacon. 45 mins for 2 jersey mikes subs is crazy. No one was in line when I arrived, but there were online orders and 2 others waiting who were very upset. Then like 10 people came in after me during the 30 mins I waited and almost all of them got their orders before me. The male "shift leader" was horrible but the females working were at least apologetic and nice. I have not had one of these in years, but I am from North Jersey and consider these pieces of bread with stuff in the middle to be a very poor representation of a real authentic Sub, of which I have had many. I make much better Subs than have ever come out of these places. Tomatoes on top of lettuce and then bouncing the dressing off the tomatoes? C'mon...Anybody with any experience knows the tomato goes on top of the cheese and the lettuce and onions go on top so that the dressing (oil/vinegar and oregano and salt and pepper usually) goes into the lettuce and sticks around a little longer. Went today (Veterans Day) and decided to dine in with the fam before hitting the park. This place has made leaps in service and quality of food. There was a lady there I believe she is the manager or shift lead and let me tell you she was running the line like a true leader. Great service from all staff and a great sandwich. We got the club sub on the rosemary parm and it was the best made sandwich since I've been going to Jersey mikes. I am very disappointed I went to your store (2315 Otay Lakes road, Chula Vista ca ) (6194213200)( WHICH BY THE WAY THEIR PHONE DOESNT WORK) (1/3/22 )today to grab dinner I drove home and when I got home I realized that I had gotten a different type of bread than what I had originally ordered. I ordered a plain white bread for my kids and I get home and it's some Italian cheese bread that of course my kids do not want to touch. So I make the drive back to Jersey Mike's which is about 15 minutes and I get to your store and I am told that during the time I ordered my sandwich there was no more white bread available and that this Italian herb was the closest thing to white bread. It would've been nice if the Jersey Mike's employees would've notified me when I got my order of the changes that were made. They should've offered me a refund or asked to choose something else. So glad my kids aren't allergic to cheese or herbs. Reason for this email was to inform management that they should notify the customer of changes. This is a weird Jersey Mike's. I've eaten at many of them in multiple cities and states, and never gotten unsatisfactory food. The good news is that you know what you are going to get, the ingredients seem to always be fresh, service is quick, and you get to watch your sandwich being made. Now the weird stuff: 1. The senior-most person who I presume was the manager, asked me THREE times in the span of about two minutes whether I was ready to order while I was reading the menu and trying to decide what I wanted. There were only two other customers in the store, and I am quite sure that I didn't give off any body language or other signals indicating that I was impatient. I don't eat at Jersey Mike's often, I don't have the menu memorized, and when I do eat there I always check to see if there are any specials - There are a few sandwiches that are not always available. 2. The cashier declined to take a $50 bill in payment for an order close to $20. I ended up paying with a credit card. 3. I asked the cashier whether refusing $50 bills was company-wide policy or just that one store. He didn't answer, but two other employees gave different and conflicting answers. One said it was company policy, the other said it was up to individual franchisees. I checked my $50 bill and verified that it has the words "THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE" printed on the front just like every other United States Federal Reserve Note that I have ever seen. I've heard of more and more businesses not accepting cash at all, taking only credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, etc. I think that should be their prerogative in spite of the legal tender language on paper money, but any business who wishes to deny any lawful form of payment should post that policy on their front door to avoid misunderstandings. I'll take a wild guess that if I call a Jersey Mike's in La Jolla or Point Loma or Del Mar and ask whether they accept $50 bills, they'll answer in the affirmative. I haven't done that yet, but I'd like to put the Eastlake store on notice that customers don't appreciate being lied to or treated like criminal suspects I doubt that I will ever set foot in that place again. Unfortunately, not a good experience. We waited patiently for our turn, not rushing anyone...then the "manager" or person in charge "Elv.a" was so stressed out when it was our turn. My daughter's got nervous by the way she was asking what they wanted. This woman in charge was horrible, has zero customer service and is unable to deal with children. So rude! I had to tell her to change her tone talking to my kids. The girl adding condiments was very nice, so was the cashier... she then was telling him what to do, this person in charge was trying to do it all and stressing everyone even the employees. Julius was rude and by reading other customers reviews seems like his type of behavior is encouraged at this business. It's disappointing when rudeness and unprofessional behavior affect the customer's interaction. So this was first and last time ordering online with this store. Paid $39 for 3 regular sandwiches with two being BLT with extra bacon. The sandwiches were ridiculously light with a smattering of lettuce hardly any tomato and definitely no extra bacon despite charging me for both sandwiches. Never again read more

It's a good location I like the manager who works there she's a real homegirl type I frequent here at least 3 times a month if not more depending on the jag I'm on. The manager with the neck tattoo was so unpleasant, I thought she wanted to fight me or something. SMH. If your bill comes up to almost $60, you should be able to pay with $100. I will NEVER give my business to the Otay Lakes Rd Jersey Mike's location EVER again. ***full details of my review are in the attached photos*** TL;DR: Horrendous employees (Julius and Ariel) treated me like crap, ganged up on me, then called the store owner after I left, who verbally harassed me on my personal cell phone (the employees breached my confidentiality by looking up my rewards account). Owner then repeatedly called me but I kept declining his calls. Beginning portion of review: When we first arrived, my sister and I asked Julius whether or not Vince could make our sandwiches. We were totally fine with the answer being no, but Julius said that he would ask Vince. Vince, of course, said that it was okay. After he sliced our bread and meats, Ariel (new employee) asked if we wanted our sandwiches Mike's Way. I had to remind the crew that my sister requested her #7 to be grilled, which Julius had initially approved and supposedly taken note of. I told Ariel that I would also wait for Vince to top off my sandwich, since he is the only employee who makes the sandwiches actually edible for me, personally. Immediately, Ariel turned to gossip with the pale-skinned boy with dark brown hair who was preparing online order bags. This was not even discreet! When Ariel was done gossiping, she turned back to us and I asked if she could ring us up. She did, and she was ready to walk away after giving me my change; I had to ask her for a receipt and bags for our sandwiches, so she grabbed the receipt and slapped it onto the counter. She then asked my sister and me, "You guys come here often, huh?" I replied, "Well, we used to until I had to contact corporate about someone." As Vince was finishing up our subs, I asked him if I could tip him specifically, and he said he didn't think so. Julius told me that if I handed Vince the tip, he could keep it. Then Julius felt the need to tell me, "So only because it wasn't crowded today, I let Vince make your sandwich but normally I wouldn't be able to. I told him it was okay." I replied, "Yes, that's fine but that's why I asked you in the beginning if it was okay." He doubled down, "Yeah I'm the reason why he was able to do it. It's not how our business works. If it's busy we can't have someone make your sandwich the whole way." I told him, referring to our last visit, which had prompted me to submit a complaint online, "By that logic, last time Xavier should have been able to make my sister's sandwich. It was not crowded during our previous visit and while you were topping off my sandwich, Xavier and Amelia were just standing beside you, watching. There were no other customers." He reiterated, "I CHOSE to let it happen today. I COULD'VE said no." So I replied, "Just like I could've chosen not to purchase a sandwich here and give business to this establishment." Jersey Mike's has usually done me well, but this time around they did a an A-Okay job. I ordered the "Cancro" sub with Angus roast beef and pepperoni Mike's Way, and made it a meal with an ice tea and some Sun Chips for around $10. I as for the sandwich to be prepared "hot," but it arrived lukewarm. In fact, the roast beef was still cold and the cheese was not even melted. The employee who heated this sandwich, needs to be trained on how to properly heat a sandwich. However, even though the sandwich was not heated as I wanted, it still was a good sandwich. The roast beef was tender and a nice medium with very good flavor. They put a decent about of beef too. Although, the sandwich came with pepperoni, I could not taste it in a single bite, so to make a long story short, please put more pepperoni in this sandwich. A single layer of slices, just did not cut it. Mike's way is always a good way to roll. The shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and onions are always fresh, and the Vinegar, Oil and Spices, is always a great way to spruce up a sandwich. I asked for the wheat rolls and it was good. Much better than the roll they use to use years ago. Although, service was good at the counter when I ordered my meal, I was disappointed that they did not offer to make me a new sandwich, after I told them it was not heated properly. 3/16/21 - My wife made an online order from the Jersey Mike's located on Otay Lakes Road in Chula Vista, and sadly we were disappointed. The picture shared in this rating with the jalapeno pepper in the red circle was specifically requested NOT to be added to our sandwich, as my wife specifically indicated she was allergic to jalapeno peppers in our online order, yet it was still added! Furthermore, to add insult to injury, I called this location 45 minutes before closing to let them know about the error they made and nobody picked up; and this was after 7 attempts of hearing the phone being picked up and then hung up! To pay the amount charged for this sandwich (approx. $15) and not get what was ordered after giving specific instructions is unacceptable! Where can I find the district Managers phone number? I usually go to this location and get excellent service. On Sunday, 2, 2023, around 2 pm, while I was waiting in line and a customer was placing their order, an employee was very disrespectful to another employee. It seemed to me as if she was getting bullied. I could look at the employee's name, which is very memorable because of how common it was. Her name was Bella. It made myself and the other customers very uncomfortable; it seemed like there was no leadership at the time, and it was very unprofessional and created a hostile environment. Since two customers conferred with the young lady, put in a bad situation, she still provided excellent service. I want to speak with the District Manager; it seems as if their supervisor accepts this type of behavior since she was very comfortable behaving in this manner. I will keep trying to get a hold of the district manager, since I go often to this location, which is the closest to my house. I would really hate to see this type of behavior happen again. This review is strictly for online ordering experience. I've never stood in line at this shop, which also means I've never sat down and eaten here. This is probably why I'm a fan. I typically order my sandwiches either via the app or through their website. After placing the order and paying, I just hop into my car and drive to this location to do a pick-up. I bypass the long lines for lunch and head straight to the Online/Phone order pick-up sign at the end of the room. Just gotta give them my name and get sandwich. Done! All the while getting a few stink eyes from folks standing in line. But, that's not my problem. For the fam, Jersey Mike's is a favorite. Better than Subway, for sure, even if they are a bit higher priced. I usually order a giant pastrami and add extra meat. It'll feed about 3-4 people (read: family) and no one goes hungry. I can't complain. It's not the best pastrami I've ever ordered, but Jersey Mike's does a good job. Customer service has been a mix bag. You either get a super happy person or the indifferent teenager. Parking can be iffy, too. Oh, and watch out for crappy drivers looking for parking in the lot. I'd rather do a company survey than to leave a bad review on a public platform like this but since I wasn't even offered a receipt, and my experience tonight was so bad, I feel I have to mention it here. Not only was I not offered a receipt, but the receipt printed and was immediately ripped off and thrown away. So I'll start with the kind of annoying but not terrible stuff: First, they ran out of lettuce. I'm not sure if they were out or just didn't want to prep more. Either way, not the end of the world. But probably something that should be brought up before any sandwich is ordered. I feel like the lettuce really pulls the sandwich together and tonight that's just missing. No one was informed the lettuce was out. The guy that was making the hot sandwiches just walked over to the guy taking orders and whispered to him that there was no more lettuce and then smirked and chuckled and went back to the grill. He didn't even tell the girl on veggies that they were out. So the poor girl didn't even know until my sandwich got to her and I asked if there was any. She looked over and asked the grill guy if there was any and he shook his head, smirked, and turned his back again. I felt so bad for her. The person behind me was also not informed about not having lettuce. Just not good customer service. Typically Im not bugged by something like running out of lettuce but the body language and lack of communication to the guests and especially to their own coworker was sad. But this is just the not so big a deal stuff. Now for the bad stuff... The place was filthy. Old meat and veggies sitting all over the grill top and bread crumbs everywhere! One of my sandwiches was a hot sandwich. And I regret ordering it. My meats and veggies were mixed in with all the old stuff still on the grill. None of it was scraped off or even moved. It literally looked like the grill hadn't been cleaned all day as did the sandwich making area. I honestly worry that someone would get sick with that. Appearance is important. Especially in food. If the grill is that disgusting and the surfaces that the sandwiches are made on are that dirty, it makes you wonder what the prep area looks like. What the fridge looks like. It's just disgusting. Also, the guy on the grill is the one that rang me up and I did not see him wash his hands before going back to the grill. I don't think I'll be going back. Which is a shame because I really enjoy jersey Mike's. But my health and safety (especially during a pandemic) is far more important to me. And honestly I think other people should be concerned about this too. And it's a good thing I'm honest because I had to be asked if I was rung up.
